- socklant00Fun and educational Pompeii tourWe had an enjoyable small group Pompeii tour with our guide Ilaria. She was friendly, funny and made Pompeii come to live with the facts and stories shared based on her knowledge and archaeology experience working at the Pompeii site previously. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Pompeii.
- kimcE1393JU00Excellent Tour And GuideAmazing! The tour guide through Askos, Alessanddra Sena is an geologist major and very knowledgeable. She spent the time giving information and answering questions at leisure. Not in a hurry. I could tell she loves her job and enjoys sharing her knowledge. The tour was fascinating. I'd recommend it. And, if I'm ever in Italy, again- I will experience the tour once more, with hopes of having the same guide.
- Go5141623428500Great TourIt was a great experience. Both the driver Francesco and the Archeologist Giulia was a great company. Francesco took us from the meeting point in front of Napole Centrale. We met Giulia at the gates of Pompei Parco and enjoyed a nice walk on the east side of Pompei and after the whole Herculanum Park. It was raining during the start of the tour, but it is manageable with rain ponchos. Herculanum is a small town, with better conservation. Pompei is world famous. We missed the amphitheater and arena in Pompei to go to Herculanum in the same day. Over all it was a great experience and I would do it again. Bring a shoe fit to walk in irregular terrain.
- nicolejM8673DQ00Exploring the ruins with an expertI HIGHLY recommend this tour. It was so informative and allowed us to learn how the archaeologists determined the layout of the city, what each building or structure was used for, the history of Pompeii and the surrounding areas and all that is yet to be uncovered. We could have spent hours getting lost in here, so having the guide really helped highlight all of the spaces and make it an enjoyable day visit. Askos was also very communicative and helpful when our train to Pompeii arrived later than anticipated. Overall, I give it a 10/10!
- debbiedavo7800Wonderful tour with a passionate guideOur guide was very passionate and the tour was incredible! She took us on a journey of the Pompeii of 79AD
- F6041ERagustinr00Highly recommended tourWe did the tour in Pompei with Alessandra and she is an excellent guide. She is passionate about the site and seems to know it inside out. Alessandra is also an excellent communicator and made the tour very entertaining. We saw Pompei with another eyes and learned many interesting facts about Roman times and Pompei that we could have never figured on our own. The rest of the Askos staff were also great. We had an issue with the train and could not make it in time on the day we had booked, they were willing to help and found a slot for us on the next day that saved the trip. I definitely think that visiting Pompei with a tour makes the whole experience much more enriching, the city is immense and having someone showing the main spots and putting things in context is a must. Pompei is a unique place and I highly recommend you visit it if you are close by!
- E8155JEvalerier00Exceptional Pompeii ExperienceMy wife and I had already visited Pompeii, so we chose this tour because it seemed different from the others, and we were absolutely right. The guide was exceptional: with a carefully planned itinerary, she was able to show us the most important points of the ancient city, narrating interesting anecdotes and significant details. She managed to engage us and convey their passion for archaeology to such an extent that the 3 hours flew by with her. Recommended for anyone who truly wants to get to know Pompeii.
- sarahmA749AZ00Comprehensive and interesting tourExcellent tour with very knowledgeable and capable guide (Paolo). Problem with public transport quickly and efficiently dealt with.
- 350dp00Loved this tourFrancesco and Paolo were great! Francesco got to our group pickup site early, communicated great with folks from 3 different countries in the van, and provided a stress free ride in a spacious and comfortable vehicle. Paolo led a great tour that never felt rushed. He answered all levels of questions asked from the group (from the silly ones to the complicated ones). His archeology background allowed him to provide context and history that I'm certain would have been missed going on a large group tour. I highly recommend this tour!
- U8878INsarahw00Don't skip this tourThis is bybfar one of the best tours I have ever done. Our tour guide, Luciano, was fantastic and passionate about what we were seeing.
- D1463RGrobertc00Intimate Journey Through PompeiiJoining this tour was a unique experience, enhanced by the small group size which made it feel almost private. The expertise of our archaeologist guide brought the ancient city to life in an engaging way. The highlight was the Villa dei Misteri, where the stunning frescoes left me in awe. This tour is highly recommended for its personalized approach and the profound sense of history it imparts.
- colleenkS7408VI00A must do!Our guide Paolo and our driver Francesco were both amazing. This was our favorite tour of the trip. If you have to book just one tour make it this one! We learned so much but it was all well paced and very interesting and engaging. I would do this again in a heartbeat.
- SilannaLondon00Worth it100% worth doing Pompeii with an Archaeologist, really enjoyed it. We got to learn a little more about certain parts as well as some ideas of what life was like. I'm not sure you would get this from listening to an audio. Would definitely recommend booking for anyone interested.
- fordp75000A Remarkable Exploration of Pompeii with Askos ToursThe Pompeii tour with Askos Tours was an exceptional experience, marked by the expertise of our guide, an archaeologist who brought the ancient city to life with fascinating insights. The small group size made the tour intimate and interactive, allowing for in-depth exploration and personalized attention. A highlight was the exclusive access to the Villa dei Misteri, offering a unique glimpse into well-preserved frescoes and ancient mysteries. This tour is a must for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of Pompeii's rich history.
- Must_roam_the_earth00Very informative and delievered in an interesting way.I have previously gone on tour at Ponpeii, but my wife missed it. We decided to go again so she could see the city. Even though this was my second time there, the guide added enough new meaningful information to make it very interesting. We also viewed areas I had not seen before. Well worth the time to train down from Rome and back for this tour. Highly recommend it! The tour used bluetooth headsets which made hearing the guide easy!!!

Alfredo De Luca was exceptional and we are still talking about him and what he taught us about Pompeii as we head home. He always referred to Pompeii as “this beautiful city.” He filled the entire 3 hours with so much information about the site, how they are discovering new items and cataloging them, how the people lived, the tile work and the art. It was better than expected! My family loved it! Two teenagers 15 and 17 yo said this was the best part of their trip. We recommend this tour and especially, Alfredo.

This is absolutely the best way to get the most out of your tour to Pompeii. Our guide, Michele, was about as thorough as anyone could expect. It was a three hour, in-depth look at the eruption, the aftermath and then a fascinating look into life in Pompeii preceding the eruption. We were picked up at our VRBO, driven to Pompeii where we were met by our guide. After the tour we were driven back to Naples and dropped off at the restaurant of our choosing. It was all smooth and seamless. Can't say enough good things about how well we enjoyed it.

This Pompeii Tour was the crowning event of our two weeks in Italy. Our guide, Michele was outstanding. His knowledge of Pompeii and the Roman civilization is impressive. The tour pace was comfortable and covered the highlights very well. Michele's zeal and enthusiasm brought the ancient town to life. We could easily imagine the town alive and filled with Roman citizens living their lives in 79 AD.
This tour is highly recommended and was well worth the cost. 3 hours was not enough!

Visited March 2022.
Giulia Musella was our guide and she was wonderful! She was on time, personable, very knowledgeable (she's an archeologist), and shared many details and stories about Pompeii and its people. She made an experience of a lifetime even more special. Highly recommend Giulia as a tour guide and this operator to organize the tour.

The Pompeii Ruins is a must-do with a guide since they have so much knowledge about the history and every detail on the ruin.
We got lucky with the Askos Tours Guide Paolo since he’s an archaeologist.
His knowledge on the ruins was amazing, and his pace on the tour was really good too. He kept us all engaged throughout the tour. I highly recommend doing this tour if you’re visiting the Pompeii Ruins.

We booked a 3 hour tour with Askotours and I can't rate them highly enough. Our archeological guide, Paola Vitiello was not only extremely knowledgeable but she had excellent English . She had studied under one of the professors invovled in the excavation and described in detail the background and context to the artifacts and buildings. I would certainly recommend that you stay for 3 hours as there is so much to see. Definitely worth having a personal guided tour. I felt we really got under the skkn of the place.

Our family of five had a private tour in English with Antonella. Despite it being an incredibly hot day, we enjoyed ourselves very much and three hours flew by. Our guide was charming, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about ancient Roman life. The tour was worth every penny!

Very well organised and interesting. Our guide Rosselle was very knowledgeable and answered all questions on top of all the interesting facts she told us. Rosselle was also fun and approachable. The tour itself was better than I imagined.

This tour was amazing and I believe the archologist, Paolo Gardelli, was great part of the experience.
I can only say good things about Ponpeii and this tour.
The place itself is huge and, unless you're very well informed and knowledgeable on archeology, if you do it alone you'll spend the time looking at rocks and missing 99% of the interesting "hidden" story of the place.
Highly recommended.

Meeting the Ana, the guide was clear and we were assigned our group. We were all given speakers so we could hear her throughout the tour and she was very clear about where she was at all times. She also had great knowledge about the site and answered all questions we had, no problem. She was very engaging and spoke about Pompei with passion. Would definitely highly recommend the tour.

Hello,
When the tour finishes, are we allowed to stay & wander through the entire Pompeii grounds on our own? Or are the admission tickets valid for a certain time?

We were there near the end of the day, but I think you could stay and wander around. The guide took us through the gift shop but we could have gone back (if it hadn't been too late in the day)
Does this price include admission to pompeii? Do we have to wait in the regular line or is it expedited?
