We had an enjoyable small group Pompeii tour with our guide Ilaria. She was friendly, funny and made Pompeii come to live with the facts and stories shared based on her knowledge and archaeology experience working at the Pompeii site previously. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Pompeii.

Amazing! The tour guide through Askos, Alessanddra Sena is an geologist major and very knowledgeable. She spent the time giving information and answering questions at leisure. Not in a hurry. I could tell she loves her job and enjoys sharing her knowledge. The tour was fascinating. I'd recommend it. And, if I'm ever in Italy, again- I will experience the tour once more, with hopes of having the same guide.

It was a great experience. Both the driver Francesco and the Archeologist Giulia was a great company. Francesco took us from the meeting point in front of Napole Centrale. We met Giulia at the gates of Pompei Parco and enjoyed a nice walk on the east side of Pompei and after the whole Herculanum Park. It was raining during the start of the tour, but it is manageable with rain ponchos. Herculanum is a small town, with better conservation. Pompei is world famous. We missed the amphitheater and arena in Pompei to go to Herculanum in the same day. Over all it was a great experience and I would do it again. Bring a shoe fit to walk in irregular terrain.

I HIGHLY recommend this tour. It was so informative and allowed us to learn how the archaeologists determined the layout of the city, what each building or structure was used for, the history of Pompeii and the surrounding areas and all that is yet to be uncovered. We could have spent hours getting lost in here, so having the guide really helped highlight all of the spaces and make it an enjoyable day visit. Askos was also very communicative and helpful when our train to Pompeii arrived later than anticipated. Overall, I give it a 10/10!

We did the tour in Pompei with Alessandra and she is an excellent guide. She is passionate about the site and seems to know it inside out. Alessandra is also an excellent communicator and made the tour very entertaining. We saw Pompei with another eyes and learned many interesting facts about Roman times and Pompei that we could have never figured on our own. The rest of the Askos staff were also great. We had an issue with the train and could not make it in time on the day we had booked, they were willing to help and found a slot for us on the next day that saved the trip. I definitely think that visiting Pompei with a tour makes the whole experience much more enriching, the city is immense and having someone showing the main spots and putting things in context is a must. Pompei is a unique place and I highly recommend you visit it if you are close by!

My wife and I had already visited Pompeii, so we chose this tour because it seemed different from the others, and we were absolutely right. The guide was exceptional: with a carefully planned itinerary, she was able to show us the most important points of the ancient city, narrating interesting anecdotes and significant details. She managed to engage us and convey their passion for archaeology to such an extent that the 3 hours flew by with her. Recommended for anyone who truly wants to get to know Pompeii.

Francesco and Paolo were great! Francesco got to our group pickup site early, communicated great with folks from 3 different countries in the van, and provided a stress free ride in a spacious and comfortable vehicle. Paolo led a great tour that never felt rushed. He answered all levels of questions asked from the group (from the silly ones to the complicated ones). His archeology background allowed him to provide context and history that I'm certain would have been missed going on a large group tour. I highly recommend this tour!

Our guide Paolo and our driver Francesco were both amazing. This was our favorite tour of the trip. If you have to book just one tour make it this one! We learned so much but it was all well paced and very interesting and engaging. I would do this again in a heartbeat.

100% worth doing Pompeii with an Archaeologist, really enjoyed it. We got to learn a little more about certain parts as well as some ideas of what life was like. I'm not sure you would get this from listening to an audio. Would definitely recommend booking for anyone interested.

I have previously gone on tour at Ponpeii, but my wife missed it. We decided to go again so she could see the city. Even though this was my second time there, the guide added enough new meaningful information to make it very interesting. We also viewed areas I had not seen before. Well worth the time to train down from Rome and back for this tour. Highly recommend it! The tour used bluetooth headsets which made hearing the guide easy!!!
