In December 2024 we had a pleasure of having Ilaria as our guide for the Pompeii tour. It was a fantastic experience. Ilaria speaks very good English and she tells the story with a lot of passion and knowledge. I can recommend Svelaria tours without any hesitation.

We hired Ilaria for a three-hour tour of Pompeii, and it was fabulous. Ilaria knows everything about the site, and she is a wonderful guide--clear, erudite, engaging, and a joy to spend time with. Her excitement about the excavations and what they have taught us is completely infectious. The three hours flew by.

My family and I did a tour to Pompeii and Naples. Ilaria was an amazing guide!! You could visualize what Pompeii looked like by her description. After we went for lunch and had the most delicious pizza in a local pizzeria. It was so nice sitting and chatting with Ilaria. She was so warm and friendly!! We got to tour a bit of Naples as well. I highly recommend touring with Ilaria and her driver Fabio. Was a wonderful experience, one my family and I will treasure!! Thank you both for giving us this experience!!

Svelaria was such a fantastic guide. We learnt so much going around. She kept the teens entertained too. She also took us to places that had only just opened. She has done dogs herself in Pompeii and in Egypt etc, so she’s truly knowledgable. I had been around Pompeii 20 year ms earlier with no guide, I wouldn’t recommend that as you do not get to truly experience Pompeii and you can wander around aimlessly too and it’s a very large site. High recommend this tour and Svelaria, you couldn’t get a better guide.

Our guide, Ilaria, was simply the best and highly recommended. A few days before our tour, she had contacted me direct by email to introduce herself and give details of where exactly to meet her on the morning of our tour, to which I replied, telling her a little about myself, family and our interests. The tour itself proved a delight! Ilaria is a born communicator, engaging, highly knowledgeable, welcomed questions and proved v good company as we explored Herculaneum together. More than this, we got both her personal insights as a working archaeologist and particular enthusiasms: the things that have truly captured her imagination amid the myriad wonders of this truly awe-inspiring ancient site. Great tour with Francesca around Pozzuoli. Even though some site were closed or in limited access due to renovation or sismic activity, we saw and learned a lot. Francesca was amazing and very nice. Svelaria Guide Tours was really adaptable to find a guide quickly, on the right time and date for us. Five stars!

Ilaria was absolutely amazing! She is so knowledgeable and passionate about archeology and it shows in her guided tours. She managed to bring to life the world of Pompeii. Ilaria is a passionate archeologist who can share her knowledgein a very interesting way. We started the tour at the amphitheater entrance - far away from the big tourist groups; that was really nice to walk through the ruins in this less crowded area. For my 21-year-old son (normally not that interested in historic topics), it was the best visit we had during our vacation. I also enjoyed it very much. I recommend the tour without any hesitation!

Luciano Leone was our guide and was excellent. He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and engaging throughout the tour. As an archaeologist, Luciano gave us detailed insights into the site, the work done and how people lived there. I would thoroughly recommend a tour with him. The sire is worth visiting, but a knowledgeable guide such as Luciano makes it excellent.

We had a great experience. Our guide explained everything to us & made it interesting enough for our younger girls to be entertained as well. Gabrielle had lots of knowledge and we had a great time!

We had two private tour's with Ilaria which were absolutely fantastic. She was a delight to walk around with. Our guide took us on a gentle tour through the ruins of Pompeii. We were a mixed age group from grandparents through to primary school children. She explained significant sites very well and answered the many questions she was asked thoroughly. Her intimate knowledge of the site was reflected in her commentary. It was a wonderful experience to be part of small group with such a knowledgeable guide.

Excellent tour by guide with extensive knowledge. We did two other great tours with her, to the archeological museum in Napoli and at Pompeii. Highly recommended
