Tour was well organized. Everything was on time. Pompeii ruins portion was well done and covered a sufficient portion of the the site. Our guide was knowledgeable. Headsets worked well. The Vesuvius portion was fun. Our guide Mario did an excellent job. He was also very knowledgeable and accommodating. Be aware if do the mountain that the hike up requires certain degree of fitness. At a guess, it's about 600 yards of 25 degree incline up hill walking and another 300 yards of walking to walk around 50% of rim. The you have to walk those distances back. No toilets after you leave parking lot. Cooler and windier at the top. Worth the walk if you can do it. Bus ride to and from mountain is about 1/2 hour each way. Sneakers work fine.

This was such a disappointment. The meeting postcode provided takes you to the wrong place so not a great start. When we did find the correct area, we were gutted to find the "small group" was in fact over 20 people, so not small at all. The tour guide was lovely and so informative. Just a shame they were so hard to locate and we ended up losing them within 30 minutes of being in Pompeii. A lot of other tours, including ones we'd been on previously, had flags or would give an overview of where the tour would go so people could meet back up with them. We were looking in a particular area and were advised we could go and take photos before moving on. Even though we could still hear them through the Bluetooth listening device, we could not find them at all and did not hear them do a head count or give any indication as to where they had walked off too so we could find them! There was no information provided, at the start or on the booking info on what to do in case we lost the tour guide. Not only did we miss out on all the information that the tour guide would have given us, we were left with the listening devices and could not find anyone, or anywhere, to hand them back in. After 45 minutes of asking various staff members at the Pompeii exit and tourist guides, we had to walk 20 minutes up the hill back to the start (which is the last thing you want to do after walking for hours in the heat) and hand them back to the person who was checking everyone in. This caused us to miss our train so overall, a really stressful and waste of a day. Again, the tour guide herself was great, but you need a better system for keeping check of your group. Had it been the "small group" as promised, I doubt people would get split up. We had been on tours at the colloseum and other attractions and the group tours were handled much better.

We had a fantastic tour of Pompeii with our guide Antonio. His deep local knowledge really brought the history of the site to life. The tour company was very accommodating of our late arrival due to traffic, which we greatly appreciated. The two-hour tour provided a wonderful overview of Pompeii, but you could easily spend many more hours exploring. If you’re short on time, this tour is a perfect way to get a taste of this incredible site. Highly recommend!

Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. However, I think that perhaps it would be better to skip a few things or have smaller groups or allow more time. She moved very quickly, I ‘m sure to get through it all, so that by the time the middle and back of the group got to what she was describing she was gone and talking about the next thing. Walking was very strenuous so be prepared for hills and uneven cobblestones and steep steps. Regardless, Pompeii is worth seeing, and it was good that she told us what to look for so when we went to the other side on our own we knew what some things were. The map was helpful also. The Roman side had a nice walkway built making it easier to walk.

The archaeologist was very knowledgeable and attentive to us all. It really made the experience much richer to have someone such as Paolo who was very kind, attentive as well as a real archaeologist. This was very exciting to us. The only downside was the women’s toilet queues were lengthy at both locations. During our limited lunchtime we spent most of it waiting for the facilities so rushed eating. When we arrived at Herculaneum I had to queue for a very long time to use the facilities, holding up the tour. This felt very stressful for me. Women’s queues are often very long for things such as these and time should be factored in for this, especially given there were only 2 toilets for a queue of 25 women. On a hot day, you cannot afford to not drink water to stay hydrated. Other than this, the tour was very well organised. I personally found taking photos of dead bodies in both locations distasteful and not respectful so I was surprised at this practice, but that was not the fault of the tour guide.

Giovanni was the best! He was so friendly and knowledgeable. He made sure we were comfortable the entire ride. I loved the food he suggested for us to eat. He was amazing and I’d highly recommend him.

Alessandra was an amazing guide, very clear and friendly. We enjoyed the tour, the way she explaiend historical facts and theories ariund uncertain topics.

Amazing experience learning about the history of the site. Guide was great and full of knowledge. 2 hours is not enough. Take the tour guide then go on yourself once it’s finished.

Our tour today with Paolo was incredible. Pompeii is not to be missed and it was brought to life by Paolo he was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. His insights into how people lived and knowledge of the details like graffiti really made the day special. Spending the extra for a tour is well worth it.

Pompeii is massive, our tour guide knew how to get around and the important facts and stories to tell. We had a group of 18 which was manageable. You really need to be pretty fit and to be able to negotiate uneven walking surfaces, which we were easily to do.

It was an excellent tour with a passionate and first hand knowledgeable archaeologist! Clear, concise, comprehensive information of Herculaneum site and culture of the day.

I really enjoyed this tour led by Carmen. As promised, he talked about the life and community of Pompei versus historical facts and dates. This made Carmen’s tour easy to follow and interesting. I’m not sure that the tour guides are archeologists as advertised but this didn’t take away from my enjoyment of tour.

It was pretty good. Lucio was a good guide & very passionate. An interesting day. I would have preferred more time looking at the sites & less time having detailed explanations. Also with 23 people it is misleading to call it "small groups".

The tour was really really good. The archaeologist was very professional and also articulated in a very clear and organised way. People could understand very easily. She was also very patient and showed care to the group. I really enjoyed this tour and would say the best. Highly recommended.
