See Naples and then die…the indelible description of a city that literally embraces visitors with its fresh local cuisine, the animated and theatrical characteristics of its inhabitants, and its lust for life. Discover a city that teems with energy and is animated by contradiction, regarded by many as the most alive, creative, and beautiful city in Italy. How could one resist spending time in what Goethe once called a “little devil’s paradise?” One can’t die without having seen it!

Amazing Amalfi Coast tour from Port of Naples
The views along the Amalfi coast from Naples were breathtaking! We LOVED Roberto!! He was a fantastic guide--pointing out wonderful sites and telling us about the background and history of small churches, the lovely lemon & chestnut trees, and driving us on the amazing scenic route! He even arranged for a visit & tasting at a small lemoncello factory at lemon groves near Ravello. Roberto was very interesting, patient, and informative. We found him to be very charming and easy going---just what we needed! The only suggestion we have is that one hour in Positano is not enough! We would have loved to be in Positano for 90 minutes or more. Ravello was beautiful, Amalfi was too crowded & not so great, but Positano is wonderful!!! We just didn't have enough time! Thank you, Roberto, for a fantastic day!

Private transport with tours of Herculaneum and Pompeii
Vincenzo at Mondo Guide set up the perfect day trip for us. Our driver Raffaele was prompt, safe and shared good stories. He coordinated the meet ups with two guides - Floriana and Manuela for Herculaneum and Pompeii. They were both so knowledgeable and moved us expertly through the crowds. Raffaele also arranged a lunch reservation for us. We couldn’t have been happier and give the highest recommendation!

Great tour from Naples for cruisers at port for the day!
Andrea and Daniel were great with lots of info on history (but not too much) and what to expect where and when. We would definitely recommend it to everyone to get an idea of the different areas but we would want more time in Sorrento and Positano.

    What a great day!!
We truly enjoyed our day! Domenico was a great driver, especially compared to some of the drivers we have had here! 😬 Andrea was one of the best tour guides we have had. He was very attentive to the group’s needs, made sure we were doing well. I was impressed how he knew all our names and drew us into the conversation. He was knowledgeable, interesting, and clearly passionate about history and Naples. We are so glad we found your tour company!! Thank you for a memorable day!!

Fun and relaxing boat trip to Capri
We very much enjoyed our boat trip to Capri. Our captain Damiano and our guide did a great job describing the sights and made sure we were always comfortable. We were not able to see the blue grotto due to the choppy weather conditions, but Damiano took the boat around the entire island and made numerous stops to see other grottos and even a waterfall! We had 4 hours on Capri to check out the island on our own which was nice. We also made a stop to allow some of the group to swim before heading back to Sorrento. Would definitely use them again!

    Awesome Tour
We had a great day on our tour. Andrea was an excellent guide. He was knowledgeable, entertaining and fun to spend the day with. Francesco was also a great driver on what can only be described as challenging roads. This is a well put together tour with a good variety of activities, we highly recommend it to others. Our guide, Francesco, was punctual, professional, knowledgeable, and his self-deprecatory sense of humor softened his remarkable depth of knowledge about Neapolitan history, culture and architecture. I would recommend him unconditionally. He devoted extra time after our tour to give us personalized advice about our continued stay in Napoli.

We were met at the train station in Naple by Mafelda our tour guide. She was full of excitement and energy of no other. The train ride was arranged for us from Florence to Naples by Vincenzo the owner of Mondo tours. It was seamless. He was so accommodating and was always available to answer questions. Mifilda was awesome and we learned so much while having fun. I wouldn’t travel any other way than having a private tour with Mondo. Amazing!

This provides a good highlights walking tour, and i recommend it. There was only three of us on the tour, so it felt very personal. The guide, Francesca, was enthusiastic, clearly loved her adopted city and shared that with us. thank you

Vincenzo lead a small group of us through the narrow streets of the historic old-town in Naples. We started from the steps of the Museo Nazionale de Archeologia and into a shopping mall similar to La Galleria in Milan. This one isn’t operating but is a beautiful building. The waterfront has a version built in the same era that was full of shops and people.

We ducked into s number of churches, walked a narrow street full of miniature Christmas manger scenes for sale, and heard about Naples’ underground city.

One church has a chapel lined with saints sculpted in silver and paintings done on copper. It is a stunning display of the wealth of the Catholic Church in the 1500s. Only it isn’t owned by the church but by the people of Naples.

Vincenzo is well-informed and fun to listen to. The group was small and organized through a partnership Mondo Guide has with Rick Steves. Plus it was 25 Euros for three hours, a good deal. You’ll also get a sense of the many different cultures involved in settling and ruling Naples over the past 2,500 years.

Our tour started at the National Archeological Museum. Frederica was our guide and we liked her immediately. She was very friendly and made the tour interesting and fun. We saw churches, piazzas, people, food, frescos and so much more! My husband and I were both very pleased with the whole tour. Thank you Frederica!

Vincenzo was great! His tour was well paced and informative, and he happily responded to all of our questions. Napoli is a brash, beautiful city, and can be intimidating to a visitor. Vincenzo demystified it and his passion for his town was contagious. He gave us insight on the culture and unique style of Neapolitans. Five out of five stars!

We booked a shared tour and two of our group dropped out so we only had five people. Francesco gave us the option to tour the historic center or take the funicular up to the top of Vomero Hill. We opted for the latter since we had spent the morning walking around the historic center on our own. From the top we had spectacular views of the city and the Bay of Naples. Francesco told us about the old fort which we passed, and then he took us through the San Martino national museum which was very interesting and had more amazing views. It is a part of Naples we never would have thought to go to and were happy to have been offered the option. We very much enjoyed the tour and hearing Francesco's stories of growing up in Naples.

I loved my visit to Pompeii and Naples National Archaeological Museum. In Pompeii I was completely taken back by the land and learning more than I thought I ever would made it unforgettable. And viewing all the artifacts in the Museum was breathtaking. Vincenzo Russo was an absolutely amazing tour guide and If I were to ever come visit again I would most definitely contact him or request him! I would recommend him to anyone who wanted to go visit. But most of all he answered all of the questions I had and when I didn’t have any questions he would tell me very interesting things that would make me think of a question and then he would answer my question perfectly. He made the trip fun! He was an amazing guide and was my favorite guide while I was in Italy over spring break!

Sincerely,
Miles Smith

MONDO GUIDE

We were on a Mediterranean cruise from Venice to Rome in early July. Our final stop before disembarkation in Rome was Amalfi. My husband had the brilliant idea to disembark in Amalfi and travel to Naples. After researching local guide services, we contacted Mondo Guide to arrange a tour of the Amalfi coast and transportation to Naples. We also inquired about tours of Pompeii, Mt. Vesuvius, and Capri. Within hours of our initial inquiry, we had an email response from Vincenzo. By day’s end, Vincenzo contacted me by telephone, and within hours, he arranged a five day excursion beginning in Amalfi and including a Naples city tour, Capri, Herculaneum, Pompeii, Mt. Vesuvius, and the Phlegraean Fields. Our guide, Patty, and driver met us promptly upon arrival at the pier in Amalfi. We spent a lovely day touring Amalfi, Ravello, and Positano before driving on to Naples late that evening. Vincenzo arranged hotel reservations for us at the Hotel Santa Lucia on the waterfront across from the Catel dell’Ovo (The Egg Castle). The waterfront and surrounding area were quite safe, and we were able to walk to a number of lovely nearby restaurants in the evening.

Our guide for Day Two was Mario who introduced us to the historic city center and the National Archeological Museum. This day was made even more fun as we toured the city in an open air, three-wheel vehicle that was recently put into service. It was a little bumpy, but still quite comfortable, and we loved the “natural air conditioning.” Being a new phenomenon, we attracted a lot of curious onlookers, so we felt a bit like celebrities.

Day Three, our guide Serena, met us in the lobby of our hotel and escorted us to the nearby ferry for a day trip to Capri including a private boat tour of the island including an onboard picnic. Upon arrival in Capri, Serena took us to a wonderful bakery/delicatessen where we purchased a nicely chilled bottle of white wine and “Caprese” sandwiches — freshly baked rolls with thinly sliced prosciutto with thick slices of fresh tomato and mozzarella. Following the boat tour, Serena, and our local driver, led us on a lovely tour of Capri and Anacapri. It was a full, but fun day, taking in the sites and sampling local wines and gelato.

Days Four and Five, we were with Andrea who, on Day Four, led us through Herculaneum as well as Pompeii. This was my husband’s fourth trip to Pompeii….my second…so Andrea took us through the areas less traveled, and we were able to enjoy a truly unique experience. Following lunch and wine tasting at the base of Vesuvius, Andrea led us on a somewhat strenuous, but enjoyable, hike to the top of the volcano. Day Five, Andrea led us on a truly magical day full of interesting sights and surprises including the Phlegraean Fields and the Solfatara Volcano. Andrea also showed us that Naples hides an amazing number of ancient ruins beneath such modern structures as apartment buildings and parking garages. It was a whole day of, ”Wow!”

All of our guides were extremely personable, knowledgeable, and all spoke impeccable English. We requested a high paced agenda, and thanks to Vincenzo and the guides, we checked off everything on our bucket list while still having time for a daily lunch break including some the fabulous local wines.

We are already looking forward to our next visit to Naples, and we will look forward to touring with the Mondo Guide when we return.

My wife and I visited the Amalfi Coast for the first time in May of 2014 and were lucky to have booked a private tour with Mondo. We met Vincenzo Russo at the train station at the Pompeii Ruins and he provided us with a full day of his knowledge of the area, including an unforgettable walking tour of Naples. Vincenzo is not only entertaining but also a wealth of information. The tour was well worth the cost because Vincenzo knows exactly what to see at each location. He not only saved us valuable time but also provided background and historical information which we would not have known without extensive research. This gentleman knows his stuff and his command of the English language is excellent. His energy level is amazing. At our request we stopped at a local deli for a take-out lunch of authentic Neapolitan cuisine and continued our tour as we ate. There was not a minute wasted and we covered a lot of territory although we never felt rushed. Vincenzo is yours for the day and you set the pace. He is very willing to adapt to your individual wishes. If my wife and I had visited everything we saw that day on our own, it would have taken at least two full days due to the extra time involved with logistics.

Vincenzo was genuinely excited about every place we visited and one would have thought he was showing these sights to two of his best friends for the very first time. It would be impossible to spend the day with him and not have some of this excitement rub off. And his broad knowledge of history, archaeology, and even art was astounding.

We would highly recommend Vincenzo if you are wanting both an educational and enjoyable experience while visiting the Amalfi Coast area. You'll not regret it and you will have gained a friend in Italy you will never forget.
