About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Jose P0 contributionsGreat view of Rome, well located, the River and the Vaticano are really close. The history of the place is good too.Better than expected, I thought the building would be more deteriorated. A little hot in the museum rooms and the bar/ cafeteria was closed.Written October 12, 2024
- Sonia K0 contributionsWorth every cent! The ticket got us entry to every part and was worth every cent! It was a fabulous tour and we couldn’t have been happier. Only critique is that there was no address on the ticket and being a tourist just meant that I had to have access to the internet to look it up. Minor but would have been easier to have it on there.Written October 6, 2024
- O3871SJireneb0 contributionsBummed in Florence with ticket cancellationTickets for this tour were purchased in June 2024 through the Trip Advisor app with Viator as the provider and Weekend in Italy as the local tour company for an Oct 3 visit. We were so excited to see the David in Florence & planned for this event celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary far in advance. I contacted the local tour operator a couple months ahead of our trip to ask about voucher redemption and was told to check for an email a couple days prior to our tour date for a timed entry voucher. When I did not receive a message by Oct 1, I contacted the local company again but received an email on Oct 2 & the day before our tour the local company cancelling our reservation stating they were unable to provide us our tickets due to high demand. We were unable to obtain substitute tickets from the museum site or other vendors for any of our remaining days in Florence as this attraction sells out far in advance. We were so disappointed that Trip Advisor contracts with this shoddy operator and know now to book tickets on the local attraction sites and not through Trip Advisor & Viator. We were refunded our ticket fee but we would have much preferred to visit the Gallery & the David statue as we even booked our accommodation just down the street from the museum for easy access. We had no other problems with our other Trip Advisor bookings for this trip, but this was such a monumental disappointment as we are both in our 60’s & will likely not be able to visit Florence again. Bummed.Written October 4, 2024
- F5467BHstevew0 contributionsTook my money and didn’t deliverThey cancelled on us the day before we got to Florence stating that they couldn’t acquire any tickets for our reserved time, this was a non refundable purchase and I am out $91 for 2 tickets. Poor serviceWritten October 2, 2024
- yokos8320 contributionsNot worth of money and timeI went at 9:15am 9-15-24. Not crowded at all. Only few visitors were there. You do not need a skip-the-line ticket. You can go and get a ticket and enter. That is much cheaper. I felt I rather waisted money. I also learned after I bought a ticket that Leonard’s Virtuviral man has not been exhibited for a while. I was really disappointed. .Written September 30, 2024
- 378nedg0 contributionsFabulous gallery! This is an outstanding collection of art housed in a magnificent palazzo! There are knowledgeable art historians in every room to answer questions about the paintings, sculptures and the rooms. Wonderful views across Rome from the beautiful gardens. We were fortunate to be able to buy tickets at the door, because Viator failed to timely deliver tickets to us which we purchased more than a month prior to our trip. Viator did not tell us they had not purchased tickets for our scheduled day until the day before our entry. Do not buy a voucher from Viatar to see this gallery--you are better off going by the gallery and making the purchase yourself.Written September 29, 2024
- 730alexs0 contributionsTerrible local tour provider and messy communication with TripadvisorFirst of all, I never received actual tickets by email, I had only original voucher from Tripadvisor/Viator. Just a day before this tour was planned, I got a message from a local tour operator (Maria) that this tour is cancelled due to their inability to get an access to Montreale on that day. This message was sent to the internal Viator mailbox and I got it just by accident. The message recommended to contact Tripadvisor immediately to request a full refund. When I tried to this online, even though the tour was cancelled by the provider, the text on the screen warned that if I push cancel, no refund will be issued. I called local provider (Palermo) and he again said I have to contact Tripadvisor as they have my money and they should refund to my credit card. I asked him if they will inform Tripadvisor about this situation themselves, but his answer was confusing. Now, I really do not know how to contact the Tripadvisor/Viator help desk to resolve this issue. Please, send me an explanation on my next steps using my email address from my account and message on my Iphone.Written September 28, 2024
- Joan C0 contributionsA little-known Roman jewelWe have visited Rome many times but only learned of this amazing family-owned (and still family-inhabited) palace on this trip. It is an incredibly beautiful place filled with gorgeous treasures. Our guide, Rossella, led our group of two couples along with about ten others throughout the palace and both entertained us and filled us with knowledge and family history on the two hour English tour. This is a unique site which contains artwork and treasures not found anywhere else in Rome. We saw works by major and minor artists which spanned history from Ancient Rome to the twentieth century, including family photographs of the current prince and his parents and grandparents. The professionalism of the public-facing staff, the care and respect for the palace and its beautiful gardens with its views of the city reflect the love of both the family and the staff for this incredible jewel of Rome.Written September 27, 2024
- mikeonthemtn0 contributionsGood museumGood history on the Murano glass making with lots of examples of historical pieces. Only takes about an hour or so to visit the museum. Well worth the 10euros.Written September 27, 2024
- Climber180674536300 contributionsMedici ChapelOf course the Medici Chapel was amazing. Word of warning. I reserved skip-the-line tickets about 6 weeks before going to Florence. Trip Advisor reported that my tickets were confirmed but that I wouldn't receive the tickets until 2 days before the date to see the site. Then 2 days before, I was notified that due to scheduling issues, I wouldn't get my tickets!! Blew my travel schedule. But.... I went over to the Medici Chapel and bought tickets and got right in!!! There were few people in the line. If you find yourself in this situation of not getting the actual tickets, don't count on it and chances are that you can buy tickets on site.Written September 25, 2024

- sqfairchild0 contributionsSkip this oneDon’t waste your time reserving your tickets here. Ours got cancelled the day before we were supposed to visit the museum. We went to the museum anyway and purchased tickets there and walked right in. The museum itself is very interesting. Btw we did get a refund from Viator, which we appreciated.Written September 22, 2024
- Stay6905420 contributionsSuper interestingGreat to walk straight in and bypass the ticket queue, this is such an interesting monument. Fits really well with doing a Vatican/Sistine/St Peter’s Basilica tour in the morning then grab lunch and sit down for a well needed break and do this later, as it’s quite nearby.Written September 20, 2024
- Nancy E0 contributionsGreat Museum! The huge statues were definitely impressive. I went primarily to see the artifacts from Pompeii and was not disappointed. So many amazing items from over a thousand years ago. Would love to have had more time to spend there.Written September 18, 2024

Imperdible!

It is very worth taking the funicular in Montesanto Square and climbing to the entrance to the aforementioned palace. And after a tour to its top, enjoy the magnificent 360° views of Naples, its port and the sea.
Logically, both the hop on and hop off in the funicular, and the entrance to the palace are paid.
This visit is one of the “must” in Naples

It seems inaccessible when you see it from the port but it is easily approached thanks to the funicular.
Affordable ticketing, free for children.
A 360-degree view of the city is simply magical.

The views are amazing, but at the entrance they didn't even give us a sad map, although it wasn't very necessary since it was just an uphill ramp. The person who sells tickets, drier than a bone, to say the least, didn't explain anything to us.
What was perhaps worth it was the cloister that is a little beyond the entrance of the castle, and the views will not be as spectacular, but for me, enough.

C’est un endroit a ne pas manquer ! La vue est imprenable sur Naples. Le prix est minime (5€ pour les adultes et gratuit pour les moins de 18 ans).
Nous nous sommes rendus au château en funiculaire et sommes redescendus à pieds.
