    Naples Underground
I took the tour of the underground the year before (2018) and took my friends this year as I’d enjoyed the tour so much. The tour this year was still good however, we chose the English speaking tour and myself and my 2 friends struggled to understand the guide - she did say she was having an operation on her throat the following month - the tour guide did not give the in-depth information on the tunnels I’d received the previous year (for example: the lives of African slaves lost building the tunnels, the building of the tunnels was never mentioned). Still a good tour but I felt disappointed for the rest of my party that it wasn’t as good or informative as the pervious year

    Great winetour, great host
Me and my friends did the winetour and winetasting in October. Communication with Mario in advance was great. Very helpfull and clear about the meeting point and time. He brought us to the vineyards. A beautiful place with views of the sea and vesuvius. A very helpfull host took us on a tour through the vineyards. After that a great wine tasting and lunch. But Mario did more. We decided after the tour that we wanted to go to Pompei as it is nearby. Mario arranged on the spot that he would drop us off and, as he was busy that afternoon, took care of our pick up by another driver. As he knew when the pick up would be, he contacted me if everything was going as planned. I recommend Mario and his tour to everyone visiting the area.

Great guide, very nice family run vineyard!
Mario picked us up right outside our hotel in busy Naples. On the way to the vineyard he told us everything we needed to know and more! He even gave us his watts app if we had further questions on what to do and where to go in Naples! So helpfull! The vineyard itself is like it's written out of a Italian fairytale! Mumma in the kitchen and kids helping out where they can! Don Paulo walking around entertaining the visitors questioning why they are so tall?! The food was great, prob some of the best pasta we had all holiday. Simple but bags of flavour and great accompaniments with the wine. The wine itself you can tell they have worked very hard on it! The frizzante is Venice quality and flavourful with minerality and lovely flavours of granny Smith apple, pear, melon etc. The Don Paulo 100% Anglinico is probably the best example of one of my favourite grapes! The complexity & balance is incredible! I had one glass and it just kept giving every sip! We were supposed to try 5 wines but it rained. We explained to them don't worry we live in the NW of England it rains every day we don't mind doing the vineyard tour. They said do you wanna try more wines until it stops? 9 I think the total was and more treasures were discovered (Joe Anglinico for 1!) All in All a great day out and a good experience of an Italian family run vineyard.

    Well worth doing!
Booked in advance and went at 10 for English speaking guide. Good to book first to save queuing. We had an excellent guide and learnt a lot about the history of the tunnels. There were some very narrow parts to walk through in the dark with a small light, should you feel nervous or claustrophobic. Found it very good value for money.

    Interesting but not that amazing
By looking at the pictures, we had the impression that we would find a whole Roman city below the current Naples. It was not exactly what his ur is about. Most of the tour covered the cisterns, the water deposits used for several centuries which were also used as air-raid shelters during the war. The groups were very big and it felt crowded. The guides are nice students reciting some history passages. It is a good escape during the hot summer days, but don't expect more than some interesting facts, some underground water deposits and a lot of narrow passages. Better to avoid if you are claustrophobic, or have mobility limitations.

Not to Be Missed in Naples!
We were introduced to this site on our free walking tour, and decided to do at the end of the day (6PM--finally English-speaking tour). This was a complete surprise. What a unique experience. This is a portion of the city that is completely underground. We took an impressive 2+ hour tour of the 249-mile system of quarries, aqueducts and underground tunnels that were originally built by the Greeks, used by the Romans, then abandoned during the Cholera epidemic, and reused again in WWII as a fallout shelter and home to displaces residents. The tour included climbing up/down 169 steps, passing through highly claustrophobic 1km walks in dark narrow walls (where you have to walk sideways with only a small candle to light the way) which lead to 3 large cisterns. The tour then ascends above ground where you walk across town to a former grandma's apartment which is now part of an 8-story high apartment complex. As you visit the grandma's furnished apartment (all left intact), the guide moves her bed to reveal a trap door underneath which leads to a entire Roman theater! It existed more than 1500 years ago but remained undiscovered to the residents until about 30 years ago. What a trip! A must visit!

    Good visit
The underground itself was great. About 1.5 hours. Our tour guide did a good job explaining everything. If you get the option of including a pizza, don’t do it. The ticket to the underground is about $10 each and you can get pizza anywhere for about $10-12 each and you don’t have to wait for that particular one opens up.

    Not much to see
We were both disappointed in the tour. It was incredibly disorganized with too many people in the tunnels to really be able to hear the guide - and many people in our English-speaking group were disgruntled about this. Further, there seemed to be absolutely no organization in how to get groups of the various languages in a line for entrance. Our guide was lovely - very articulate and passionate about the tour. However, there is really not much to see. I am an historian and expected to hear much more about the Underground, as well as expected to see more than cavernous rooms and hard to navigate spaces. The Roman ruins were much more interesting, but we only spent about 5 minutes there. For the cost of the tour, I did not believe it was worth it.

    Underground Naples
The tour was amazing! The tour guide was funny but to the point when needed for safety reasons. She was also very knowledgeable on all the places we visited. Definitely saves time and money to get your tickets with them. You show up and you get a tour, no waiting around for hours and killing your precious vacation time.

    Wine tour with lunch
Great experience , the sorrentino vineyard was excellent . Mario picked us up right outside our apartment and drove us to the wine tour , explaining interesting facts to us on the way ! The lunch and the wine were delicious and plenty of it ! The location is stunning, with views of mount Vesuvius and the coast line . Mario was very helpful and even went out of way to show us the sea side of Napoli and recommended a restaurant to try in the evening . He also gave us his number and if we had any problems to contact him. Would certainly recommend this trip . Thank you Mario

A fabulous evening on boat and at restaurant
Mario made us have a fabulous evening. Great visit of the bay by fisherman's boat, then gastronomic menu in a restaurant in the centre of Naples. An unforgettable evening! Mario is very kind, attentive, professional, punctual, and knows the region very well, which he describes with enthusiasm.

Well worth the visit. Booked ticket online, timings worked well. Guide was clear. Very interesting and well worth the visit. If claustrophobic You can still ho and opt out of the confined spaces. Quite a few steps involved and no lift back.
