Itinerary
- 1Join the group and have lunch in a typical Italian pizzeria to enjoy a pizza and a soft drink (included). You'll drive through the town of Torre del Greco to Vesuvius National Park, then hike to the summit of Vesuvius to take a walk around the eerie crater at 3,900 feet (1,200 meters). Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes! A medium to high level of fitness is required to complete the climb. From the summit, the panoramic views of the Bay of Naples have captivated visitors for centuries. Then, peer down into the depths of the crater to see plumes of steam issuing from the sleeping, but still active, volcano. After that return to your coach and travel back to Naples. Your tour finishes at the start point in the afternoon.

- Daniel S0 contributionsPompeii a must see place.Excellent Tour Guide. Very informative and humerus. Highly recommend this tour. I definitely would return for this tour again.Written December 5, 2024
- Jeff N0 contributionsFor the best tour, Get the best tour guideVisiting Pompei is fascinating. But Elisa, our tour guide, brought day to day life of a bygone civilization to life. Her historical knowledge of ancient times and how those they events help shape our modern society was informative as well as entertaining. Elisa was a fabulous guide who figuratively brought Pompei back to life. Request her by name (Elisa) and you’ll get your money’s worth out of this tour.Written December 5, 2024

- Sk8terL0 contributionsGreat walk thru historyPompeii was amazing, although the guide’s heavy accent made it difficult to understand at times. I felt like she did a good job of showing us the most important sites and explaining it well. Fascinating.Written November 12, 2024
- Cindy E0 contributionsGreat walk through history!Amazing, so much history, great tour guide with good sense of humour! Not too many steps for my sore knees! The roads still in tact from 6th century BC!Written November 6, 2024
- melissamaloufm0 contributionsJust okay. This was mostly transportation to and from the different places. The guide we had at Pompeii was good, but we were a large group and it was hard to hear unless you were really close to the guide.Written November 3, 2024
- Jonbatch0 contributionsBe ready for hairy mountainous drive but you have an expertFriendly driver - tour was as described- got us back on time. Crazy mountainous roads did not expect. Lots of drive time and a reasonable amount of visit time. Personally i would like more visit time and less stopsWritten November 2, 2024
- Christine B0 contributionsWonderful 1/2 day out!Our guide was very knowledgeable, took us to the best places in the time provided! Very interesting!! Would definitely recommendWritten October 18, 2024
- Adam S0 contributionsPrayYou need to go in winter it's less crazy. The problem was waiting for everybody in the morning when we was getting picked up. Honestly the guide was good. I felt we missed out stuff. Now the worst bit was the food. My word it was like canned dog food. Honestly if you have the pizza. Bring your own it's very oily . The Gnocchi was like somthing out a tin in the super market. Your pay 4 euro a coke. Plus your driver will be on his phone driving in the middle of two lanes of traffic. Trust me pray your make it home. All in all it was okWritten October 13, 2024
- 54maireadr0 contributionsa step back to roman times for 4 irish ladieswhat a place higher than i expected as knew it had been covered by 30 ft of ash we paid for a guide 4 of us well worth it history stories explinations no problem really liked the stepinng stones in streets and the no vehicular access It leads to a lot of thought how sofisticated they were how sudden it was the detail visible to everybody a look back in time the roman forum as I imagined it the little shops and the takeaway food of then with the splendour of the rich houses Its a thrill to see actual floor tiles they used.. by the way the squeezed orange juice across the road really hit the spot after great experienceWritten October 11, 2024
- steve p0 contributionsA must seeGreat trip. Well organised with fantastic scenery. Shame it was cloudy but it didn't dampen our mood. A must visit for sureWritten October 9, 2024
- adnaang20240 contributionsDon’t bother, do a self guided tour insteadGuide just rambled on, came away not knowing anything about Pompeii. Waste of time and money. Better off to self exploreWritten October 8, 2024
- Ian00720130 contributionsDon't Go in the Rainy SeasonThe tour operators did the best they could considering the buckets of rain that were falling down throughout the day and, to their credit, they did get us up to Vesuvius and through Pompeii. Would have been happy to skip the spot where they took us to a guy trying to hawk limoncello. That was very unnecessary. The guide was very good as we followed her in the downpour and they did provide us trashbags once we left the restaurant.Written October 4, 2024
- kericulver0 contributionsGreat tripGennaro was great and facilitated everything. Doing both of these in one day is physically tiring but efficient, and with so much to see in Naples, we really enjoyed this trip. Our guide at Pompeii Elisa (sp?) was fantastic and fun. I recommend this trip.Written October 1, 2024

by the time you arrive to the coach park you know there is not far to go now.
Well its 1000 metre climb from here. The first bit of path is fairly steep, but once you get passed the 4th turn, its all gradually up hill from here. Takes about 30 minutes in good shoes - NO FLIP FLOPS !

This half-day tour is an easy and beautiful way to see Vesuvius if you want to forego the hassles of planning. I signed up for this tour the day before so I was apprehensive about how it would go, but I could easily reach my contact on my phone, they answered all of my questions, and they picked me up very close to my hotel even though I registered last minute. Busses were comfortable, and the tour guide was informative. The hike up the mountain is nothing to worry about (I have an Achilles' heel injury and am quite out of shape, but I wore runners and brought a water bottle and it was fine). The view the whole way up was absolutely stunning!
A tip: if you're worried about the weather complaints, as have been mentioned in other reviews, I'd recommend booking closer to the date.

Very nice trip and quite well organized. There is a lot of people coming from different directions, doing the whole tour (Pompeii - Vesuvius) or only one part, so there is also a little chaos, but great Ladies there on the place do their best to keep the tour going smoothly (thank you!). Nice pizza, great Vesuvio, transport also worked very well (hotel pick-up). Please keep in mind that you won't have much time to climb up and admire the views, so go up quickly to have these 20 or 25 minutes on the top. Good trip and worth its price (transport, Vesuvio ticket, pizza + wine are all included, so it is really not expensive at all).
