Had a great tour of Pompeii with a very knowledgeable guide, a great lunch with lovely wines at a vineyard and then the drive to Vesuvius and the walk which gave us fantastic views of the crater and the Bay of Naples. The tour was well organized and communicative, picking us up right outside our hotel. We even stopped for a simple, yet delicious lunch with wine and music at a local shepherd’s hut high above with breathtaking views. Nino was the best guide; kind, funny and knowledgeable. The driver was particularly entertaining and handled the tricky and narrow roads with ease. The guide in Pompeii was very knowledgable. This was my family’s long waited Capri trip and I was very excited to book the tour reading the reviews; however. It was like a cattle call. Too many people waiting for boats, crowded, non-personalized. we were given color coded tags and waited for our color to be called to board the boat.
The tour started with the Capri island which was terrible, so very crowded. We thought we would be on the water first. Regardless, once we landed, they tired to give us our sandwiches and it was only 10-10;30Am. We asked them to hold it till we returned back and they did.
Once on the island, they recommended a private shuttle to take you to mount solareno and back to anacapri. This was extra and I’m glad we did bc local transportation was impossible bc of the crowds. The chair lift was very cool and relaxing. 4 hours on the island was too much, would’ve liked more time on the water.
We walked and waited for our boat to pick us up which seemed like 1 hour of waisted waiting time.
Once on the water, they breezed by all the grottos, no time to take pictures. We didn’t approach the blue grotto. My teenage girls enjoyed the swimming but we were amongst a sea of other boats. No personal touch with this tour, nothing like advertised.
We didn’t have a seat on the shuttle back to the marina, my daughters had to share a seat for a 30 minute drive back. They miscounted and didn’t even try and rectify. I was in communication with Michelle, the person that helped me book the tour and she was confused when I reached out letting her know that we didn’t have a seat. Nothing was ever done, rather she reached out later asking how the tour was. Clueless!
Bottom line—they can’t handle the amount of people, it was crowded and their was nothing personal about this tour.
Would not recommend Buyourtour and Would suggest hiring a private tour and customizing.

We are sorry that you found our excursion too crowded and that your daughter had to share a sit on the shuttle back to the marina. Thank you for reporting this inconvenience to us. We will report it to make sure it never happens again. Unfortunately in this period the island of Capri is really full of people. Anyway we are happy that you enjoyed the cool and relaxing chairlift and that you are also glad to had taken the private shuttle, certainly better than the local transportation. Furthermore, the stop and the entrance to the Blue Grotto are not included in the tour, so we invite you to carefully read all the information before booking to avoid making mistakes in choosing and therefore in purchasing the tour. As you said we suggest you to choose a private boat excursion to Capri next time, so you may properly evaluate a private excursion suited to your needs.

I was very excited for this excursion because I read so many great reviews ; unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. We booked the 9am spot, and when it was 8:40am the company called to tell us that we would now be leaving at 10:30. It was a bit strange that they moved us to the later group because we had chosen specifically the earlier time so that we could get back earlier.
Once we arrived at the port there were several groups waiting to leave , probably like 60 people. We waited about 45 minutes before leaving. Be aware that the bathroom at the port does not have toilet paper or soap. When we asked for toilet paper we were told that it was not allowed there.
The boat was pretty cramped with 12 people on board , me and my husband were fine with laying on the front part of the boat, but everyone considering this trip should be aware that there is not enough room for all passengers to sit in a seat or to sit comfortably on the front of the boat: they required us to sit 6 in front and 6 in back . I felt bad for some of the older people who clearly needed a seat but had to be in the front where it’s more bumpy and you aren’t properly seated.
They were very stingy on the drinks, which was the most surprising thing to us. Not once did they offer anyone on board a drink, and when we requested a beer repeatedly they simply ignored us. It was rude. This happened to other passengers as well, not a single person was able to get a beer. To us , having fresh drinks on a boat ride is a must, so this frustrating and confusing considering what the description promised.
Another thing not as expected was: the caprese sandwich was given to us about 30 min before we docked on Capri, at this point everyone was starving because we had been on the boat for 2 hours-ish with no other food. When we all started to unwrap the sandwiches we were told we weren’t allowed to eat them on the boat and that we needed to wait till we were off. Why give them to us 30 min before we got off then? Just very strange.
Overall, the whole experience felt kind of cheap and not very ‘exclusive’ as I was hoping. The views were stunning , but I would choose a different tour operator next time that will make us feel like we are more welcome there and offer us drinks.

Hi Alexia, thank you for sharing your point of view. We are very sorry that this excursion did not live up to your expectations. As you have described there are various groups of people divided by color for each single boat and during your wait at the port the crew carries out the normal procedures for safety, sanitation, supply in order to leave ready and safe for the tour. Sorry for the bathroom at the port, but it is the bathroom of the bathhouse. The crew always explains that the toilets are on board the boat. The boat accommodates 12 people on board. If anyone was uncomfortable sitting, they could easily tell the crew so they could find the best solution. We are sorry about the drinks, but the drinks on board are usually served with a setting of a drink of your choice and free water for every necessary request. Furthermore, since it is a group tour, the timing for the organization of the tour must be respected.
However, we are delighted that you found the views stunning. We hope to see you again soon, maybe for a private boat tour that satisfy your every request.

From start to finish this was a brilliantly planned day out. Michele was extremely helpful via WhatsApp message, our drivers that picked us up and dropped us off took us to our door and were friendly and chatty and our actual boat tour was brilliant. Temperature checks on arrival and masks needed everywhere except the open air of the boat and hand sanitisation was offered regularly.
The boat trip itself was amazing. Our guides, Genado (sp?) and Joseph were really good fun and extremely knowledgable about all areas we went to. We were given honest advice about where to go on the island for the best pastry, ice cream etc and also where to avoid for over priced coffee. The sea was really, really choppy whilst we were on it and I’m not great in boats but I felt completely safe the whole time. We went swimming in a slightly different part of the sea due to the wind and choppiness and this was explained to us, again helping us to feel safe. We saw all of the famous sights and had a thorough explanation of them, even passing by some famous villas. We also went to a little natural waterfall which wasn’t on the itinerary so it was a nice surprise!!
All in all, we enjoyed every second of our day and it’s absolutely worth every penny that we spent. Thank you so much!

Trying to book a ticket was an experience absolute carnage queueing with awful customer care. The definition of rude comes to mind while trying to navigate your way to purchase a ticket! Nobody to help at the port! Once in Capri long queues in searing heat and no shelter to purchase a bus ticket, then proceed to a bus queue for another 45 minute queue! Expect pushing and people queue jumping as you wait for the tinier buses to arrive! Get squashed onto the bus until there’s literally no room then travel another 30 mi a to the funicular! This was actually fun but after paying 14 euros make sure you have another euro for the toilet at the top which were an absolute disgrace! You get to use the loo for free if you purchase the extortionate food and drinks! Headed to the town centre only to be part of thousands herding through the narrow lanes before sitting down in a restaurant and paying massively over the odds for basic food and drink! Could not wait to get off the island. I found the locals rude and totally unhelpful. If you want to go be prepared to be ripped off for everything! It definitely is not the wonderful island it is made out to be by the holiday companies

Dear dezmondo63, please make sure you have written the review to the right company. This review is not true and our excursion does not deserve 2 stars reviews. We do not sell tickets directly at the port, our excursions are sold days before through our professional costumare car available 7/7 days - 24/24hrs.
Capri is a very famous island, it is normal that during the high season there are many people (it's not our fault).

Amazing day out to Capri with fantastic hosts Antonio and Peno. The day starts with pick up directly from your hotel to the port where you can grab some food/drink as it is an early start. Once on board, you are introduced to your hosts who then keep you informed about the important spots along the route.
Drinks are included which is great and music playing. It was a choppy day so we had a blast bouncing over the waves. Once at Capri you are left to have free time (approx 4-4.5 hours) so enough to get around.
Personally we wanted to get to the chairlift so I would advise avoiding the bus from the bottom as the queue is ridiculous and taxi prices are insane. Instead, head up the stairs to Capri itself where you can get a bus much quicker to Anacapri. Once there go straight onto the chairlift to avoid queues which can build up to the top. Great fun on the single seats taking in the views. At the top you can have a drink and food at the restaurant which allows access to the toilets for customers. Otherwise it's the usual price for a toilet token.
Once back down, we took the 900 steps downhill to Capri. (Or bus if you want a return ticket). Capri itself itls beautiful little streets with all your designer shops. Celebs etc will have a great time shopping but we just window shopped and took in the buzz. (We were warned NOT to sit down for a drink in Capri as it results in €30 drinks compared to €10 takeaway price). Elsewhere on the island it's perfectly fine but a little inflated.
We then had a stop in the gardens on the way back down to the port for €1.50. Small but great views for photos.
Back on the boat, the party starts with drinks and shots. Soft drinks are available. All of which are included. You stop for a swim with floats and ball games. Antonio joined us for a dip.
You then head to the blue grotto which is open depending on the tide. It was closed for us as not even a kayak could enter the small entrance. So instead lemonchello shots and shoot back to the port.
Great day and would highly recommend. Worth every penny!!

The boat was very nice, comfortable and not too crowded. The captain was amazing as he was able to get us into grottos and the guide was incredibly informative and helpful on the island. I highly recommend the €15/person bus the guide on the boat will arrange for you. This takes you to Ana Capri and Capri on a set schedule that ensures you get back to the boat on time without waiting in bus lines. I left my iPhone in the transport on way back from Sorrento to Positano and the tour company was extremely helpful in locating it and arranging for me to pick it up the next day. I highly recommend this tour and this company.

We took the trip from Sorrento to Capri in August after booking online. From that point we were kept informed of the arrangements, itinerary etc by email and WhatsApp. Pick up from hotel was on time and when we got to the harbour it was busy as lots of trips leave at the same time but it was very well organised. Our ‘crew’ Giuseppe and Francesca were lovely. Very friendly and helpful. We spent four hours on the island then about two hours on the boat going around the island with an opportunity to swim half way round. The highlight was the chairlift to the top of the island where the views are amazing! Great day out. Capri is beautiful (and very hot!).

We had a great time! My favorite part of the trip was Luisa and Giacomo! They knew how to entertain, inform and pace the trip, and gave us good information about seeing the island of Capri. We paid an extra 12 Euros to take a sort of a Hop-on-hop-off bus that took us up to Anacapri, so we were able to take the amazing lift to the very top of the island, shop in Capri while our men hung out at the beach, and still have time for a drink before we had to get back on the boat. A great value, in my opinion. We had Caprese sandwiches, Prosecco, beer, water, limoncello, and fruit salad! Luisa was a great tour guide and Giacomo was a very accomplished captain, able to maneuver the boat in and out of the beautiful grottos and circle around under the Faraglioni rocks. Just a delightful day all around!

Fabulous trip. Best day of our holiday.
Picked up on time from hotel and taken to the boat. Very well organised.
Highlights were the fantastic crew (Cataldo and Charlie), the cable car with stunning views and the swim in the sea from the boat .
Their advice to take the semi-private bus was excellent (£15 euros) as you saw some of Capri, then we were taken to the cable cars followed by free time in Capri and then taken back to the boat.
Snack (tasty roll) and drinks included
Brilliant music played whilst we were taken at full speed to see the coast of Capri, including a fabulous swim which was so refreshing.
The crew made the day informative, full of fun and helpful. This trip should not be missed!

This was an overall terrible experience with this day. They changed the time and day of the tour with no warning and asked us to cancel our booking and re book directly via them if we wanted the day that we originally booked for!!
secondly we arrived at the departing location at 10:30am and were waiting for the bus for over an hour. This would have been fine if they came out and told us what was happening but they did not. The communication was terrible.
There was no lunch provided we got a small pack of chips and one can of drink nothing else. We only got three hours on capri not four hours despite advertising four hours. They also did not stop at all the locations they originally advertised.
There was not enough space at the back of the boat for everyone to sit so we had to sit at the front of the boat and it was extremely choppy! despite us been thrown up in the air the captain did not slow down. We all had bruises the following day from the rough sea trip.
The whole day was a waste of a money I recommend getting the ferry to capri or booking via another company.

Sometimes we changed the time of pick-up for better re-organization of the tour, traffic, cars and check-in by the port, but also we could’t predict well in advance if there is traffic or accidents, is not our foult.
As the descriptions luch is not provided, we provide snaks and soft drinks. For snacks we mean different pack of chips, nuts, olives etc..if you want to have a complete luch we suggested to go to the restaurant.
For soft drink we explain that there is 1 bottle of water per person and also coke or beer.
The itinerary of the boat tour alla round the island can change as skipper description due traffic, boats, sea conditions, but in any case the sight of the major attractions is ensured.
All our boat are homologated for 12 people and there is enought space for everybody but we can’t organize fixed seats from the office, you’re all people in holiday, free and there is only a need of organization between you on board.
We gave you a good service, one of the famous in Sorrento, everything is studied and organized down to the smallest details.
We hope to have you soon again as our customers as we can change your mind.

I am sure I booked this trip for 4 people on 10th April and paid for it - the money has come off my credit card statement on 11th April - but I have received no email confirmation and the trip is not appearing in my bookings with Trip Advisor.
