- Tour194122962030 contributionsGreat Place to stay in Italy.Great location to be able to see, town of Sorrento, Island of Capri & the Amalfi Coast. Picturesque town, fabulous restaurants and wonderful hotel.Written January 2, 2025
- james40720180 contributionsBreathtaking tour! The tour was very well done. Erica was a great host. The water was too high to enter the blue grotto which was obvious when we arrived there but we were advised at the beginning of the tour. The tour took us to the opening of several neat grottos and massive caves which was amazing. Several hours on land gave us enough time to visit Capri and do a bit of shopping. A nice end to the trip with some beer, champagne and fruit plus swimming in a calm bay area. A great days on the seas!Written November 16, 2024
- markpF6741SP0 contributionsTouring CapriWe had an amazing time visiting Capri on this private boat! The crew was amazing and made sure we had the best experience! As we toured around the island Vittorio shared information, gave us options of what we would like to do for the day and always made sure we had a beverage in hand! Highly recommend!Written November 9, 2024

Stopped off at the Blue grotto an amazing experience not to be missed!! A swim in the sea to top off the trip was surprisingly warm for this time of year. a highly recommended experience.Written October 29, 2024
- Cruiser2672980 contributionsWent to Capri because of weatherWe were unable to go on the Amalfi Coast tour because of weather but MBS offered to switch our trip to Capri or we could get a refund. We decided on Capri and so glad we did. We sailed with Mike and Agata who were great. They both gave us lots of information about the island and instructions for how to enjoy the island once there. Both were very personable and made the trip fun. We even got to stop on the way back for a swim in the Mediterranean. I would definitely recommend this excursion.Written October 14, 2024

The captain and host were very pleasant, attentive to people’s needs and provided just the right amount of information. The boat was very comfortable. - monique4680 contributionsWonderful boat ride to Capri! This boat tour was the highlight of our trip to Sorrento. Our captain, Massimo, was so entertaining and a great host. The day we went the water was way too rough to enter the blue grotto, but Massimo took us around to see other points of interest. We spent 3 hours on Capri and just opted to visit the beach club instead of taking a taxi around the island. After that we got back on the boat and were taken to a spot to swim. I absolutely loved swimming in the crystal clear blue water! I also loved that there were only 8 guests on the boat (as promised.) I recommend MBS as the experience was well organized and of course, we had the best captain!Written October 2, 2024

- melf7330 contributionsAmazing time on CapriFantastic day out with Theodoro to Capri island. He was very knowledgeable and made sure we were always comfortable. Pointed out and told us a lot of the history of the grottos and the cliffs as we were boating to Capri. We had 3 hours on the island for lunch and exploring, then he took us to some great swimming spots. Overall a great day out, highly recommend.Written September 30, 2024
- TucannonTrixie0 contributionsAmalfi vibes - all the good ones! This trip was my family’s favorite- and we did many tours! Alessandro was awesome! His energy and personality were contagious and he was great about narrating points of interest AND DJing! We stopped to swim and hang out after visiting Positano and then headed back to Sorrento. Water was too choppy to go to Amalfi, which we knew was likely the case from the beginning. They were offering refunds to people prone to sea sickness ( I am but popped a Bonine and wore motion sickness bands and never got sick. Highly recommend, my family of 4 enjoyed it, my kids are adults, and my pregnant daughter loved it also and rode without sickness. Highly recommend MBS for your coast tour from Sorrento!Written September 29, 2024

The boat ride over and back was very enjoyable. Not only was the weather beautiful and the water relatively calm in the morning, our boat captain, Flavio, added that extra flair with his informative comments along the way and his delightful personality. He was very friendly and accommodating. Delicious caprese sandwiches, water, beer and prosecco were provided for lunch. He made every effort to stop at all points of interest along the way and explained the history of each location. Masks, snorkels, and float tubes were provided allowing us to explore our own small blue grotto. It was a delightfully refreshing swim.
We had three hours to enjoy beautiful Capri taking in all the wonderful sights and scenery. This was very relaxing and enjoyable.
I gave this four stars and not five due to the very disappointing visit to the Blue Grotto. I would give this part of the tour only one star at best. When we arrived at the Blue Grotto, four of us had to transfer into a very small row boat. In order to make it through the very small opening, we all had to actually lay on the bottom of the boat scrunched into very uncomfortable positions. We had to time our entry with the wave action while maintaining these very awkward positions. Once inside, we repositioned ourselves to a slightly more comfortable position while the guide slowly rowed us around in a relatively small "grotto" and watching out so we did not run into the other 6-8 boats in there. The guide stated he would sing to entertain us, but he only sang literally two very short phrases from two different songs while the other guides sang in unison for about 10 minutes. To exit, we had to assume the contorted positions once again. When we finally made it back to Flavio's boat, the row boat guide had the audacity to demand a 5 euro "tip" from each of our four person group! Unbelievable!
Since this is the only way to get a boat tour with Flavio, go for it. He definitely makes it worth it, but don't expect much from the Blue Grotto.

Dario and Luigi were exceptional!
Dario was an expert skipper and passionate about giving us the best (if you’re seeking the shade, sit next to him to hear all about the coast) and Luigi was so friendly and helpful the entire day.
An early start is required, but Dario got us to the front of the Blue Grotto queue (other hotel guests on separate tours waited on their boats for 90 mins).
The gorgeous tour around the coast of Capri included stunning views and insights from Luigi and Dario.
In your free time, we recommend walking along the wide pedestrianised path on the cliffside to the botanical gardens (24 mins, and the climb up the slopes at the end will be in the shade in the mornings).
Our personal highlight was the swimming/snorkelling in the sea to get up close and personal with a shoal of fish! Luigi was kind enough to capture this snap of the two of us enjoying the swim.

The MBS Blu Charter team are all incredible. The boats are all comfortable and a nice size especially considering their tours are limited to 8-12 people. Seeing other boats from other companies packed with people made us appreciate our choice even more. The captains and skippers were all friendly and even provided their numbers for help/recommendations while on the entire Amalfi coast. We took two different tours with them, so if you see this paragraph twice at the start of the review for different trips, it wasn’t by accident!
The Capri tour was amazing. Despite getting to the Blu Gratto (cave) pretty early, there were other boats already there. Also note that people on Capri can get to the Blu Gratto on foot, so they have a system for deciding which group of people is in a particular spot in line for the boats to get into the Gratto itself. The fee for entry is not included in the boat tour because you pay the team at the Blu Gratto if you’re able to get in that day barring the conditions (weather, tide, etc). We were fortunate enough to get in on our day, and our skipper was entertaining the entire crowd with music and other things. The fee as of 08/2024 was €18/person which includes the entry and the tip to the row boat driver all in one. The 3hr stop on land was just enough time to sit at a cafe and walk around Capri. Time gets limited by the bus that takes you from the small marina to the city center and back for an additional nominal fee. This tour was a great way to get to experience the island by sea more than by land, but for a day trip from Sorrento it was perfect and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of doing one of these tours!

This trip was pre-booked a few weeks previously. We arrived at our meeting point which was clear and precise and were led to our vessel (12 people on this trip plus the skipper) in the Marina.
Our day lasted approximately 7-8 hours and we followed the itinerary as published. Highlights included the Blue Caves and nearly three hours free time on the island of Capri from Marina Piccola. During the cruise we witnessed dolphins and also the goats from which Capri is named, scrambling on the precipitous cliffs.
A special mention to Captain Flávio….he kept us entertained and updated with varied commentary on the local history and geography and we were in awe with his boat-handling skills. We will take the same trip again when we return to Sorrento.

Simply superb! It was my wife’s birthday and these guys made it very special! From the start to finish, they were engaging, fun and friendly. It was an uncle and nephew team who were first class (I didn’t remember their names but it was the 18th May and a 50th birthday in the name of Thomas so please pass on out thanks again). We went to capri and the blue grotto which were amazing but it was much more than that. They took time to go around the capri coast line taking us in and out of different costal cliff areas and explaining each part of it. We stopped off for a swim, provided refreshments and some food, then off it Capri to explore for about 3 hours. They even let my wife steer the boat as a birthday treat whilst everyone sang happy birthday to her. Blue grotto was amazing and a must do (even thought it looks a bit scary, the guys who run it are experts, so it’s perfectly safe). The guy who took us in also sung happy birthday and serenaded our group in Italian. Absolutely brilliant and highly entertaining tour, highlight of our holidays

Was very disappointed because my husband and I planned our whole portion of our trip around their half day boat tour. While landing at the airport the day before the anticipated trip a guide called me out of the blue on what’s app asking if we could come that afternoon instead due to expected bad weather (mind you the weather for the area was calling for nothing but perfect sunny skies the next 3 days). After saying that’d be impossible to switch since we were still at the airport they offered a full day boat tour the following morning, instead of our planned half day. While this was nice to offer the full day we were not interested because we were in town for a short period and had a lot we wanted to do and the half day option was the whole reason we
Booked with them in the first place. When asking about other half day options while we’re were in town, the reply was “ummm I think we’re cancelling those too for the same reason.” It felt like they just decided they didn’t want to do the tours at the scheduled afternoon time or were having a hard time getting the boat filled with enough people to make it worth their while for the time slot we chose. We eventually chose to cancel for a refund and went with a different company for the same time frame (no bad weather in sight). It was a bit pricier but we opted for a private boat tour where it was just the 2 of us and the captain and couldn’t recommend this OTHER experience more! I rate a 2 because they still gave the refund and were communicative throughout the process but, it completely derailed our itinerary of the few days we were there

We would highly recommend this trip to any one who wants to experience a private charter tour. We had reached last minute and yet they were kind enough to accommodate us on their Santa Maria boat!
From meeting up point to the boat Francesca who was our guide and host took us. There we were introduced to Gian Luca our captain. They both were kind and knowledgeable to show us around the places as well as answer all our questions. The spots for swimming, to the blue grotto tour everything fell right in place. One thing I liked the most is their understanding of how quick the line for the grotto gets busy. In order for the best experience for their guests they ensured we reached there as soon as possible in the morning so that we have the priority to enjoy the grotto tour.
If you are still thinking if you should be taking a tour with them or not, just TAKE IT!! It is a must and you should definitely take their tours!!

A fantastic tour. Ours set off early (8am) from Sorrento so we arrived at the blue grotto early before the row boats arrived so we didn't have to queue, in fact we were first in of the day.
The tour around Capri was well described by Ferdinando our guide, with lots of information.
We had a couple of hours to explore Capri and our guide pointed the way to the bus and taxi area and recommend a couple of places to see.
We than had lunch on the boat and pulled into a bay to swim. The sea was so blue and inviting.
We continued on around the island through the big natural arch and into a couple of other grottos.
Our captain was very skilled and kept out of the wash of other boats so the ride was smooth and gentle.
Highly recommend and with only a dozen on the boat there was plenty of room.
Ferdinando and the captain were a great double act and we had great fun.

Brilliant. We chose the shared boat tour to Capri. Friendly crew, stopped off outside the Blue Grotto but it was closed due to sea conditions which can’t be helped! She also explained certain beaches/landmarks along the coastline for us throughout the tour
The crew sorted bus tickets for us to get to Anacapri/Capri centre and back to the port (20 euros per person) on arrival
which was so helpful as we had read about the overly busy public bus! This was a private bus company not the public bus we had read about and was excellent as hardly any waiting around at all.
We were offered cans of soft drink/beer on the return journey and stopped off to swim on the way out and way back. All in all MBS Blu Charter gave us a fantastic experience and we would highly recommend.
Only advice I’d give (whatever boat trip you do) is the Anacapri chair lift was really good however we had 3 hours on capri in total and found it stressful to then fit in seeing the town + having a meal and ended up doing a quick walk down the Main Street and then a quick cafe lunch back at the port. Bear this in mind if you want a chilled sit-down meal or more time in the shops etc.

Wouldn't recommend this tour for the price we paid, we have had better tours at a lower rate. Your odds of entering the blue grotto is 50/50 depending on the weather. We had "tour guide" Alessandro treated this tour like his own party boat. Blasting the music to deafening levels, we requested for the music to be turned down on multiple occasions. He initially made efforts to turn down the music but towards the end he kept blasting his playlist (poor taste music) on repeat. We were seated next to the speakers as there were no other seats on top of the boat and when we requested him to turn down the music again his response was "why are you sitting next to the speakers" and "you are on the wrong boat". When we arrived in Capri 45 mins early due to missing out on the Blue Grotto he dropped us off in Capri and provided us with unhelpful instructions on catching Capri's public transport to Ani Capri, leading the rest of us tour guests baffled and confused waiting at a bus stop not knowing if transport would arrive. The "tour guide" could have spent the time to bring us all to the bus stop. The tour guide should have enabled us to spend more time exploring Capri due to skipping the Blue grotto. Upon returning back to the boat we became lost and contacted him to request for some assistance. On the phone call his response was "just meet me where I told you at the small marina" despite us explaining that we were lost. Obviously if we knew where small Marina was we wouldn't have called him. The only positive thing about this tour was that the boat was new.

If we are staying in Ravello is there public transport to get to Sorrento for th early morning departure?
Written February 18, 2024
Hello -
Ravello to Sorrento is about 90 min drive that can cost a lot by taxi. Look into taking the Ferry from Ravello to Sorrento 21 min ride Average ferry ticket price $23 (€20)
I hope this helps.

Around what time do you usually arrive to the island for your exploration time?
Written April 27, 2023
I believe we departed around 9Am and arrived at the Piccolo port around 10:30. They gave us until 3 I believe to get back to continue our island shoreline cruise. The town is not so large…so it was enough time to explore, have lunch and spend some time on the beach
Written April 27, 2023
When we arrive at Capri and get off to get our Blue Grotto tickets do we return to the boat for you to take us to the Blue Grotto?
How much Island / other exploration time is available?
Do we see or have time to, or does this tour include:-
-Bus ride to Anacapri
-take the chairlift to Monte Solaro,
-Walk with your guide through narrow streets to the fabled plaza, La Piazzetta,
- Circumnavigate the entire coastline of Capri by boat
1. Visit Faraglioni rock.
2. Go inside Green Grotto and White Grotto.
3. Pass by a natural arch, the lighthouse of Capri, the Marina Grande and Marina Piccola and finally the Coral Grotto.
Enable us to skip the line to get tickets?
We have booked tickets with you for May 2023 but I just wanted some clarification.

Highly recommend to take the earliest tour out to the grotto so you will not have to wait to long . the ticket for the grotto is bought right there when you get of the boat to get into the smaller boat for the grotto. CASH only and they expect tips lol.

On our tour , you have up to 3 hrs to enjoy but to be honest not enough time. My recommendations jump right into one of there taxi like 30 euro each way but well worth it. go straight to Anne Marie get on the cable you buy the ticket there and enjoy the cable lift the view is unbelievable, once at the top you will find a cafe for drinks and food and also toilets. TAKE the best pictures from here! then when you go back down via cable get your self a taXi back down to capri and grab some delicious lunch. ENJOY. TAXIS are cash operated.
