I highly recommend this tour. Ralph, our guide, is extremely knowledgeable on the history of both Pompeii & Herculaneum. He was able to tell the stories, in such a way, that you could picture the everyday lives & unfortunate deaths of the citizens. Again, Ralph’s knowledge was superior!!

I am writing a review on Tripadvisor because my review submitted to Tui has not been published. I suspect that only highly positive reviews make it onto the Tui site! Our trip from Sorrento to Pompeii and Vesuvius was generally enjoyable. The guided tour of Pompeii was informative, although it was only possible to see a fraction of the archeological site. Lunch was of an acceptable standard. The walk up Vesuvius was truly awe inspiring and well worth the effort. HOWEVER, if you are considering this tour, please be aware that it may take an excessively long time to reach your destination by coach. We were picked up from our hotel (outside Sorrento) at 7.30am. Due to picking up guests from other hotels and very heavy traffic, we eventually reached Pompeii at 10.30am, a distance of 18 miles. Yes, that's an average speed of 6 mile per hour!! I would suggest that the Circumvesuviana train from Sorrento might be a better option, and much cheaper. It will probably get you to Pompeii in half the time (or less)!

Good trip the guide Alex was very knowledgeable and friendly. Watch for rip off restaurants at Amalfi - paid 66 euros for glass of wine, small beer, tuna sandwich and small risotto + two ice creams. Checked and there was an 8 euro service charge.

Although the tour was informative with a good guide , we were left not knowing what was happening during the day. The grand amphitheatre at pompeii and certain areas were totally missed off the tour, as we were rushed to get to Herculaneum which could have been cut from the agenda to make more of the attraction of pompeii. As a guide get a train do it on your own for the whole day , which is what l had to do and go back the next day to see the better areas of the site.

Fabulous morning trip. Herculaneum is a much smaller site than Pompeii which allows you to see the most interesting parts and get a real feel for the place in a few hours. What Herculaneum lacks in size, it makes up in interesting artifacts. Unbelievably, first floors are in tact with some of the original scorched timbers. The bath house mosaics completely in tact and beautiful. Really enjoyed our morning with our guide Raphael who was very knowledgable and funny. The trip organisers were helpful and responsive.

Brilliant trip and Alex our guide was fantastic, very interesting trip beautiful places to see and a lovely boat trip as well.

Our guide (I think called Antonio?) was very fun and nice. Great sense of humour. Very knowledgeable. Both areas very indepth guide with enough time spent there. Lunch was nice too. Don't visit Pompeii and Herculaneum with anyone else.

Our family of five had a wonderful trip to the Amalfi Coast thanks to our guide, Mary and driver, Angelo! Mary provided us with such great information and history of the area- and pointed out important structures along the way. She knew all the best places to stop for the ideal photos. We even stopped at a lovely fruit stand run by such a nice gentleman who made us the most wonderful freshly squeezed fruit juice!! The entire ride to and from Amalfi was so entertaining and enjoyable because of this Tui team, I forgot to be nervous about the winding cliffside road. Angelo, was such a great and safe driver! It really was a crazy & winding road but Angelo drove so well -handling the curvy roads, the traffic and stop offs for photos so professionally - that I wasn’t nervous at all! When we arrived in Amalfi we had only a short amount of time to stay. Mary took us into town, helpfully explained more of its history pointing to the highlights and showed us the best olive oil and balsamic vinegar store! She really saved us so much time by listening to what we all wanted to see in such a short amount of time-I truly appreciate how she listened and catered to us! There was one mishap that happened while we were there which delayed this wonderful Tui team in getting back on time and so I greatly apologize for that since it was my fault. Mary worked very hard to help me with a difficult situation that I got myself into with a store owner. Mary could have looked at her watch and said that we have to go now and not to worry but she wanted to help resolve the situation. She communicated professionally with the store owner since I was unable to speak in the language and attempted to resolve the misunderstanding. I want to thank Mary for what she did and also for going the extra mile for a customer. And again I want to apologize for keeping her and Angelo an extra hour later- when they should have been done with our tour already and been back home to their own families! And I also want to mention that I can just imagine that Angelo was also inconvenienced because of my situation and was probably trying to figure out where to park or drive in that busy Amalfi area while we were delayed! Again- so very sorry about that! Mary and Angelo were such a great tour team and we were so blessed that day to have them! We hope that everyone can have such a great experience as we did that day- we will have such good memories of our day in Amalfi because of them. Thank you!

Wonderful tour of both sites! Our guide Francesca was top notch! Herculaneum particularly interesting. Lunch was exceptional.

We had a fantastic visit to both these sites, expertly guided by the charming and informative Cinzia. We were a large group but she managed to steer us skilfully through the crowds while sharing her impressive knowledge of the sites, and connecting with every one of us. We were also given a good lunch.

Our guide Tony was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, informative and entertaining giving us an insight into current culture and family life as well as an extensive introduction to the archaeological sites. The lunch provided was good quality and well managed to keep us on schedule.

Tony did a fine job of handling quite a few people and keeping all on track. Of course, our time in Pompeii was somewhat short, but I don't think you could see the whole of it, no matter how much time you had. I felt that we saw at least most of the highlights. The lunch was quite good and gave us a chance to rest a bit. Herculaneum was a bit more controllable, as it's a smaller site, and we were able to see quite a lot of it. All in all, I felt it was very well done and that the tour leader did a fine job.

Guide was very good. We enjoyed the tour. We left from Sorrento where we stayed. The transportation from Sorrento was a factor in booking the tour.

I am trying to leave a review of a private transfer we had booked through your company via Europe Express on September 12. One of your drivers picked me up from train station and drove to my hotel in Meta (Giosue a Mare). He was not particularly talkative and seemed a bit annoyed. Upon arrival in Meta, he drove to the bottom of the hill and dropped me and my son off, then proceeded to turn around and go back up the hill, PAST our hotel....we had to drag our luggage up the hill to get to our hotel. WHY ON EARTH would he do this? It was unprofessional and rude. When we turned around to watch him leave, he reached his arm out the window and pointed over his head toward the hotel as he drove by it.
