Don't Go in the Rainy Season
The tour operators did the best they could considering the buckets of rain that were falling down throughout the day and, to their credit, they did get us up to Vesuvius and through Pompeii. Would have been happy to skip the spot where they took us to a guy trying to hawk limoncello. That was very unnecessary. The guide was very good as we followed her in the downpour and they did provide us trashbags once we left the restaurant.

          Great trip
Gennaro was great and facilitated everything. Doing both of these in one day is physically tiring but efficient, and with so much to see in Naples, we really enjoyed this trip. Our guide at Pompeii Elisa (sp?) was fantastic and fun. I recommend this trip.

3 hours learning about Pompei and how the people lived there over 2,000 years ago
Amazing experience, you really need a guide to get the most of it and our guide Alicia was very interesting. It was so informative and much more enjoyable than expected

Beware! They are terrible and most likely rip you off
Terrible people. It's officially a scam. They charged us for a guided tour 180 Euros, but when we went there, they refised to give us a guide and gave us a rubbish iPhone without any headphones. They are working with Project Napolu Service and book through Get Your Guide. After you pay, none of these will respond. GyG is getting a good commission from the scam to bring them on top of the list. It usually says it is likely to finish, but our tour was just the two of us.

Tour of Pompeii with transportation from Naples.
Entire experience was great. Easy to find the meeting spot. Staff was profession and efficient. The two hour tour was a good amount of time to see the highlights of Pompeii and our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and spoke very good English. We did not feel rushed. The bus ride from Napoli was comfortable and made the trip very easy. We only had one day in Napoli and I'm very glad we book this tour and would highly recommend it.

Pompeii is spectacular but allow time for traffic
Pompeii is well worth a visit and having a guide made it all the more interesting. I’ve marked it down by 2 stars as the transport there was nearly an hour late due to traffic on the way to collecting us and others and then took nearly 2 hours to get there. Now I know traffic is not controllable but at no point did the driver apologise or let us have an updated ETA. Also what wasn’t factored in was allowing us time, at the end, to grab a drink or have something to eat. We were given 5 minutes to grab a slice of pizza and that was us hurried back into the bus. It was like they had to make up time as we’d arrived late in the first place. A real shame and felt a rush at the end.

Half a day in Pompeii is the way to go!
We enjoyed this tour and a half way was ample. We were picked up from our hotel at the instructed time and the driver contacted us the night before. Once we arrived, we were greeted by our tour guide who was friendly, helpful and insightful. We walked around the ruins for approximately two hours and were given about half and hour when we finished to get a quick bite to eat and a drink. The public toilet is 50 c € and it is tightly run 😉 Take water and snacks if you want as they aren’t provided and wear comfortable walking shoes. Certainly well worth doing 😊

          Worst organised tour ever
Probably the worst organised tour I’ve ever done. This 4 hour tour was at least 6 hours long due to multiple stops and delays along the way just to get to Pompeii. Also, they picked up people doing other tours and had to wait for their bus to arrive at the drop off point. Don’t do this tour if you have deadlines or a ship to get back to as there’s no guarantee that you’ll make it in time. The guide Maria at Pompeii was good however the transport side of the tour was handled incredibly unprofessionally. Zero communication about delays and how the day was going to run. Also, the tour was advertised as a 15 seater air conditioned vehicle but neither to or from was that. The return to the ship was in a huge bus, with people from multiple other tours joined together. The air con wasn’t working either.

Must See Double Attractions As The Two Are Linked To Tell A Story
If you are in Naples, then ‘From Naples: Pompeii Ruins & Mount Vesuvius Day Tour’ is a must do. Please wear comfy walking shoes, clothes and definitely a large bottle of water, as this tour’s duration is 7.5hrs, which you will be spending most of your time outdoors – no shelter. Our tour guide was excellent. He clearly showed that he has passion in this field, he was full of knowledge, very informative and straight to the point. I have been on tours where tour guides just waffle on and you can clearly see, that they have lost a lot of people’s attention by mid tour, but not our tour guide… sorry, I can’t remember his name (I have attached a photo of our tour guide – the one wearing a cap and orange quietvox device around his neck and holding a bottle of water). If you get this particular tour guide, you would know that you’re in good hands. Our tour guide described each area in great detail, that you can visually see life in Pompeii before Mt Vesuvius did its thing that is famously known for… buried Pompeii and the population beneath a blanket of ash and pumice. Our tour guide also explained that the sculptures displayed in Pompeii are replicas and if you want to see the genuine sculptures, you can find them housed in a museum in Naples ‘Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli’. You can also find the dead bodies of Pompeii at this same museum to further preserve them, the ones you see at Pompeii are made from the moulds of the original bodies. With this information, I was in two worlds, I wasn’t too sure if I should take photos of the fake sculptures or not and decided not to waste my time taking a plethora of photos of something that’s not genuine and focussed on the building structures in Pompeii instead. But on a positive note, at least the city of Pompeii couldn’t be housed in the museum. Having stated that, I highly recommend to do the tour, it’s worth your time. I found the information and seeing Pompeii in person very fascinating. If you have finished drinking your water during the tour, it’s all good because there are running water fountains in Pompeii ruins for you to refill your bottle. If you want to see the “real” Pompeii… the complete package, it is best to do the tour plus a trip to Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli. We couldn’t do that, as we didn’t have time to squeeze in another day in Naples. After the tour, you return from the beginning, where you can have something to eat / refresh or do what we did and brought our own snacks instead. After our lunch break, we moved onto our next stop… Mt Vesuvius. By then, we were exhausted with the amount of walking we had done already in Pompeii in 34+ degree Celsius heatwave, in fact, our tour guide told us not to push ourselves to do the walk and just enjoy the magnificent views from the Tirone-Alto Vesuvius Forest Reserve – views are equally amazing. But I was determined to walk to the top, just to say “I did it” and see the majestic crater of Mt Vesuvius. It’s not that bad of a walk, as the bus stops close by – approximately 1100 metres walk to the top from where the bus dropped us off. It took me at least half an hour to reach the top of Mt Vesuvius, including stops in between, taking the view and catching my breath. It was an effort and I highly recommend to bring a bottle of water, you will need it. I would definitely recommend to do this tour, rather than walking aimlessly around the Pompeii ruins, let your tour guide take care of the planning and sharing the finer details about the history of Pompeii, it’s well organised as the tour guide knew the interesting places to go to and it’s also hassle-free with traveling between the two places with an aircon coach, no stress of how to get from A to B or parking – value for money.

          Incredible experience
Very well organised trip with everyone having different pick up points, different languages, and different tours. We met into 1 group for the coach journey which was quick and easy. Then we separated by languages. We had the English tour and Alyssa (excuse spelling) was our tour guide. She was incredible. Fluent in English, perfect to understand. She made great jokes, knew how alot of British slang etc. Her knowledge was impeccable, everything she told us was mesmerising and I came home with masses of information about pompeii. Afterwards, we got into another group for the bus home. HIGHLY recommend this tour option and Alyssa she was fabulous. Definitely a trip to remember

          HOT AND CROWDED
We went on September 1st. It was HOT and CROWDED. The streets in the city are made of large stones, very uneven, making walking very difficult especially with the large crowds. If you have any difficulty walking don’t go!

          Pompeii from Salerno
Easy drive from cruise port to Pompeii. We had a very professional guide around the ruins for two hours and 15 mins later we were on our Mercedes transport back to the port. Don't go in August though. We melted in the heat and there were lots of tourists.

          Disappointing
We were really excited for this trip but sadly it did not live up to expectations. At the port we were stood waiting for the bus for a good 15-20 minutes with no communication. On arrival in Pompeii, we walked to entrance and were told that our guide would be with us in half an hour. When the guide did eventually arrive, she seemed to be in a hurry, and kept saying ‘we don’t have time to see this’ but at the same time was walking very slowly which seemed strange? Her English was good but she spoke quickly and with a thick accent which made some information difficult to decipher. The driver on the way back drove whilst on his phone which made me feel unsafe and had a bit of road rage, getting out and shouting at other drivers around the port terminal.

We three had booked about a month ago from home. We were really looking forward to it. We were outside our apartment 5 minutes early to see our driver -Mario,talking on his phone. When we did get in the car we were told that our guide would be coming soon? Julia arrived about 10 minutes late so our start was about 15 minutes late. 5 adults in the car -that is 3 in the back seat for a full day tour on hot day was not comfortable. In past tours we have had a larger vehicle - more comfort. I realise that the traffic disruptions(road works etc )were unavoidable however it made for long periods of sitting close together with our guide and driver in voluble conversation in Italian. This to us was quite rude and not what we had paid a large number of Euros for! The coastline is spectacular and we would have loved to have spent a little more time In Amalfi and Positano wandering thru the street shops instead of being rushed through.
While we were in the car for the long periods waiting,we would have loved some more history info and our questions answered.
The lunch spot was a great choice with good food and great views.
All in all we felt our Amalfi experience could have been so much better.

Our guide Maria Palescanďolo was wonderful, her English was perfect and she had a brilliant sense of humour, along with the excellent driver, Ricardo, we were taken on an excellent tour of the Amalfi coast, it was so well organised we some how managed to miss the crowds at all the places visited. Eventually to finish up at a superb restaurant for lunch, overlooking the sea with an amazing view.
Thank you for a day to remember, if you want a trip along the Amalfi coast by an excellent company go with this company'.
