- Joahumay0 contributionsNew Years In Salerno 2019 - 2020My wife and I stayed in Salerno for 10 days. It was very easy to travel all over Italy from Salerno. Salerno is breath taking and the people are incredibly kind. If you want to stay away from tourist and get the best authentic feel of a small Italian town on the Almafi Coast Salerno takes the cake!Written May 8, 2020
- PGnagey0 contributionsAmalfi CoastBeautiful drive even thought the weather was rainy and gloomy. We were disappointed that we could not visit Positano because of a landslide. We visited Ravello and Amalfi would definitely use this tour company again.Written November 22, 2019
- amyrA5812RE0 contributionsGreat day packed fullWe (four of us) were picked up promptly at our port from our cruise ship by Lisa (not certain if she spells it that way) and whisked off on a whirlwind day. The Almafi coast was simply stunning. We were given time in Positano to stroll and shop, but I wish we had more time because it was so enchanting. Maybe next time! Our guide for Pompeii was Loretta and she was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We had to cut it short to get back to our ship, but we saw all we needed to. Overall, I highly recommend.Written October 4, 2019
- ashtonulyne0 contributionsA short stay in SalernoWe were very impressed with Salerno, a small town at the beginning of the Amalfi Coast. Very few tourists, a provincial town with helpful and friendly local people. Lots of young families with children. Had the idea that it was a "small Naples" but not so, so much more pleasant and relaxing with a lovely promenade. You can take a boat to all the Amalfi coastal locations - we went to Amalfi for Euro 8, much cheaper than going from Naples. In fact, everything was cheaper there as it's not a touristy place. We stayed at a very good hotel - HOTEL MONTESTELLA - really can recommend it as it's very clean, very central, reasonably priced, in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the main shopping street with lots of bars and restaurants. Not far from the old town which is charming and has a lovely Cathedral with an amazing marble crypt, with frescoed ceiling, dedicated to Saint Matthew. His relics are there. Can thoroughly recommend a stay in Salerno which is easy to reach by train from Naples and takes about an hour. The Hotel Montestella can arrange a private car service from Naples Airport, excellent and very reasonable.Written September 8, 2019
- sevenonbikes0 contributionsIncredible tour from start to finishMy son and I traveled to Naples for three days specifically to see Herculaneum and Pompeii as he is studying classical languages and is very interested in classical civilisation. Our tour of Pompeii with Livio did not disappoint. As a classicist himself, he was full of detail about the history of the site, the influences leading to its establishment and the life of city in 79AD. The site was so impressive and a stark contrast to what we had seen in Herculaneum a day earlier. Livio was brilliant at highlighting the differences, explaining the rationale behind them and pinpointing the evidence to support what he had said. The site is teeming with visitors but Livio was also great at timing our entrances and exits to give us the best views with minimal crush. Please note that 2.5 hours is not nearly enough time to do justice to the site. If you don't go at the height of the summer and really want to see the site in depth, I definitely recommend a day. We will have to come back. We will definitely be using Herculaneum Tours again.Written August 22, 2019

- JelloO10 contributionsWonderful tour of Amalfi CoastBooked Salerno tours for our cruise shore excursion and had a wonderful time. Marco was an excellent driver and guide, He had many insights about the places we visited and was very patient and accommodating with our family. We have a disabled daughter and Marco was helpful and kind. He even recommended this awesome restaurant for lunch that was one of the best meals we had in our entire vacation! we had a great day at Amalfi thanks to Marco!Written July 5, 2019
- miliduttreddy0 contributionsGreat kid-friendly tour with Stefania! We had an absolutely wonderful day with Stefania! She specifically catered the tour towards our 7 year old and 4 year old, we did about an hour on each site and had a great "highlights" view of both. Our entire family enjoyed it! I would absolutely recommend to anyone coming to the area. Stefania was very knowledgeable, warm, friendly and played fun games with our kids along the way to keep them engaged.Written July 1, 2019
- cathy f0 contributionsAmazing Amalfi coast tourMarco our driver was great!! We had a fabulous tour ! Our group was a party of ten. We arrived from our cruise and our guides where waiting for us right off the ship. First. stop was Amalfi , great pictures ,shopping, and limonelleo. Then off to fun boat ride inside blue gretto . Next stop in Ravello for a fabulous lunch and with a amazing view at San Giovanni. Then free time to walk around Ravello( so cute) Also recommended a super cute pottery store that we stopped at to shop. Last stop at the beach. Cant wait to go back again! Highly recommend this tour! We had a blast ! so personalized to our group!!Written June 16, 2019
- Caleb U0 contributionsAwesome! This was a perfect day. The driver, Enzo, was wonderful. We spent an hour or so wandering around the gorgeous city of Positano. Lunch was at a fantastic winery in Pompei, whose grapes (and tomatoes in the pasta sauce) were grown on the slopes of Mt Vesuvius. The Pompei ruins tour was also amazing. We had to cut it a bit short to make the ship return time, and still had enough time to feel like our guide really connected with us (and our children). By the end of the tour, they were responding to his “andiamo!” more than our direction! Overall, it was perfect! Highly recommendedWritten June 16, 2019
- cw06060 contributionsPrivate drive through Amalfi CoastWe had a wonderful day thanks to our driver Enzo. He arrived early for pickup and was extremely friendly and informative. The ride was very comfortable. We were given time to explore on our own in Positano, Amalfi, and Ravelo. We finished our tour with a lunch in Ravelo where I had really delicious Coniglio all'Ischitana (or Ischia-style Rabbit). I highly recommend this tour if you have only one day to explore the Amalfi Coast.Written May 12, 2019
- swedishbryn0 contributionsLOVED our Pompeii Private Tour & Roman Lunch!Rosanna was our private guide for a fantastic private tour of the Pompeii ruins. Rosanna gave us an in-depth overview of the history of the area and the people, which provided the context for what we saw inside. If we walked Pompeii on our own we would not have known what we were looking at. Rosanna knew all the facts and secret stories, and was able to answer all our questions about the people, the city, the geology, the explosion, the aftermath, and more. We also added on the traditional Roman lunch which exceeded our expectations. We were expecting it to be quite touristy, but it was very high quality food, delicious and quite healthy. Service was great. After lunch, we opted to pay the entrance fee to go back inside and explore for a couple more hours. Pompeii is massive and cannot be done in just a couple of hours, but Rosanna was able to give us a great overview and suggest more things for us to see after lunch. We are so happy with our one day in Pompeii!Written May 3, 2019
- italiantraveller20190 contributionsFantastic private tour of Pompei with MarcoWe took a private tour of Pompei with Marco - it has been a highlight of our trip so far. Not only was Marco a great and knowledgeable tour guide - he really brought the experience of Pompei alive for us all, but he managed to engage our three teenagers in the experience. Marco, who is an archaeologist, was able to bring to life what it was like to live in Pompei 2000 years ago. We could have listened to him for hours. I would highly recommend this tour. They were well organised, responsive and exceeded our expectations.Written January 7, 2019
- Pam L0 contributionsHerculaneum & VesuviusThis was a thoroughly enjoyable tour. Alice at Salerno Tours was excellent, she's efficient, friendly, speaks excellent English, and overall made the organising of this day very easy. All of the arrangements went exactly as planned including a lovely lunch at Bosco de Medici Winery after our busy morning. Salvatore, our guide at Ercolano was very knowledgeable but more importantly he gave us a feeling of what daily life was like for those who lived there, he's an excellent guide. The hike up Vesuvius was as expected, not easy but definitely do-able, and another must-do if you're in the area. Last but not least our driver Domenico was great, very friendly and we felt very safe in his car on those narrow busy roads going up Vesuvius. Salerno Tours are highly recommended by us.Written October 10, 2018
