My wife and I recently returned fromno a trip to Spain centered around Madrid for our 20th wedding anniversary. This was our second trip to Madrid and so we decided to do a few different things this time. The most pleasant and wonderful surprise during the entire trip was this guided tour to Cuenca and the enchanted City. Our tour guides Marta, Jorge, and David were absolutely fantastic. As we were the only English speaking couple on the tour, we were given what can only be compared to a private tour. Jorge was like a personal guide for us during the trip to the enchanted City which is an incredible collection of rock formations the likes of which we had never experienced anywhere. Jorge showed a true passion for this place and really educated us on all the flora and fauna. He was a joy to spend time with. When we got to Cuenca proper, Marta guided my wife and myself through the city educating us and answering all our questions with great patience. I am inquisitive by nature and love Spanish history and she was very happy to share with us all her knowledge, even controversial issues such as the Inquisition and the Spanish Civil War and how that affected Cuenca. It was absolutely the best Day Tour we have ever been on. Great thanks to Marta, Jorge, David, and our driver whose name I am ashamed to say I cannot remember. You have given my wife and I a memory that we shall never forget.

The Enchanted City was spectacular and my son and I loved it. Our tour guide was great and I would do this tour again. It made a lovely break from the city and museums. Yes, it is a long bus ride, but if you have done your research you should know that and not hold it against the tour operator. Cuenca is a ways from Madrid. It is worth going that distance to see such amazing scenery. I will agree that the winery rest stop was not particularly worthwhile, but it was a welcome bathroom break, so it all worked out. Cuenca was also lovely and the guided tour and free time were great. We stopped on the way to the bus and picked up a to-go breakfast, which we ate on the bus, and I would heartily recommend doing that and some snacks. It was a great day, with lovely scenery, and a nice counterpoint to Madrid and the museums. Do it!

Thank's a lot. We are happy that you enjoyed the trip. We plan this tour, because we think it is a city that must be known for its natural beauty and its historical-artistic heritage. We hope you came back.

The Positives:
The scenery was, for the most part, nice. Loved the stop overlooking the river.
The AM rest stop at the winery was nice.
The lunch was excellent although 3pm was a bit late.

The Negatives for us:
While the bus was somewhat new and clean, no wi-fi and no tray tables for such a long trip made no sense at all.
While it was advertised as an “English speaking guide”, it was not mentioned that the guild would speak in BOTH English and Spanish. Martha probably did a good job getting all the data out but, it was in a loud, rapid fire monotone. A data dump that gave me a headache and very little understanding.
The organization of the tour tried to do too many things: dropping people off and picking up for the cathedral tour, dropping people off and picking people with no lunch — just seemed to waste a lot of time.
The drive up to the Enchanted City was long and, in our opinion, not worth it — especially given the dropping off and picking up.
So, we started the Cuenca old town at a little after 5pm as dusk was settling and finished after dark. On a cold and somewhat wet day, this just didn’t make it for me. Especially in light of the fact that there were ONLY 3 hanging houses which were kinda the object of the whole exercise in the first place.

Bottom line, tried to do too many things for too many people and failed for us.

First of all, apologize in case something was not to your liking. Your opinion will help us improve. The long trip to which it refers, is 2 hours from Madrid to Cuenca, it is a pity that the city is not closer to the capital. On the other hand, our guide has not yet been able to speak English and Spanish at the same time, but try to say the same things first in one language and then in the other, so that it is better understood. Finally, reiterate our apologies because "only" there are 3 hanging houses (but, what three ...!), It is a pity that the inhabitants of these houses (about 100 in the nineteenth century) left the old part to go to live in a more comfortable and accessible area. We would have loved to convince them not to... however, Cuenca is a World Heritage city with an amazing Cathedral, museums, and a lovely medieval streets and buildings. As for the inconvenience of traveling with more people, pickups and others, we encourage you to take a private tour with us where we can advise you where to go and you can decide. We wait for you back!

Cuenca is amazingly charming and I love love love the place! The Enchanted City was lovely to visit and what made it super awesome was our 5-star tour guide Jorge (in one of the attached photos) who really took time to explain the geology of the place and helped us appreciate its beauty and uniqueness. The tour would not have been the same without him - kudos Jorge! The old city was really beautiful too and I enjoyed walking around exploring & taking photos.

However, pity that there were downers too:
- As the main tour guide, Martha did not give us the best experience. She appeared abrupt and impatient throughout the trip, even lashing out when we took more time than her allocated 10 minutes at a toilet stop before going into The Enchanted City (couldn't help it as there was a queue!)
- The bus driver's driving was not exactly the best either and made us feel nauseous.

All in all, I'd still recommend Cuenca for people to visit because I really love the place, but do hope the service standard of this tour could be improved. Thank you :)

It was a long drive, almost 3 hrs before we arrived in enchanted city. At the restroom break at the vineyard which supposed to be 20” break became almost hour because suddenly we was told that there was a short film interview with everyone by a TV crew then without any explanation 2 both them joined us throughout the trip and we were part of their film. We felt somehow became part of their marketing tools, therefore the trip was a little longer than expected. The stop at the “devil eye” took a lots longer since people were buying porcelain souvenirs. We did not arrive back to Madrid until almost 10:00 pm. Enchanted city tour was nice since there was not crowded on Monday. The good thing about this tour that at destinations, they broke our group in 2 groups, 1 for Spanish speaking and the other for English speaking (even though we can only understand 60% of the time) but it helped.

Hello, Stop in the cellar usually like our travelers very much. Cuenca is not next to Madrid, but it is a trip worth doing. If you wish to configure the tour in your own way you can hire a private tour with us. We strive to give the highest quality to the customer, that's why we divide by language. Thanks for your appreciation. We will consider your comments. Regards

This tour was really long and boring, due to wasted of time at all the stops, plus lack of control the crew had over the group. The park walk was super slow and boring
It would've been more interesting, if the lunch time, and time alone were shorter, because there was not much to see, most of the Restaurant were closed for afternoon brake, there were not many options by the plaza left open for tourist. I should have taken the Cathedral option and eat lunch around there
Also, because there is no age limit, a large amount of people were not physically fit and we have to wait for, at most places making it feel like time was running in slow motion.
My most enjoyable experience was the descend to the old City by foot viewing the hanged houses and crossing the bridge, maybe because by then we were heading for the bus :) I was really glad to be back in Madrid that night.

Hello, You can hire a private tour to Cuenca if you want to decide on the timing of the excursion and if you want to decide that the elderly do not attend the tour. It is not strange that the return was better because our buses are super comfortable! ;) Thanks for coming. Regards

Our tour guide Jorge was great. He was very knowledgeable of the enchanted trip landscape. All the guides worked hard and put a lot of effort to keep the tour on time and everyone taken cared of. The lunch option was really worth adding to the tour . I would recommend it.

Just have to listen closely to the narrations because of the accents, but other than that everything else was A+
