We did the tapas and wine tasting on the Friday over the Easter bank holiday weekend so it was very busy, but this wasn’t a problem. You get taken to four different places to enjoy food and drink at both, you can choose what drinks you have at each bar, red wine, white wine or a couple of other options. The places we visited were all very nice and all quite different, I won’t say too much but it was a mix of fish, meat, cheese, bread and other mixed dishes. The tour is very much a social event, you get to meet other people from around the world and all the people on our tour were very nice. Our guide for the tour, Carlos, was excellent, really chatty, engaging, full of knowledge and friendly, he made sure the tour enjoyable for everyone and kept the conversation flowing. We thoroughly enjoyed the night and ended up staying in the last venue with four other members of the tour until they closed, we were literally the last to leave. This tour is great value for money given the knowledge of the guide and food and drink you get and a fantastic way to meet people and explore different venues in Madrid.

The best! Highly recommended - of course, apart from an awesome guide (Paola), it also depends on the people within the group. We lucked out with a nice mix from Canada, Australia, Wales and the U.S. Various ages and lots of fun mixing - particularly after the first tapa bar. We are cheapskates but this was totally worth the money. Enough tapas that everyone was full by the end AND a nice variety of beverages and tapas to try out. Our guide, Paola, provided more information than the minimum about the various plazas and bars we visited. It was great that a group of local college students happened in on one of the bars and provided a show. We are experienced travelers and bilingual/bicultural and enjoyed this thoroughly, as did the other members of our group. Enjoy and Salud!

A worthwhile way of getting peek into the historical city, it's narrow lanes (filled with history) and the most important of getting chance to enjoy various tapas (small entree food servings). This is an worthwhile trip with well knowledgeable guides (Ismail) and a chance to interact with other tourists (each group will be of 12-15 people ) . They take through various restaurants and guiding us on their best food and drinks to try. The trip runs around 3.5 hours

The tour guide Carlos was really very good . He gave us a very good insight about wine regions , types of wines and tapas from all over Spain . He also gave us a lot of historical facts about Madrid and the surrounding area of city centre that we walked around with him . The tapas dishes in all the establishments, were fantastic . Real value for money and very enjoyable. I 100% recommend this tour when visiting Madrid.

I’ve been coming to Madrid for years, and did not think I would learn much from this tour as I feel I know a lot of bars and restaurants in the area. At the Ribera del Duero tour (highly recommended), one of the guests recommended this tapas and wine tour and I thought, why not? I’m so glad I took the tour, because not only did I discover new venues that I had not been to before, but learned a lot about wine and good, and also passed a very enjoyable evening.
I met the guide, Carlos, at the Plaza Santa Ana by the bronze statue of Lorca. We were joined by another participant. A third was running late but we arranged to meet him at the first venue.
The first stop was El Fontan, an Asturian restaurant tgst I’ve walked by dozens of times but never thought of stopping in (mistake!). We had a lovely Mencia wine and some dry cider poured up high. I was not expecting such a delicious and bountiful spread of food, but we were served eggplant with honey, 2 types of croquetas, and a strong cabrales cheese.
The second stop was a stealthy venue I would never have discovered otherwise. La Venencia is a sherry bar that has been around since the 1920’s! Hemingway was a fan. We were escorted down into the cave and were served a beautiful manzanilla and more food- aged Manchego cheese, cecina, mojama as well as olives and marcona almonds, all perfect with the wine.
The third place is one I’m well-familiar with as I’ve been going there for years, La Casa del Abuelo. We went to the original one (they’ve expanded and now have 5 restaurants). The restaurant is family-owned and they serve their own proprietary wine. We were served a bubbling dish of gambas al ajillo and patata bravas with our wine.
The fourth and last stop was to a place that I would never have thought about going to, as I generally avoid places frequented by so many tourists. Los Galayos is a restaurant in Plaza Mayor. We sat inside and prior to this visit I had no idea if how lovely it was. We had cava along with more divine food: squid with eggs, tortilla de patata (Carlos said it was second only to his mother’s!), Torreznos (deep fried pork belly) and gif dessert, torrijas, a sort of French toast with turron ice cream.
What else can I say? It was a wonderful experience, well worth the price.
I must mention that our guide Carlos was extremely professional, patient and personable.
I cannot recommend this tour highly enough.

What an amazing night of eating, drinking, learning history and meeting lovely people with Natalia, our fantastic tour guide. Can’t say enough about this tour. If you come to Madrid would be better to do this FIRST! You really get to learn about the local foods and wines and visit local restaurants. We had a different type of wine in each restaurant. They were mostly old restaurants which had been running for about 100 years each! We learned about the history of each of the restaurants and different landmarks of Madrid. Also learned so much about the history of Madrid and it makes your visit just so much more interesting. Natalia also gave us extra tips on what to do in our free time in Madrid the following day, and we loved some of the places she recomended visiting - we did not know about some of them. She was so knowledgable, fun, and just a great time! Highly recommend this.

This was an excellent tour for a tapas beginner and someone not familiar with wines. We went to four tapas establishments spread across a nice but not too far area. Good and refreshing walks in between each place. We sampled different styles of tapas while Carlos, our guide gave a nice presentation of the wine. We enjoyed two or three dishes at each stop and were able to select a white or red wine. We were a group of eleven which was perfect to have great conversation with each at the different stops and along the walks in between. The timing was perfect and we never felt rushed. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Manfred, our guide was wonderful and engaged everyone on our group of mostly 10 strangers to the point we knew each other at the end. We went to 4 different local tapas places, each very different. He explained why he chose them what he recommended to drink at each and why. Manfred also explained the differences and origins of different styles of tapas.

Great evening!

Ishmael was a fabulous tour guide through Madrid. We enjoyed the 4 Bar/Tapas places we stopped at and the group size was perfect. Ishmael did a fantastic job picking Tapas and Wine that the whole group would enjoy. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who likes wine and want to enjoy the food of the local Spaniards. Thanks Ishmael great job!!!!

The tour was very good. The guide was very knowledgeable and energetic. We sampled a full glass of wine at each stop, 4 total. Each restaurant/bar had unique tapas. Overall, the experience was very good! However, after walking into other restaurants/bars in Madrid, I do feel the tour is a bit expensive. An average glass of wine is about 2.5 - 4.5€. The tapas are traditionally served/included with any drink order. While we enjoyed the tour, I don’t know that I would necessarily recommend it to friends/family due to the cost.
