The guide had some interesting things to say about the paintings, but it was very hard to understand her because of the heavy Spanish accent and poor articulation.
We rushed through the Prado and stayed a maximum of 2 minutes next to a few paintings. The tour was very short, I expected it to be much longer for this price.
I would not recommend it.

Dear AlexandraV326,
Thank you for sharing this review,
I regret to learn the Prado guided tour didn't live up to your expectations,
I am glad you found our guide's comments interesting, despite her accent.
However, it is necessary to take into account our guides are officially accredited by the local government, and tested regularly in their language skills.
Please note, that the duration of the tour is indicated on the description available at every authorized selling point,
Best regards,

We learned the history of several paintings and the artists. We got into the museum early before ogot too crowded. It would have been a little better as the hearing devices were not clear and the tour leader spoke English but sometimes was hard to hear and understand.

I wanted a short in, show me the highlights and out. I can't do galleries and museums for too long. This was perfect, the guide spoke excellent English, was very knowledgeable and the tour was the perfect length. The group wasn't large either (mine was about 6 people).
I really enjoyed this.

Fernando was our guide with only 4 in the group and he was engaging and expert in picking highlights to entrall us. I loved his emphasis on where a painting might be viewed from, the evolution of styles and contemporary references to cinema etc to link the ages. I loved the tour - no boring bits at all and excellent quality and value. I then stayed on to see more of the Prado. A morning well spent. Thank you Fernando

Francisco was my guide and I was able to learn so much about the Spanish painters. The El GRecos took my breath away.
He was extremely knowledgeable about the art and brought it to life.
He thoroughly explained Hieronymus BoschGarden of Earthly Delights.
I enjoyed the visit to the museum, and Francisco is the person that made the tour so special.
It is confusing about the meeting place, and he was diligent in texting me the specific location.

We took a combo Madrid highlights sightseeing tour and skip the line Prado tour. Our guide, Clara, was fabulous! She was very informative during the sightseeing tour, pointing out all the sights on the walking tour and providing commentary on the bus tour. We learned so much about the city! Clara also did a fabulous job at the Prado showing us all the highlights. Her extensive knowledge of art and history was very evident!

We had high expectations for this first visit to the Prado. Although we understood that the tour was multilingual, the Spanish speaking visitors agreed to an English only tour, which greatly enhanced the visit. However, our guide kept searching for English words and mumbled through the tour. We understood less than one half of what was said, and the teenagers even less. The tour moved through the Prado as a forced March, and left many of the highlights out. Unfortunately, by the time the tour was over the teenagers were finished with the Prado, and perhaps art. There is so much to see in the Prado that this tour was not the best vehicle to do that.

There is no skip the line entry to the Prada. All patrons must stand in line for a Security check. Our tour guide breezed through the Prada talking to an English and Spanish group. Very distracting. Her fluency in English was marginal, further complicating the experience.

I would like to inform you that the Royal Palace' ´s special conditions for group entrance indicate that every official guide must be accredited to enter, please bear in mind these proceedings can not be skipped or rushed.
Please note not all our tours are operated in English or English only. We do offer time slots daily in which English is the only spoken language but we do offer bilingual tours too, which was your tour option.

If you’re going to have a bi-lingual tour make sure the person speaking English can speak it very well and clearly. Marta could not speak English clearly and she also spoke very fast. My friends and I could only understand about every 4th word.

Julia the tour guide was knowledgeable and spoke good English. It was a Saturday which was busy so I wish we would’ve had more time but we book too late to get the longer tour. The Prado is an amazing place and without the guide we would not have been able to enjoy it as much!

If you want to stay together I would expect you would need to pay for guide tickets for your children. Given their ages, they would get a lot more out of being there if they understand the guide. It’s worth the price!

I will be travelling with my three kids aged 15, 13 and 6. Is there any family concession available? Otherwise the bill is 160 euros, which is a bit steep.

When we did it we met in the Calle de Felipe IV next to the Madrid City Tour small kiosk - so you are looking down from there to the Prado and Goya's statue.
