What to expect
Feel the call to something larger? How about 200 miles? For thousands of years pilgrims have trekked through the open landscapes and rolling hills of Spain on their way to the Holy City of Santiago. They come from all over the world seeking clarity, seeking wisdom, seeking reprieve. There are several routes that a pilgrim can choose, but none match the raw beauty and patience of the Original Way. This road hosts the fewest number of pilgrims each year; an unprecedented gift for those of us who are looking to escape tourism and move toward space, goodness, and contemplation. This is not a vacation. This is a quest. • Two Fall 2018 trips will be offered, each trip limited to 5 guests • We will meet in Oviedo, Spain and walk together to Santiago, Spain • Total distance ~ 217 miles • 15 days, 14 nights (including one rest day in Lugo) • Pilgrim credentials upon completion • Includes: group lodging, evening meals, luggage transfer

My 1st Camino. I’m sure there’s more to come, is amazing and wonderful experience. Mixed feeling during the walk, but good.

Excellent Camino with Walks In Spain
Our 5 day walk from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela couldn’t have been better organised with hotels, luggage transfers, trip notes and support very efficiently provided by Paul at Walks in Spain. Hotels arranged for us were of a great standard and we were very happy with the overall value for money. Really glad my friend and I opted for 5 days of between 22kms a day and 25kms a day instead of a longer day and one short day offered by another company. We were also glad we had a night at a country hotel slightly off the camino even though we weren’t keen on the idea beforehand. Overall an incredible experience- thank you Paul.

Snow!
Apr 2019 • Friends
Got back on 11th April after walking from Rabanal to Sarria. We walked in atrocious weather with snow blizzards, rain and the (very) occasional sunny spell. It was a tough walk, the 4th section I have done, but it is addictive! Our trip was organised by Paul Francis of Walks in Spain and the organisation was fantastic. I would thoroughly recommend Paul and his company. Buen Camino.

Walks in Spain
Sep 2018 • Friends
Go no further with your research and who to use with organizing your Camino de Santiago trip!!! Walks in Spain and Paul are absolutely outstanding to work with! I took a friends advise who worked with Paul for their summer 2017 trip to help me with my groups Sept 2018 hike! Again, outstanding and go no further than Paul. All the best, Todd

Walking to Santiago
Oct 2018 • Couples
As a non-Catholic, I was at first skeptical about taking a Pilgrimage. I quickly realized how wrong I had been. Over six days we walked the last 70 miles, from Barbadello to Santiago. The beautiful scenery, the presence of so many walkers all going in the same direction, and the iconic destination all provided a remarkable, moving experience. The guidance and service we obtained from Walks in Spain made our journey all the more exceptional.

Fantastic experience. Very well organised + highly recommended.
Myself + 3 friends booked 8 nights with Walks in Spain for our 6 day walk from Barbadello to Santiago.
It was extremely well organised. Great accommodations, fabulous meals. Our luggage was waiting for us every day at our hotel.
All accommodations were ensuite + our favourite by far was a surprise when we arrived at a Spanish castle with an outdoor pool - it was glorious.
Paul was excellent at giving advice and support prior to booking and throughout.
Our pilgrim passports, route maps + route notes/ recommendations were posted out several months before our trip.
I would not hesitate to recommend them for any Camino trip.

From Porto to Santiago along the coast.
Mar 2018
This is a great walk which staring in Porto, Portugal gives one the chance to enjoy some beautiful beaches and coastal scenery, as well as stop off for the occasional dip in the ocean when the going gets hot. Much of the way is along level terrain including beach walkways, these are also marked in kilometers so one can easily assess your distances. Crossing the bridge at Tui takes you into spain and onto an inland walk which contrasts nicely with the Portuguese section. Again it is largely a straightforward walk, although the paths may become very muddy in heavy rain. This would be a great introduction to distance walking, or nice to do with kids in tow. We did it in thirteen days, which seemed quick even though we were not hurrying along. I would do it again, but spend more time in each coastal resort - surely a pilgrimage should be fun too?

Camino - a must for your bucket list
Sep 2018 • Couples
We walked from Lugo to Santiago de Compostela. We experienced friendliness along the way, challenging uphill walks, nice cafee bars, and stayed at several comfortable pensions and albergues
