Get away from the bustling city & spend some relaxing time on the Olympic Mountain of Montjuïc - Barcelona´s green lung.
We will start at the exhibition ground of the World Fair of 1929. Ascending the hill, you will learn about this important event. While standing in front of a palace that houses the Catalan modern art museum you will have a photo moment with amazing views.
From there we will cross the Olympic Ring where the Games of 1992 were held. Passing by the Botanical Garden we'll have a glimpse into the famous cemetery of Barcelona. Once on the top we may have a break in a hidden beer garden under pine trees - if open & the weather allows.
The walk continues around the castle of Montjuïc to a breath-taking view point. Learn why the mountain has always been a natural watch tower guarding the city.
We will stroll down the slopes of the hill to the multi-cultural quarter of Poble Sec where we finish the walk in Calle Blai famous for its local tapas & pinchos bars.

His explanations were perfect and absolutely interesting. We enjoyed having a short break on one of the quiet wonderful plazas, drinking a beer and talking about this and that. This is a demanding walk uphill for two hours or so but these are places you would not see otherwise. The castle at the top is excellent and this is a side of the city I would not have seen. We got a lot of knowledge about the different sights and sides of Barcelona, not just visiting the most famous places, but gaining a real understanding of what makes the city special and seeing all the little hidden alleys and hearing about the history of the city and how it developed. In addition to that, it was just very interesting to talk to Michael and hear about his life and his history with Barcelona. He also provided us with more tips for our visit and kept informing us about upcoming events. Unlike any other organized tours I did in the past, my time with Christian was informative, engaging, and heartwarming. I LOVED it. It was like spending quality time with a good friend who showed me around the town where you wouldn’t get to see on your own. He is genuine, knowledgeable, open-minded, and considerate. There were only four people in the group (excluding Christian) and our time was intimate. We stopped by a cute cafe for a drink in the middle of tour and the conversation was rich. Christian welcomed us like old friends. We spent a wonderful few hours climbing and learning about the mountain. We visited many places we would not have been able to find ourselves. We were lucky to come on a day when the hidden beer garden was open and stopped for refreshments and some great music. Christian is very knowledgeable about Barcelona and was able to answer all our questions. He kindly provided restaurant recommendations and escorted us to a great strip for pinchos after our tour. We have been to Barcelona a few times but never visited the mountain. With Christian as a guide it was well worth the trip!

You can discover the wonderful Montjuic with a fantastic view over Barcelona. Another very special tour outside the normal tourist routes. A recommandation if you want to a have a very special trip to Barcelona
