      Wonderful and informative walking tour
This was a wonderful walking tour. Our guide Pia was an architect and explained the features that made the building special. She also explained the genius of Gaudi and lots about Spanish history. This was a highlight of our Barcelona visit

      10/10 recommend
My boyfriend and I booked this tour for our first time to bcn. Our tour guide, Tomas, was so energetic, funny, and informative. We learned so much, even as people with no real background in architecture. I think you would get more out of the tour if you have the architectural background, BUT I do not think it’s required to have a great time and learn a lot. After this tour we went to Park Guell and La Sagrada Familia and got so much more out of those experiences because of Tomas’ guidance in the architecture tour. Would recommend to anyone!! Thanks Tomas!

Thank you Carmen for your Architecture Knowledge
Thank you Carmen for such an amazing walk through Barcelona. Thanks to you and your vast knowledge with the subject I was able to enjoy my visits to Casa Batlo, Guell park and the other Gaudi's excibitions. Thanks to Carmen My family and I were able to not only understand Gaudi's work but we were also able to explain it to others who had no knowledge of the subject, some of the people we spoke to just went there because is what tourist do, but we were inmerse with Gaudi's architecture and his vision. I highly recommend this tour to everyone who wants to visit Gaudi's masterful arquitecture art work, this showed us not only the current state of his work, but the work throughout Barcelona. Carmen's passion for her work is evident when she tells the many topics that encompasses this tour. Thank you Carmen for this wonderful walk.

      Interesting and Informative Tour
We traveled to Barcelona for my dad's 80th birthday and as a family of urban planners decided to do the Barcelona & Urbanism tour on our first full day. The tour was fabulous! Pia was very knowledgeable and we really enjoyed our time with her. It was a private tour and she was able to adjust it to my parents' walking speed which we greatly appreciated. This was also a great tour for the beginning of our 8-day stay in Barcelona, as it increased our appreciation of the city's architecture and planning context throughout our stay. I highly recommend this tour!

      We loved this tour!
We absolutely loved this tour. Our teens loved this tour! It gave us a really great insight into Gaudi, and helped us enjoy our time in Barcelona.

Awful - not a tour, just a professor lecturing at you for a few hours in detail about the physics of arches
This was honestly a very disappointing experience. We were hoping for a true walking tour where we could learn some of the history behind Barcelona’s architecture. What we got instead was a university level lecture about architecture - including in depth diagrams drawn for us of esoteric topics including the physics of arches, brick layering, and sewers - given in weird parks and alleyways. We literally spent the first 45 minutes in a small park behind a Melia hotel that our guide (Pia) first derided for their business practices. Everyone on our tour was frustrated. She talked at us with diagrams and old pictures. She didn’t engage with us at all. I think we traveled a maximum or 3 square blocks in the 3+ hours we were together. We barely saw anything of value and left feeling very frustrated. There should be a disclaimer that this is designed for Architects and Structural Engineers. Not for people looking to explore a city, learn a bit of history, and have a good time.

      Pia rocks!
We booked the Gaudi walking tour. Pia was our guide. We had such a great time and learned about Gaudi but so much more - history of Barcelona, development of the city, urban planning history etc. Would recommend to anyone but especially someone with a deeper interest or understanding of how cities are built.

Excellent Overview of Barcelona's Architecture and Gaudi's Influence
My kids (ages 20 & 18) and I really enjoyed this very informative tour. Pia was an incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide who provides a lot of detail about the history of Barcelona and how that history impacted the city's layout and architectural design. My kids and I are definitely "city people" who enjoy wandering around looking at buildings, so this was just the right kind of tour for us. We also enjoyed talking with Pia after the tour was over!

      If you already love architecture….
If you have a special interest and previous experience with architecture then this is likely a great tour for you. It’s like taking a 201 vs. 101 class, it is a better tour if you have previous knowledge about the field. It is not designed as an ‘intro’ to Barcelona architecture tour. The guide had extensive knowledge, but didn’t know how to make it accessible to all members of our group. Think architecture encyclopedia vs captivating story teller, so if you already have an interest any of your questions can and will be answered but the guide is not a story teller and will likely not pull you in without previous interest. One teen and parent found it interesting, while the other two couldn’t wait for it to end.

      Highly recommend!
Our group of 7 (2 adults, 5 teens) learned so much on this tour. Our guide was Rafa and he was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and engaging. We saw the buildings around us in an entirely new light after the tour. Thank you for a great experience!

Fascinating tour but more standing and being lectured to than connecting with the historical buildings on the tour
This tour is especially well-suited to engineers, architects, urban planners & historians. Our guide, Pía, was extremely knowledgeable and freely admitted that she “geeks out” on this tour. I learned a ton about the history of Barcelona, qualities of building materials, how arches allow much larger structures to be built, water & sanitation planning … but less about Gaudí than expected. A fascinating morning but I had hoped to see and learn more about the many modernist buildings in the neighborhood we toured.

      Gaudi and more
This is a terrific tour. It really covers more than just Gaudi - we learned a lot! I was a little concerned about booking this tour, because they don't specify where the tour goes or whether they go inside any of the sights, and I was concerned about covering the same ground twice (we had already visited a few Gaudi sights on this trip). I didn't need to worry - the tour only goes into publicly accessible spaces, i.e. building lobbies, and the information provided was so in depth and well-presented, it was a beautiful compliment to our other experiences in Barcelona overall as well as specifically to Gaudi sites.

      Learn about the buildings
This tour is certainly worth your time. Conducted by an actual architect, you can learn a lot about Gaudi and about Barcelona in just a few hours. What I learned opened my eyes the rest of the time we were in town.

The Architecture Tour- Just Do It!
Carmen was amazing! Her tour covered so much of Barcelona's history which made the architecture come alive. Doing the tour early in our week's stay really put the rest of the city in context. And Carmen is so warm, approachable and friendly. One of our group is going to study Architecture as a graduate student, and she was thrilled with the tour. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Spain.

Pia was an incredible tour guide and the pace of the walk was thoughtful, insightful, and very enjoyable. My friends and I visited from NYC and went on this walk because of our specific interest in Smart City. Pia gave us an inside look into life in Barcelona and this walk definitely became a highlight of our trip! 100% would recommend!

My husband and I attended the Barcelona and The Future City tour led by Pia. This was my third trip to Barcelona and it was a treat to see a different, less touristy side of the city. While we did touch significantly on the unique architecture in this area, Pia is a fountain of knowledge on urban planning and civil engineering involving Spanish structures as well as those around the world. I can't imagine a more knowledgable tour guide and I imagine any tour topic would be fantastic.

Hi travelingdoc87! Thank you so much for your kind words! It's fantastic you have apreciate our work because we really love it! Really our Barcelona & the Future tour is a good choice to understand in another level, the urban planning and architecture around the former industrial neighborhood of Poblenou and 22@ district, where is happening the most recent transformation in the city. We love to walk with future colleagues like you, because the tour becomes a walk where we can talk in a different level about history, urban planning or different architecture concepts. Hopefully see you soon and walk together again!

I wished I had done this tour at the beginning or mid-way through my trip to Barcelona, because the background and depth of information I gleaned from this tour helped me appreciate the evolution and understanding of Barcelona as a city. Our guide was passionate and her knowledge of the subject was genuine and unsurpassed.

We went as a family, and my kids were generally able to glean something on the subject as they are used to being informed about Architecture and planning. However due to the depth that can be discussed during the tour, adults will benefit from it the most.

My partner and I did the Barcelona and the Future tour with Pia and it was outstanding, the highlight of our trip to this fantastic city. Pia is incredibly knowledgeable and interesting, and our three hour tour felt like an entire course in Barcelona's history from the Romans to now, including its geography, politics, culture, and social history. Pia showed us maps of the different stages of Barcelona's built history to give us a sense of how the city developed and why, and she could answer any and every question we had so we came away with a much deeper understanding of the city in general. We learned about the design and structure of recent buildings by star architects as well as other buildings around them, and we heard about the larger urban plan for the future of Barcelona, including the famous Superblocks. We wish we had more time to do the other tours because this was a fabulous opportunity to have a deep and thoughtful conversation with an expert about the city.

Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words Candida! It is very gratifying to meet with someone that values what we do with the same measure of enthusiasm and passion we hope to bring to every encounter. We are really proud about our team and Pia is one of the best leading architects we have. It's fantastic you have perceived this, but let me say, that it's easy to transmit when you are as heedful and lively like you. Hope to see you soon and walk together again!
