Barcelona's Montjuic Park boasts some of the most impressive views of the city. The park is steeped in history and gets is name from the Catalan meaning 'Jewish Mountain' and it was once home to the city's Jewish community.
The hill is about 173m above sea level and you can access the top via a cable car experience (which is included in this tour experience) and entrance to the castle. Jorge will talk about the history of the area, its origins and how it has developed and evolved over time and he will point out all the points of interest from the top.
In addition to the cable car and castle, any visit to Montjuïc should also include a visit to the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya which is the city's national art museum and home to an extensive collection of art. Also easily accessible is the fantastic Joan Miró Foundation which celebrates Miro's work & contemporary art.
Although JC Tour's experience does not include entry to the Museums, it is worth buying the ArtTicket Barcelona (available via the tourist board website) which gives access to five museums & galleries across the city.

The tour was great. We had three teens on the trip and they all said Jorge was the best tour guide they had. He was friendly, very knowledgeable and balanced in providing that knowledge. We had three generations on this trip, and he did a great job catering to all three. He was flexible with arrangements and communication was smooth and responsive throughout the entire process.

Jorge is an exceptional person, a guide of the highest level: professionalism, competence, knowledge and love for Barcelona in one person. Thanks to him, the tour turns into a unique and exciting experience in the history, art and rich culture of Catalonia. A side effect will be the need to return to visit a city, who after living it will become the own city, as happened to me. I can't wait to repeat this magical experience with Jorge again, which would be an understatement to define a tour guide. He is able to build a meaningful relationship with others and make them enter into authentic contact with the heart of this beloved land. I need to thanking to Jorge again!

I thoroughly enjoyed Jorge’s knowledge of the history of Montjuic, and the tour of several key sites on the mountain. I would never visit a Barcelona point of interest without Jorge! My friends and I had a wonderful time and Jorge seamlessly organized the tram as well as the bus to visit several spots on Montjuïc. Memories were made.

During my Barcelona trip last summer (7/2019) I took a private tour of Montjuic Mountain. Since I'm a photographer, a big part of my trip revolved around seeing the most picturesque places. I was traveling on my own, and going on this private tour turned out to be the best choice. Jorge took me to the places where you could get the best views of the city. The tour was tailored to what I wanted to focus on most. And Jorge was more than generous with not only historical facts, but gave me geographical information, as well as suggestions on what I might be interested in photographing. Honestly, he was a consummate professional, with tons of knowledge. Being a female, I am always concerned about one on one tours. But he was so respectful, and made he me feel at ease right away. Although he was professional, he made me feel comfortable. And that is always important. This was one of the most scenic tours I took of Barcelona. The panoramic views are phenomenal!!! The cable car ride just added to the excitement of being up high, with the city at your feet. You really get an entirely different perspective from up there. The Castle and grounds are a great feature as well. And the time with Jorge was like being with on old and very knowledgeable friend. Thank you Jorge for a wonderful tour! The next time I visit Barcelona, I would definitely like to repeat the experience! You're the BEST! :)

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience touring Montjuic and it’s surroundings. Very beautiful. Your tour guide Jorge with JC Tours Barcelona was outstanding! He was very knowledgeable about some of the history of Barcelona, Montjuïc, and the former Olympic Park. Jorge made the tour very memorable. I highly recommend him for this tour

Our granddaughter and I took this tour last June and thoroughly enjoyed Jorge's tour. He was very knowledgeable with a wonderful sense of humor. We would not have been able to learn as much of the history of Montjuic without Jorge's insight.

Jorge provides amazing two private tours when we visited Barcelona. Montjuic was his recommendation and did not disappoint. The architecture is spectacular and offers beautiful views across the city. Thank you Olga for a very memorable trip of Montjuic mountain. Olga is awesome guide. Her knowledge about historical aspects in every places of this trip and beyond have been impressive. Olga is very professional and was nice to give me recommendations for other tours. Too bad the cable car to get to the Montjuic mountain was out of business, but Olga took a taxi to get us to the destination and also assisted me to get a taxi later so I get on time to my other point of interest.

We booked Jorge for the Monjuic Mountain tour and had an absolute blast. He was very professional, funny and had a wealth of knowledge to share. He also related very well with our two young energetic daughters both under 5. I only wish he wasn't heading out on a well deserved vacation of his own the day after our tour otherwise we would've booked him for other tours.
