About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- CarlW9620 contributionsGreat food, drinks along with music and singingAnother great place to see while on a Viking Cruise. We took the evening bus ride to a show with several people signing and dancing to their music. Meanwhile we were served, much more than what we thought was going to be a snack. Lots a great food and drinks. And the dancers were amazing, from adults to a very young girl.Written December 9, 2024
- EmptyNesterSF0 contributionsGreat experience!Roger and Katja were our tour guides and were fantastic. They were very knowledgeable. We happened to book the tour on a public holiday so traffic was much heavier than expected and we were a little behind schedule but they ensured we saw all the sights. Katja took us up to top of the old city of Tossa de Mar and saw the most amazing sunset. This is something I wouldn’t have done by myself. I highly recommend this tour. The lunch was wonderful too!Written December 6, 2024
- sonnyc8460 contributionsWe had a blast! We had a blast with our tour guides, Roger and Katja. They were both friendly and entertaining. We spent a good 12 hours on this walking tour of Montserrat, Girona and Costa Brava. Katja was our dedicated guide. She was knowledgeable and helpful with our questions. We gained so much more appreciated about the local culture and historical understanding. I'd come back again to their tour.Written December 6, 2024

We were at Montserrat early that we avoided the crowd. Girona a very quiet & beautiful place. At Tossa del Mar we get to see the most beautiful sunset. Everyone enjoyed it!Delph was a fantastic guide who was able to tell us all about the history of Montserrat and also share her love for the beautiful mountains with us. - sulkir0s0 contributionsA memorable day!Our guides, Carlos & Roger, created a memorable, regaling day for me and my family. We all appreciated Carlos’ knowledge of history; we found ourselves with great appreciation and respect for the local cultures of the places we visited. We did not imagine that we would have this much fun in our trip—and I don’t think we would have had we not decided to have tour guides enhance our overseas experience for us.Written December 3, 2024
- 292ajitp0 contributionsTrip to Monserrat , Girona , Cosa BravaCarlos and Roger were very friendly and narrated details about the places and their historical significance. At the start of the tour we were looking for bus and guide , we thought we are going to miss the tour , i gave a sos call to the cell number , immediately thereafter we found Carlos waving hand-at us . So we could join the tour . The tour was divided into two walking groups and Roger was guide for my group who knows the history of catalonia very well and he explained in an interesting manner . Our experience was really great on this tour . He helped us to locate a restaurant serving vegan dishes also . Wish them best of times ahead .Written December 3, 2024
- Roam676633354440 contributionsA DAY IN A HEAVENThe tour was just so AMAZING. Carlos and Roger were great tour guides. They took us through all the tiny details that you could expect out of a place. And also, what can I say about the three locations. I would have regretted if I wouldn't have come here to this place. Carlos and Roger made sure to make it extra special. Will surely recommend this tour to everyone. DON'T FORGET TO TRY THE "XUIXO" 😋 IN GIRONA. Gracias!Written December 3, 2024

We enjoyed a beautiful day on Saturday with a great group of people. Our tour guide Marco (and his driver) were professional, knowledgeable with an added speck of humor. I really can’t say one bad thing about this tour. The mountain was breathe taking but our favorite part of the tour had to be the lunch. We all sat as a group at a large table and enjoyed each other’s company and ate some delicious food. Marco stayed with us the whole time teaching us how to make bread with tomato and kept us laughing and up beat the whole time. I honestly think if it wasn’t for having Marco as our tour guide we just wouldn’t have had such an incredible experience. So if you are in Barcelona and want to take a tour up to the mountain, 100% ask for Marco as your guide. You won’t be disappointed. WE Barcelona should give him a raise that’s how good he was! I can’t wait to be back in Barcelona!

The scenery from the mountains was so refreshing. The monastery atop the mountain is so rich in architecture, has a beautiful pipe Organ, and is just gorgeous! The lunch at the farmhouse was such great authentic traditional home food and the red wine didn't disappoint. Got to taste some very interesting sweet hot wine. Our guide Julia was so warm, so kind and just very professional. Our driver, Marios, was a great guy, very kind and friendly!
The only downside, which was outside the control of our guide, was that we did not get to see the boys choir perform at the monastery as they were off on holiday early January. I am told they sing pretty well more like every Noon for 15 minutes, hence if interested in this, try and get a tour which arrives there early enough for you to queue at both the the cable way and monastery in time for their performance!
All the same, many thanks to Julia our guide! She is the standard of what a tour guide should be!

As a family of 7 we all thoroughly enjoyed this day.
Paco our guide encouraged the group to get to know each other at the start and we met and chatted to people from all over the world. He enthusiastically and proudly talked about Barcelona and Montserrat and answered any questions asked. He ensured the whole group were aware of timings for the day meaning, we had plenty of time at each place, so never felt rushed.
The monastery is in an amazing location. If you check the monastery official website you can book tickets in advance (free of charge) to sit and listen to the boys choir, which was incredible. However, if you do not get tickets this is live stream so you can watch and listen outside. Everyone has the opportunity to go in and see the church, including the Black Madonna from a distance. Tickets are also available to book online in advance to get a closer look, but the queue even with tickets may detract from the time you have to explore and enjoy this beautiful area.
We enjoyed an added surprise of a ride down the mountain in the cable car which added to our experience.
The farmhouse meal was fabulous, in an atmospheric location. We enjoyed a wonderful three course traditional Spanish meal and red wine flowed.
We highly recommend this trip. It was great value for money and we have made memories to treasure.

I'll start off by saying I enjoyed my time in Montserrat and Lucas' impressive knowledge of a variety of topics. However, those were the only highlights of the trip.
To start, we were all meant to meet 10:30am at the given starting point for the tour. All members of the group were on time. However, the bus driver, Jesus, was 45mins.-1hour late picking us up. We then made our way to Montserrat, where we were stuck in traffic for 30+ minutes waiting to get past the entry gate. I noticed that 10:30am is way to late to start, at the time we finally entered the gate, two other tour buses were leaving. They had been able to tour and see everything without long lines. Once we passed the entrance gate, Lucas commenced the tour; which was very informative. We then broke up as a group to go off on our own with a meeting time of 2:30pm. Due to us starting and getting there late, we had a shorter time to explore and see the main attractions such as the Basilica, the Funicular, and the Farmer's Market. We met up at the meeting point at 2:30pm to leave for lunch, Lucas confirmed with Jesus that he was going to pick us up at the cable car drop-off by the time it ended, then we left. After reaching the drop-off point...THE BUS WAS NOT THERE! This left us to wait in the sun for almost an hour waiting for him to arrive. When he finally came, we left to go to the restaurant, I had given my dietary restrictions of no pork. When we made it to the restaurant, EVERY SINGLE dish had pork in it...when they tried to fix it by just giving chicken, it wasn't good.
This trip was just OK and Lucas and the friendships made with the other tour members were the saving grace. I think he'd do better with a better driver and an much earlier start time. If the trip continues on this route, I'd save money by just buying a train ticket then making your own itinerary to explore on your own.

I give the tour 3 stars for these reasons: transport bus was super small and very tight seats for the hour drive.. we were very squished. If you speak Spanish and English, the guides announcements and descriptions will feel long and so repetitive, because it’s said in both languages.
The monastery was gorgeous, very beautiful grounds but, after seeing the main points, we were given free time and did not have much to do.
The lunch afterwards was our favorite part, it was delicious and the farm was very cute. The guide was sweet and knowledgeable but I would not recommend this to anyone. I would suggest maybe adding a scenic walk in the mountain side or something...

We happen to be picked up the day the city was protesting. We departed just before a peaceful large crowd grew larger.
The bus shuttle ride was comfortable to they gondola ride up to Montserrat and then to the lunch. Everything about the tour was fantastic. Shuttle pick up, gondola ride and train ride. The lunch at the olive/wine farm was dusty. But, beautiful fun lunch! Mayka and Manu both were very fun and attentive to our group. My party was a party of 7 women. It just so happened there was a party of 7 Danish women along with another 6 people. Mayka, made sure we had plenty of extra apps if you asked for them. Also, she made sure we had plenty of wine. Needless to say, we had lots of wine and a ton of fun and laughs!
Thank you Mayka and Manu for taking such good care of us!
We will be back! Sheryl(When the Moon Hits your Eye)

Our tour guide was very informative and gave us a good overview of the history of Montserrat and it's importance over time. To hear the boys choir during the afternoon liturgy was very moving. Our lunch at the farm house was excellent and a great introduction to local cuisine. We all left very well feed.

Our tour guide Julia was very knowledgeable, nice, funny, and engaging. Our driver Mario made sure we got there safely and greet everyone. The Montserrat monastery was amazing. We had conversations of the magnificent art and construction. But I do want to warned if you go around the cold season, you will need a coat. After we visit the monastery, we went to a nearby restaurant that had a beautiful view, delicious food; even the owner came to our table and offer us more wine. Our driver Mario made sure we got there safely and greet everyone . This event exceed my expectations and worth the cost!!!

Let me start by saying that Montserrat is beautiful, the monastery and church impressive and the lunch was delicious. The tour is advertised as 7 to 7 and a half hours. We left after 11 AM and were back by 5: 05 PM. The tour of the Montserrat monastery was short and abbreviated. We were not given very much free time to experience the parts of the monastery that you could explore on your own. Given the fact that we were done in 6 hours, we could've easily been given more time at the monastery. While the lunch was delicious, every marketing piece for this trip has pictures of people sitting outside eating, which is what I was anticipating. Instead, we were whisked into a back part of the farmhouse building with only our party. After lunch, the guide stopped us to share that a specific onion is eaten at this time of the year. It would have been really easy to let us experience it and make the tour more personal. It seemed like he was just trying to get us through the tour and back to town. I do not recommend this tour. I think you can do it better on your own.

This trip starts at Paseo Gracia then you take a bus to the tram going up to Montserrat. The guide will guide you basically where to go and will take you to a few spots to show some historical facts and then it ends outside the basilica. After that you’ll have about an hour to yourself to explore more. There are different things to go see up there but it requires separate tickets to get in the museum and to go inside the basilica to see the black Madonna, but you can go inside the basilica for free without seeing the Madonna. There’s a lot of hiking trails and also spots to go but will take awhile to explore so that won’t fit your hour. After that you’ll meet up again with the rest of the group and then go down the tram and ride the bus for about 15 minutes to bring you to a local restaurant that makes their own wine. The food was ok and sufficient. After that you’ll head back to the bus and go back to Barcelona. Our guide was young and fit, so if you walk slow or takes an effort, he might not be a good guide for you as he will just go ahead and lead the pack and will wait on the next stop after his count of people doesn’t match. He is nice don’t get me wrong, he even tries to be funny, but I felt he’s wasn’t that considerate to the slower people just my opinion. My uncle lives here and he didn’t know that we’ve booked several tours. He thinks it’s a rip off of course. Honestly, you could go to Montserrat DIY just do your research as there’s a train that goes there all the way to the top.

Agree with the others. In our case we didn’t get back to Garcia drop off until 6:30pm. It’s doable but for me a bit to anxiety inducing.

The entire trip from start to finish lasted about 8 hours. Marvelous
trip. The food and wine were OK, but it was a very nice winery with animals to look at in the back. Definitely recommend. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable as well

We would be a group of 6 people all staying at the same hotel in Barcelona. Would it be possible to pick us up and drop us off at the hotel?
Written November 9, 2019
They don’t offer a pick up service, unfortunately.
Their office is a little tricky to find as it is in an alley, not a major street, but google maps gets you there. We stayed at the Alexandra Hilton, and it was only a block away, between the two major streets, Rambla de Catalunya and Passieg de Gracia.

We would be a group of 6 people all staying at the same hotel. Is there any possibility of being picked up and dropped off at the hotel?
Written November 9, 2019
The only way in which you will get a "real answer" that you can depend on is to directly contact the tour operator. If they cannot accommodate your group, just pre-book a large taxi to transport your group to the required "meeting point" for the tour. Your hotel can easily set up the taxi for you.
