Our trip to Spain would not have been complete without this incredible day! We knew we wanted to visit Montserrat but really wanted to find an intimate tour that actually included hiking. Pere absolutely delivered on an incredible hike! He tailored the day to meet our objectives and fitness levels and we ended up with an awesome 3.5 hour loop, full of scenic vistas accompanied by Pere's commentary and legends of the mountain. He definitely knows the range top to bottom! Every step of the journey was full of personal details that made the experience unforgettable. Then to finish the day off with a very personal winery tour (with tasting and tapas!) was the perfect pitstop on the way back to Barcelona.
Pere picked us on right on time from our hotel and shared history and anecdotes along the drive up the mountain. He customized the hike to our preferences and even provided a perfect snack for the hike. He shared fun legends and stories about the formations and the monastery, and was patient with us while we tasted all the local cheese on the way back to the van! We were in great hands the whole day to really get the absolute most out of our experience in Montserrat. It's so much more than just the monastery!

The best tour (and tour guide) of our trip to Spain. It was a perfect combination of breathtaking nature, incredible views into the past, and the most special encounter with a renowned family-run vineyard. We truly felt immersed in the culture and history of the Catalonia region. Words cannot express our gratitude to our guide Pere. This tour was personalized to our hiking ability (or lack thereof) and our interest in the mountain Monastery. Pere told us of folklore and history as we explored. This day was filled with incredible views and great conversation. Pere also was kind enough to pack a snack for us; we had a very nice picnic break by one of the hermitage houses. Montserrat was amazing but the afternoon at the vineyard of the Rabetllat i Vidal family in Penedes was exceptional! We have experienced vineyards in Napa and Sonoma Valley but this was something different. It felt unique and personal. My husband and I were honored by their hospitality. We thought how could anything top those mountain views but our time at the vineyard was equally magical. Afterwards we received photos that Pere took with his camera, capturing us during our tour - another thoughtful service! If you're visiting in Barcelona and want a trip outside of the city to experience Catalonia, this tour should not be missed. Pere, thank you for everything!

We loved this tour! The hike was perfect for us--about 4 hours round-trip, and very active without requiring training or too much skill. Our guide, Pere, was very knowledgeable and took some lovely pictures of us. We also did the wine tasting and tapas after, which we also highly recommend. The vineyard we went to had a lot of family history, and the tapas were perfect after our hike. We especially loved the cava rose! Overall while you can do Montserrat on your own, the benefits of this tour are well worth it.
