      Good hike!
Great hike through the trails around the monestary with fantastic views. Tour of the monestary itself was pretty short. The tour is very easily but definitely worth it: the line of cars to get in as we were leaving was absolutely insane.

Great experience, but keep more intense than I was expecting.
Hiking tour to Montserrat was fantastic. Our guide Christian was great! He was very nice and informative and we had a great time with him. A few notes on the tour itself: The incline of a good portion of the hike is higher than I was expecting. I'm in relatively good health, but I'm short, so it was harder for me to keep up and I got exceedingly winded a few times. I had to stop to catch my breath. There are also a LOT of steps on the way down - some of them larger since they are stone steps. If you don't hike regularly, don't walk on inclines regularly, or have bad knees/ankles, this may be difficult for you. I do wish I would have thought to stretch my legs before or after - two days later and my calves still hurt badly as I'm not able to rest them with all the walking involved with touring. Also, keep in mind the altitude changes, if you think this may affect you. All this said, I did enjoy this tour. The views were spectacular, the small group was a perfect size, and the guide was great.

The only way to explore Monserrat.
This was an outstanding adventure. Not a tour but a hike filled with history, botany, geology and more. Ramon’s passion for history, hiking and his homeland made the excursion unforgettable. A guide to the museum, an off the beaten track hike and an understanding of the connections between the flora and fauna and the monk’s famous Aromas de Montserrat. I would recommend this to anyone.

      Amazing views and conversation
This is a great experience for anyone wanting to get out and see some beautiful nature along with some great history. Ramon did a wonderful job describing the history of Montserrat and describing the natural environment, how it was formed, and the wildlife that habitats the area. Overall, we hiked around 6km (3.5 miles), got some lovely views, some great local snacks and great conversation. Thanks Ramon!

Great mix of hiking and the traditional monastery
Great mix of history of the monastery, which you do get to enter the basilica, and reasonable hike. Great views and info on geology and more history. There is a place to refill water at the monastery and a nice farmers marker with cheeses and nuts and honey.

Go if you're keen on spending more time hiking and learning vs hanging around buildings and stuff :)
The host had a fun personality, and explained a lot about the local flora, fauna, rock formations, and community of monks that inhabited the area. He is a born-and-raised local, and Montserrat was basically his backyard growing up. Definitely what I look for when choosing a tour guide... one with innate, deep knowledge of the land and its history. The tour definitely emphasized the hike over spending time in the monastery though we did get to go in to see it and take photos. But this is what I preferred. I like hiking, and definitely wanted to take the opportunity to have a guided hike in foreign wilderness vs walking around buildings and stuff :))

      Exceptional Views
This was the perfect way to see the mountain and monastery. We had a small group and got to the monastery early before all the crowds came. After a tour of the monastery, we embarked on a hike to the top of the mountain. It was a strenuous hike, but we got to see so much of the mountain. The views were exceptional. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone that enjoys hiking.

Great hike with mix of monastery and nature tour mixed in.
Our hike at Montserrat Hike was exactly what we were looking for. A small tour of the monastery itself with a history lesson and a nice long hike up the mountain. Our guide Bernat , was great in ensuring everyone could keep up, provide background of the mountain itself. He took us through a few short cut trails to ensure we had nice shade and some great local snacks for our lunch break. Bring a good pair of shoes and some water for sure. Overall great experience and recommend it to others if you are looking for a good hike.

      Hike The Monserrat Mountains
I’ve been to Monserrat a few times and I’ve always thought that it would be awesome to hike those mountains. So I did it with my daughter and we truly enjoyed it. On- noo was our guide and he totally was a great guide. Delivered what was advertised in this tour. He was very knowledgeable on the history of the monastery as well as the mountain ranges. This was a day well spent.

An amazing experience for people who love to hike and enjoy nature!
We had an amazing time despite the heat! Probably a little more enjoyable during the cooler months but still glad we did it. An umbrella would have been nice to bring for more shade. It's quite a steep hike up and down so be prepared for that (lots of stairs on the way down). But the sights are so worth it!! Tour end timing was flexible as well which we appreciated so we didn't feel rushed at all.

      A great day in nature!
It was great joining a group of explorers on this hike that was amazing, thanks to our incredible tour guide Bernat! Bernat has great experience and passion for such tours as he led us to explore the monastery, sharing insights and stories about its history. The adventure continued with our hike over the majestic Montserrat mountain, where the views were simply breathtaking. Bernat's knowledge of the path and his sense of humor made this trip memorable and enjoyable experience for all of us. It was a great day of being in the nature, all made possible by Bernat who truly loves what he does!

Great experience with added plus for graduates of Jesuit schools
My wife, 16yo son and I loved our tour with Ramon of Montserrat and the monastery. Booking was super easy, the meeting spot was easy to find and getting driven there and back was very convenient. Ramon shared a lot of great local info, provided a bunch of great snacks and took great photos for us! As a graduate of a Jesuit high school, I was pleasantly surprised to learn about St Ignatius laying down his sword at the monastery and deciding to start the Jesuit order right then. So while I was more excited about the hike than the monastery, I appreciated the monastery portion of the experience much more than I thought I would. Knowing my Jesuit connection, Ramon also suggested a small church near the meeting spot where I could see the actual sword St Ignatius had laid down at the altar of the Black Madonna. Ramon is a great guide, has a good sense of humor and made it a great overall experience. Highly recommended!!

Need a break from the city?
Loved this tour! We went with our kids (ages 12-18). After a tour of the monastery, we hiked about 4 miles. Great views and a fun time! Bernat was a fantastic tour guide - he was very knowledgeable and passionate about the area. Would definitely recommend!

Why pay the same price for big tour companies when you can have Ramon's personalised service? He knows his routes well and was very flexible to cater for my active young family. Book his COSTA BRAVA + TOSSA DE MAR tour as well if you enjoy day hikes. My family had a magical time with Ramon. La Garrotxa is special if you get the morning fog.

Ramon is a great guide. He was born and raised in Catalan, and has traveled the world. He has so much insight and history to share about the areas we visited and Barcelona as well. We had so many fascinating conversations with him.
We decided to do this trip on our honeymoon and my husband's birthday and he couldn't be more impressed!
    The day was amazing!
