      Great tour !
Really good tour, plenty of food and drinks. Met some lovely people and we had a fantastic tour guide Jonny. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great so we probably didn’t do too much of the historic part, as we were dodging in and out of the rain. Nevertheless I would definitely recommend it.

      Not so enjoyable
It was fairly enjoyable until I got very sick during the night after this experience... our host was entertaining but very little history given along the way. Average at best

Good Ghost/ history tour of the Gothic Quarter
We had an overall good experience on this ghost/ history tour. Our guide was late, but we received a free drink of Cava in the meeting point bar. Marie was a pleasant guide and did a good job. Her storytelling was fair, but lacked the flair to create suspense or any air of horror that you can expect on a ghost tour. This was a missed opportunity as many aspects of the Spanish inquisition are terrifying. My wife and daughter did enjoy the experience overall, hence the 3/5 rating. Overall, for the price it was a good way to spend a couple of hours in the heart of the Gothic quarter.

      Would recommend
Would definitely recommend this tour if you are in the city and want to book a last minute tapas/wine evening! Lots of drink (you won't go thirsty) and tasty tapas around some cool venues in the Gothic Quarter. Our trip started and ended at 2 different bars, with stops at an art gallery and a private kitchen on the way. Shout out to the chef in the kitchen - that was a big highlight! Our guide Andrew didn't really get involved with us when we were in the venues, which was a shame as reading other reviews it sounds like other guides were the life and soul! He was informative & knowledgeable when walking between destinations, providing some cool facts about the city. But kept to himself mainly when in the venues, rather sitting/drinking with locals. We did however get lucky with the other guests on our trip, mainly Americans but they were great fun. Overall it was good value and a fun evening out.

Ewan was a wonderful tour guide.
Ewan was a fantastic guide and was very good at bringing history to life in a way that my daughter and husband even enjoyed it. I have a huge fascination with both ghosts and history, given the fact that I work in a mental health and addiction facility that has been known to be haunted.

Wonderful & lovely guide. Highly recommended.
Wonderful!! Our guide was so kind and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and we learned a lot about the culture as well as the food.

An unforgettable night of delicious food, amazing drinks, and a guide that, alone, will make you want to do it all again
Coming to Barcelona, we arranged for several museums and events, but we chose this tour on a whim. It will likely be one of our most memorable experiences of the trip. The food was more than delicious and included a wide variety of dishes. The wines and vermouth, oh wow. The reds were spectacular, and the negro vermouth instantly convinced us to find more when we return home. The made-from-scratch sangria…oh the sangria…I’ve never had something more easy to overdo. Our guide, Kiki, was one of the best parts. She is, simultaneously, vivacious and warm. Her wealth of knowledge and ability to give rich historical perspectives made the city even brighter. She has a thoughtful answer for nearly every question, and a hilarious anecdote for each question and site. It’s difficult to overstate how much she contributed to making the entire evening so memorable. Simply put, you will not regret spending a wonderful evening tasting and touring with Kiki.

      Tapas, Drinks, Culture and FUN
A great introduction to my stay in Barcelona! Andrew was an attentive host and I enjoyed his little history snippets about the old part of town. We were lucky as a group of solos, partners from US, Canada, NZ and 5 friends from Germany who all wanted to party together. Good value for money, too. Delicious tapas!

A must during your Barcelona stay
Our guide, Kiki, was incredible, and I highly recommend her (and this tour) to anyone visiting Barcelona! The food was delicious, and I truly enjoyed our small group. We made friends along the way, and this tour was definitely the highlight of our trip. Thanks again, Kiki!

Tapas with old friends and new
Never would have guessed this tour would be so fun! Everything about it was great. We had good drinks, good tapas, went to fun places, and made new friends on the tour. I know you can't choose who you meet on a mixed tour, but our group was full of super interesting and friendly people. The tour guide really brought his best and cultivated an evening to remember.

Fun and interesting cocktail making experience
Cocktail and tapas choice was excellent (from an informed local who considers herself a foodie). Lupe was such a good coach. Stringly recommend!

Great History tour, whether you are into ghosts or not
Really great tour with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. It was a great time of year for it, as the weather was perfect for walking around and it wasn't loud or crowded on the streets. The Gothic quarter at night is stunning and the tour gives you a lot of history and helpful context for the area - well worth it if you want to learn more about the city and are interested in some is the darker truths of this historical area.

Our first day in Spain we ordered paella at a restaurant and thought it was good. A few days later we took this class. A nice walk around La Bocqueria and then a short walk to the kitchen. Paella is deceptively simple to make, I learned. When we were done cooking we feasted. My son turned to me and said, this is easily 12x better than that restaurant ... and a few minutes later, this is easily 15x better than that restaurant! (a few days later at another restaurant my son got another paella (at a significant price) and was disappointed ... our best paella was at this class!)
There were some minor down-sides: everyone participated in making one paella. This means that nobody did everything, so some of the fun of cooking was left out. Our instructor is a wonderful lady from Ireland, she did a terrific job, but is not a chef (food science degree), which means that some of the cooking tips/teaching I was hoping to pick up weren't included. (She did teach how to break down a pepper, but let a guy butcher an onion instead of teaching the simple, proper method ...) Like I said "little" things. All in all, the experience was terrific and we really enjoyed it!

Philip was an excellent guide and chef for us for this cooking experience! We had a large session, and he was more than able to successfully accommodate. Our introduction to the market was helpful and it was good to see more of the city. This is not a private event (and doesn't claim to be), so expect social interaction with other guests as you drink and watch and cook (if you want to help). The paella was well-done, and Philip's personality and insights into the cooking process, with bits of history sprinkled in, were just as good. The event listing says 2-3 hours; budget at least 4 when you plan; we started at 1830hs and the paella had only just been served at 2230hs. A five-star experience otherwise, with one star deducted only because of the difference in time expectations.

Manny was our instructor and it was a very interactive and hands on experience. He’s the best chef ever, so welcoming, provided us with lots of recommendations for around the city, and I definitely recommend taking this class on your first night in Barcelona to get the best recs on what to do next. Me and 4 other girl friends had unlimited sangria and a big serving of paella - we had the best time ever!

This is not our first cooking class but it was the worst.
There were 14 in our group, in our opinion 6-8 would have been better served.
We were marched to the market to buy ingredients, which we were told were the best seafood.
We were left to wander, unaccompanied in the emptying market for 20 minutes before being marched (15 minutes) to the kitchen.
The kitchen was nothing like the one shown in the pictures, much smaller, with no room to stand next to the food preparation for all of us and very run down.
We were given Sangria and waited a long time while our host prepared in the kitchen.
There were a lot of instructions on preparation, most of which could be heard but not seen as there was no room around the food preparation area.
Six of us were asked to help, by stirring the paellas, preparing prawns, or chopping peppers but no other hands-on experience for any of us.
A few meagre tapas dishes were offered on one corner of the food preparation area. No explanation on preparation was offered.
Yet another wait, and more Sangria, (beer and lemonade were also on offer), and the paellas were served. Mine was so salty as to be inedible. The mussels were tiny and shrivelled. Only the prawns were good. Our host was enthusiastic but the group's spirits waned as the evening progressed.
The whole evening was very disappointing, and it was not worth it for €69 per person. In my opinion, this was not a satisfactory “Interactive Spanish Cooking Experience”.

I have been to many cooking classes and this was below average . There was 18 people in the class and only 6 could fit in the kitchen and do the cooking. The rest of us had to stand up on the steps and watch . The kitchen and eating area is dirty and the toilet is disgusting. They have cheese and meats sitting on the table when you arrive that hot and uncovered . They do not show you how to make the Sangria , just talk you though it which was supposed to be part of the class . The market was ok , but far too long there . Overall a waste of money and urgently needs to be removed from a "cooking experience"

This class was super disappointing. First of all, we were supposed to go to the market and pick up our food and when we met, we were told that the market was closed (it was xmas eve) so the instructor picked up the food earlier. We should have been informed of that, as they knew the market would be closed - this did not come as any surprise to them. Also - we were supposed to learn how to make tapas as well, which we didn't do. AND - there was a very small meat & cheese platter that didn't feed all of us (there were 13 people in total). The instructor was great, the food was average - it was WAY too fishy and no one in our group enjoyed. The wine was delicious. Overall it was a fun experience, but definitely not worth the money.

We had a great night, with lovely and helpful hosts. The walk through the city and the market was a nice start, the cooking instruction was informative and we had the chance to get hands on…learning a good trick for deveining prawns. The sangria and paella were delicious and we enjoyed the social aspect of eating with our group. Big thanks to Maya and Naomi, we’re looking forward to trying out our new skills at home!

I decided to take this class for my birthday because I thought it would be a fun way to celebrate and do something different than just going to a restaurant. The tour started ok, we went to La Boqueria market and bought the seafood from a local vendor and then walked to the kitchen which was about 20mins away but the walk was nice, going through the old streets of Barcelona. Upon arriving the previous class was still inside so we had to wait for a few minutes to be allowed in. The kitchen and eating area were a fair size, there was 22 people in our group, plus 1 cockroach. There was only 1 bathroom for all of us, and it was not clean. The sangria was ok, but Ive had better, no fruits in it, just red wine, and soda really.
The class went on but there was a lot of down time. On top of the bar counter we found a big cockroach, it really turned my stomach because who knows how many more were there behind the kitchen!
The Paella was a bit dry and I even got a hair in mine, I do believe it would be a great idea to give everyone hair nests too.
Needless to say, my birthday dinner was ruined.

Our guide Liz and our chef Daphne made this an incredible experience! I signed up solo and met another solo traveler there, but we also bonded with all of the other group members as well. It very quickly became a fun, communal experience to cook the paella together, and enjoy snacks and sangria along the way. I learned so much from Liz and Daphne, and the location/view from the kitchen could not have been more gorgeous!

Chef Andrea took us to the market to buy fresh seafood for the paella from his favorite vendor. Then on to the kitchen where he explained how to make traditional sangria and paella. He showed the group (14 participants that night) the proper way to cut vegetables and devein prawns, then handed us the knives so we could prepare the ingredients. Both sangria and paella were delicious!
