- Malcolm H0 contributionsA sense of how it felt to live inBeautiful design human and reflective of nature. Nice presentation and a sense of how the design worked. Interesting light show if slightly disjointed from the rest of the experienceWritten March 22, 2025
- Adrian R0 contributionsGood to discover.Observing Casa Milà’s undulating stone facade and wrought-iron balconies reminiscent of seaweed showcases Gaudí’s innovative approach. The building’s organic curves and intricate details make it a standout example of modernist architecture. - cathyj420 contributionsRushed rip off tour. AvoidAvoid the Night Experience ticket. The tour is so rushed that there is not enough time to look around. They have tours booked one after the other and the guides have to move you through the building so that the next tour will start on time. We chose this tour as we thought the views at night would be good. But there was very little time to look around! The light show itself is a bit naff. I was not interested in watching projections that had no relevance to the building. A very odd idea. At the end of the tour there is a glass of Cava and a sweet nibble. The glass was only half full and because we had tried to look properly at the building we were the last to get our drinks. This meant that we had to gulp down our drink and leave within a few minutes. They literally told us to finish our drinks because the next tour was about to arrive. The only place they did not rush you through was the gift shop! Awful experience and very expensive. Really felt we had been ripped off. They need to reduce the number of tours they have so that each tour is longer.Written February 17, 2025
- SuperTed190 contributionsGreat Starting PointSince this was the first stop on our tour (WithLocals - Sagrada Familia and Casa Mila Tour: Light, Color & Architecture with Pili, which was excellent, by the way), we did not include a visit to the interior. Having said that, the house itself is impressive from the outside. Since you’ll be in the area for Botllo, it is worth taking some time to admire “The Stone Quarry."Written February 7, 2025
- T4681ZNhannahj0 contributionsNot Worth ItNot worth it. You walk up 8 flights of stairs to see a dining room, kitchen, attic and rooftop. The light show was very lame and childish. I do not recommend. Very overpriced. Maybe try the daytime tour if you’re that interested.Written January 9, 2025
- 907blaked0 contributionsUnderwhelming compared with other Gaudi sitesWe did both the daytime and the nighttime tours, and although I really wanted to like both, I ended up not really enjoying either, although the day tour was better than the night tour in many respects. As for the night tour, the light show on the roof was really amateur and not worth the money at all. The tour guide gave some information to our group collectively at the beginning, but it was limited. The remainder of the trip was hiking up and down the seven flights of stairs, and then watching a really bad 15 minute late show at the roof. As for the Daytime tour, at least you could tour an apartment, but it is evident that Gaudi paid a lot of attention to the façade of this building and to the two lobbies, but the apartments themselves were completely underwhelming. It’s almost like he phoned in his design of the apartment once he became obsessed with La Sagrada Familia, because the apartments lacked any interesting details or trim or other features shown in some of his other works. Compared to Casa Batllo, I’m not sure it’s even worth it to do a tour of Casa Mila because most of the interesting part of it is the outdoor façade, which can be seen for free.Written December 29, 2024

- 61Rose0 contributionsSpectacular buildingNo queues beginning of December. Many floors and rooms to see. There is a lift to take you to the attic and again to the roof bearing in mind there are stairs to negotiate...not too many...and many steps on the rooftop as it meanders up and down. A small gift shop halfway up and a larger shop on the ground floor. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Such a characteristic Gaudi building. We enjoyed it.Written December 13, 2024
- birolb480 contributions**Casa Milà**, popularly known as *La Pedrera***Casa Milà**, popularly known as *La Pedrera* ("The Stone Quarry"), is a famous modernist building located in Barcelona, Spain. Designed by renowned architect **Antoni Gaudí**, it was completed in 1912 and is considered one of his most extraordinary works. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Casa Milà exemplifies Gaudí's innovative approach to architecture, blending organic forms, natural inspiration, and groundbreaking engineering. Key features of Casa Milà include its undulating stone facade, wrought-iron balconies, and rooftop terrace adorned with surrealistic chimneys and sculptures. The building lacks straight lines, reflecting Gaudí's preference for organic shapes inspired by nature. Inside, the design incorporates innovative ventilation and light management systems for its time. Initially built as a private residence for the Milà family, it now serves as a cultural center hosting exhibitions, events, and tours. Visitors can explore the apartment museum, learn about Gaudí's creative vision, and enjoy panoramic views of Barcelona from the rooftop. Casa Milà remains a symbol of Catalan Modernism and Gaudí's genius.Written December 8, 2024
- HOS700 contributionsLoved it, loved it, loved itWhat can I say about Casa Mila (aka La Pedrera) that hasn’t already been said? Very little. My friend and I visited in a gloriously sunny week towards the end of November. Having been warned of long queues, we had purchased our tickets online beforehand, but when we arrived mid-morning, there was no queue in sight and we were admitted in seconds. We had booked on La Pedrera’s official website where there are currently nine different tour options available, but we only bought the Essential ticket with which you can walk through this astonishing building at your own pace and spend as much time as you like, using a free audio guide if you like. Tickets cost 28 Euro per adult and 19 Euro for seniors 65+ years. Not having been to any of Gaudi’s buildings before, I found the entry fee quite high but honestly, exiting Casa Mila after well over two hours spent inside and on the rooftop, I thought it excellent value for money and I would like to think that by paying our way in, we have contributed in some small measure to the upkeep of this amazing architectural gem. The publicly accessible parts of Casa Mila are in wonderful condition and spotlessly clean, including the visitor toilets. There is lots of staff, mostly young guides who are easy to approach and exceptionally friendly and helpful, with good to very good English. Obviously, such service comes at a price. Anyway, the building: I’ve never seen anything like it. Gaudi’s love of nature and organic shapes and forms showed in everything we saw. The man was wayyyyyy ahead of his time, combining art and design with practical elements, including the first ever residential underground garage, ventilation of the apartments contained in the building, ergonomic door handles etc. The visitable apartment is incredibly gorgeous, particularly for lovers of Art Nouveau. The attic construction is nothing short of astonishing. The roof terrace is just magical, and if you can tear your eyes away from the beauty of the roof, spare a glance for the gorgeous old buildings of the surrounding streetscape and also the Sagrada Familia in the near distance. I’m hoping to be back in Barcelona next spring to visit all of Gaudi’s visitable buildings and will definitely go and see Casa Mila again. My compliments to the welcoming staff, from ticketing to security screening, gift shop and housekeeping, and the young people from the visitor service team. Your genuine friendliness was much appreciated!Written December 2, 2024
- 527atac0 contributionsIt’s an amazing home to see outside and insideI thought the rooftop was fantastic, and the house is stunning both inside and out. - markKTM0 contributionsSunrise tour a big mistakeThe sunrise option at 39 euro was a big mistake. It’s not an exclusive experience at all - the group was huge and there are other groups going around, too. The guide seemed friendly but I couldn’t hear her and she was either unable or unwilling to raise her voice. In such a large group, it was impossible to stay near enough to hear her and even when I did, she was so heavily accented I couldn’t understand much. You are taken up to the roof in groups of 5-6 in an elevator (I rode up with the morning cleaning crew) so you line up waiting for the slow elevator - by the time we got up there, the sun was up - so much for the sunrise. Overall, it’s only a mildly interesting house and can’t hold a candle to Sagrada Familia or Gaudi’s home at Park Güell. My advice is to skip it.Written November 1, 2024

I paid $40 euro, which was $65 AUD which was well over priced and overrated experience. 1.15 time spent walking up stairs, looking at brick walls, and poor light display on roof for $65 . This was a scam and best spend on a restaurant meal and take pictures outside. Company should be ashamed charging families for this expensive experience.👎Written October 15, 2024

We visited Casa Mila "La Pedrera" in Barcelona located on the famous Passeig de Garcia and we loved the visit. It is a masterpiece of the architect Gaudi. We booked the tickets online to save time, we arrived on time and we absolutely did not wait (low season). On the other hand, we find that the price of the single ticket of 29 euros per person is overpriced and there are still few furnished rooms to visit and we spend too much time in the attic part. The explanations with the audio guide for the furnished rooms are a little light. The roof is worth a visit and it is the most interesting part of the tour and there is a beautiful view of Barcelona and the Cathedral la Sagrada Familia. Visiting this casa Mila is a must in Barcelona but you must break your piggy bank if you combine Casa Batllo, Casa Mila, La Sagrada Familia and the Guell Park!

La Pedrera, also known as Casa Milà, is a must-visit when in Barcelona. Located on Passeig de Gràcia, the most important avenue in the city, this building is one of Gaudí's most famous masterpieces, commissioned by Pere Milà and Roser Segimon in 1905.
As a museum visitor, you'll receive an interactive audio guide, which is incredibly helpful for understanding the history and significance of the building. Inside, you can explore how the Milà family lived a century ago, with exhibits showcasing the living room, kitchen, and nursery amongst others.
The highlight of the visit, without a doubt, is the rooftop. The architecture is outstanding, and the views are stunning. It's clear that many visitors come just for this part, and it doesn't disappoint. The audio guide adds depth to the experience by explaining the history behind the unique design.
You can easily spend about an hour and a half here. It's not as large as Casa Batlló and is slightly cheaper, though still on the expensive side. That said, if you're interested in architecture and Gaudí's work, it's definitely worth a visit.
Unlike Casa Batlló, La Pedrera isn't as crowded. I was able to buy a ticket just half an hour before entering, though I would still recommend booking in advance to secure your spot.

This is a stunning place to see - amazing quirky architecture, brilliant practical design.
It's also one of the top tourist attractions, so expect it to be very busy (at least in summer). We went at 6pm, supposedly outside peak times, but it was still crowded. You need to pre-book for a timed slot and be there on time. You can still expect to stand in a queue for a little while, as there is a small lift to get you up to the apartment where the visit begins. The alternative if you're reasonably fit is to take the stairs (I think there were around 6 flights to ascend).
There is an audio-guide with extensive descriptions - which can be a bit frustrating as it uses proximity sensing so it automatically changes chapters as you walk around, even if you're still listening to the previous chapter!
For us, the most interesting parts were the "attic" (the unique "whale-shaped" arch design and lots of interesting exhibits describing Gaudi's design process), and the roof (with beautiful views of Barcelona).
You can also book night-time concerts on the rooftop, which we did. This allows you to experience the views and the quirky shapes in a more leisurely manner, including seeing the sunset. However you won't be given access to the apartment.

Nice Gaudi building. Enjoyed the different levels. Appreciate the effort with audio guide but it was boring and not engaging so turned it off after a few minutes and enjoyed the art in front of us. Attic was really cool and rooftop was nice. We had a 9:45 booking, a lot of others but not overwhelming. Read a lot of reviews saying to go early to avoid larger crowds but that shouldn’t matter if booking a timed slot. Museum management should be limiting the number of people/time slot to ensure an enjoyable experience for all, especially for the price of admission to these somewhat small buildings. We went to Casa Batllo after this at 11:15 and it was pure chaos by that point. We found Casa Mila more interesting overall and if we had to do it again would only chose this one.

In addition the the Sagrada Familia (which is just awe-inspiring!) A visit to a Gaudi house seems essential on a visit to Barcelona. Given the pretty steep ticket prices, we decided to do one of Casa Mila or Casa Battlo. We researched them both and chose Casa Mila, which I really enjoyed.
What clinched it was that Casa Mila was about EUR10 cheaper per person (it seems Casa Battlo has a new VR exhibit and has jacked its prices accordingly) and that the rooms in Casa Mila are furnished, which brings the apartments to life a bit more.
The audio guide was excellent, really engaging commentary, which you can enhance with additional content from some QR codes dotted around the tour. The apartments and the commentary really do bring to life what living in this building must have been like.
When you get to the attic, there's a fantastic exhibition of how innovative Gaudi was and how he drew inspiration from nature. He really was an architectural genius way ahead of his time.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and feel I got value for money and a great understanding of Gaudi's work (do visit the Sagrada Familia as well though, it's stunning).
The exterior of Casa Battlo is more interesting, but you can see that for free a few blocks away. I learned from a walking tour that the interior design elements of Casa Battlo are more extravagant and boundary pushing that Casa Mila, and I'd love to see that sometime. I just can't justify dropping another EUR100+ for a family of three to enter to see much the same thing as we've seen in Casa Mila.
Everyone needs to make their own decision about what to see and what to spend money on, but I'm glad we saw Casa Mila and I feel I learned a lot about Gaudi and have a good appreciation for his outstanding work.

Called La Pedrera because of its stone facade, Casa Milà provides us with a trip back to the past by visiting the furnished apartment while listening to what Gaudí thought when creating each room. The terrace is different from everything I had ever seen, with its guardian warriors, which are nothing more than the ventilation towers and chimneys. From la you can also take great photos, including "securing" the Sagrada Familia

This is the second time I have visited. Entrance was easy and quick, the audio guide was helpful explaining Gaddis concept building this home.
You were not rushed during your visit.
The only thing I didn’t like is that since Covid pandemic like most museums in Barcelona, you need to book tickets in advance and present a QR code. The museum does have a free Wi-Fi link outside so you can book while you are there but the Wi-Fi signal drops out so it is difficult to book.
Not sure if it is me or if museums have increased prices phenomenally but it costs€25 or £25.
It s spectacular but not sure it is worth the entrance fee especially as I visited six years ago and it was half that price.

Thank you very much for your comments, we are glad you enjoyed your visit. We would like to take advantage of your comment to inform you that La Pedrera is the only exhibition space in Barcelona dedicated to all of Gaudí's work. In total, you can visit 4,500 m2 spread over five floors of the building.
Also, the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation allocates the revenue from the tickets it sells to social, environmental, educational and cultural projects that benefit thousands of people year after year.
Sincerely,

Everyone praises La Pedrera. Basically you visit a house from the early 1900s at a decidedly disproportionate cost.
Outside it is certainly a beautiful building that deserves the photo, it also has a particular terrace.
For the rest you can see the rooms in single file, with tourists "eager" to take photos at points that are also "normal" all things considered.
For being the first of the 20th century, very cutting-edge solutions are also found.
But it's definitely not worth the cost of the ticket.
I suggest choosing to visit just one of Gaudí's houses, if you really have this curiosity. And if you don't study architecture or design. Otherwise just see it from the outside.
Furthermore, it is necessary to book.

I visited Casa Mila during November 24, the attic display and rooftop Views were amazing.
I would say the price of the ticket is a little bit high at around £23, we spent just over an hour at Casa Mila so it is quite a short experience.
The audio guide is included in the ticket price and is quite informative.

La Pedrera is wonderful, if I give it a star it is because of the abuse in the price. Then they come with a cut and paste and tell you that the money is intended for social actions and blah blah blah. If you're tight on money, can't you visit La Pedrera? It is also curious that residents of Catalonia have half-price admission, the rest of the Spaniards are fine, on top of that the City Council already makes us pay a fee as if we were foreigners. In the cut and paste that those we criticize then engage in, they tell you that there are discounts for disabilities, retirees, etc. If I remember correctly, instead of €22 they leave it at €19 (sic), when the normal thing would be to at least match the price of residents in Catalonia. Go tease someone else. If Gaudí would raise his head... Nothing, I won't go until they put up the Inmaculada that he designed for the roof.

Good afternoon,
When we visited we visited Barcelona in April we walked up to La Pedrera and noticed that there was a podium directly in front of a cave like entrance. There was no one in front of us, we enquired how long it would be to wait to go inside and were told that if we paid a little more we could go in immediately. We paid were directed led into the cave like entrance given headphones and started our tour. You literally jump the queue it really is very well worth it. The headphones are excellent as they can detect where you are and the information is given at that point. There is no necessity to turn them off and on.
Enjoy, it really is a delightful tour.

Hi, I've heard from friends who visited La Padrera in April 2019 said the building was mostly covered by scuffles under repair. Is that true? Were you able to see much during your recent visit?
Thank you!

We were there last month, there was no scaffolding and the tour was outstanding. We went to both Melia and this one. We enjoyed ‘this tour so much more. A lot more details around Guadi. The only bad experience was at the front desk, they told us that they do not have a relationship with TripAdvisor and all tickets have to be printed out, so make sure you do that. We did not and had to wait management to intervene, 20 minutes later.

I do not see a place to choose a time for the visit for this ticket? So we can go when we want on the day that we have chosen?

If you bought "Skip the Line" tickets, you can go at any time you want. You will need to enter the building at the front and not at the side where people have timed tickets. You will be taken up to the roof via private elevator.

So is this a ticket for the whole day? Meaning I can go in at any given time I want within that day? Or how does that work?

It means you get a specific timed entry slot. You skip the line in that you do not have to queue to buy admission tickets on the day,as you have already purchased one.

I didn’t notice places inside the house where mobile phones were not allowed. Anyway, if there is any, it means you can’t use it, not that you have to get rid of it...

If I buy the ticket for one day and then for some reason can't use it until a few days later, is this possible?

Yes there is a senior rate. It cost 33€/$38.50 for the 2 of us. We got it when I booked on line for our visit 7/18/2018.
