- H8290GQdanield0 contributionsCraig was the difference...We were guided by Craig at Spanish Trails on a private tour of the Dali Museum in Figueres and his home in Cadaques. What made this tour so special was CRAIG! My wife and I are fans of Dali and Craig made this tour come to life with his in depth knowledge about the life of Dali and Gala and expansive information about the two towns that were just fantastic. Museums and castles are a dime a dozen. It is the people that make the difference and we would absolutely look to work with Craig again when we come to Barcelona next! Thank you Craig and thank you Spanish Trails.Written November 16, 2024

- ianlL7071GQ0 contributionsThe perfect complement to our Barcelona trip!A fantastic tour of Tarragona, Montblanc, and the Poblet monastery! Our tour guide Paula was very knowledgeable and kind, and was more than happy to accommodate our interests and preferences along the way. After several days in busy Barcelona, it was a great change of pace to be able to take in the history and scenery of Catalonia in a more relaxed, less-crowded environment. Thanks to Paula and Spanish Trails for an unforgettable experience!Written October 24, 2024
- 34jelmerk0 contributionsAmazing wine tour!Well worth the price tag! Small group with 2h transport to- and back from priorat. Great choice of different style vinyards and high quality (and quantity) wines tasting. A great lunch too which makes it a solid 5 stars. Highly recommended for wine lovers, get some amazing scenery along with it! Great tour guide with proper English skills and great knowledge. Well done Spanish trails!Written October 16, 2024
- suesA4216WI0 contributionsAbby shows us the town!Abby took 5 60+ folks on a tour of Barcelona Tapas that we would never have explored on our own! She had us outside the medieval walls and back to the old town and port and it was informative and fun! I can say that I would never have ventured into those areas on my own. It was FANTASTIC! Thank you Abby and cheers, we sipped and savoured all that Abby could introduce 🥃🥂🍷Written October 12, 2024
- 308melaniee0 contributionsSurreal Cadaqués and All Things Dalí Private Day TripThis tour was wonderful. Our guide, Paula, has excellent knowledge of Dali and his life. I don't see how you could tour the house in Cadaques without a guide as there were so many interesting facts about each room and the grounds. The Dali Museum was crowded so be prepared for narrow walkways, but it is worth seeing.Written October 11, 2024

Daryl was very informative and pointed out so many things that we would have missed had we been on our own. He also made recommendations for restaurants (even though this wasn’t a culinary tour). We had a great time and would highly recommend this tour!Written September 30, 2024

- Brandon J0 contributionsAmazing Tapas Tour with Craig! My wife and I did the tapas tour with Craig and had an unforgettable experience! Very personalized tour, - Craig was very knowledgeable about the food, the culture, and had valuable insights to share about navigating the city. Craig was so easy to get along with and was the perfect person to be leading a tapas tour. We’re so lucky we got to share the afternoon with Craig and learn from him, and I would recommend to anyone else who’s looking to further their appreciation of the food & culture while in Barcelona.Written September 3, 2024
- 473rodr0 contributionsIf you are into wine- DO THIS and ask for Craig by name, you won't be disappointedMy friend and I are wine geeks and this is one of the best tours I have ever done in Spain or France. Ask for Craig by name. He was smart, informative, and took us to a combination of smaller and larger producers with hands-on tours with owners in vineyards and wineries. His knowledge and insights were impeccable. Plus he was super cool to hang out with. The dude is an architect and history teacher, so he peppered his narratives with wonderful historical anecdotes and even provided restaurant recommendations and clued us in to local history, etc. Lunch was at a great winery and included wine pairings. And he was attentive to the little things- he had a cooler with water. Made coffee and rest stops, and was always attentive to our needs. He's the kind of dude you would love to hang out with and shoot the breeze over a beer or three. Thanks Craig, and kudos for such a great time!Written July 28, 2024

Our recent tour of the Pyrenees with Dan as our guide was nothing short of exceptional. Dan's enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion for the region were evident from the very beginning. He expertly guided us through the charming Pyrenees Village, sharing fascinating historical insights and anecdotes along the way. We had a terrific family outing with this hike, even with teens! Our guide Samuel had only our family on the tour, but he remained excellent to talk to throughout the day. That included during the drives back and forth to the mountains, which could have been a drag. The breakfast – charcuterie, croissants and coffee – in Rupit was tasty and a great start. His explanations of the history as we strolled through the village were evocative. Then the hike: it had several arresting lookouts, and the waterfall was a marvelous stop. The lunch after the hike was ample and delicious and the busy restaurant was charming, with snappy service. Samuel was always present and ready to engage with us. Ultimately, the combination of the village and the hiking balance very well.

One of the best tours I have ever taken anywhere. I booked a friend on this trip two years ago and she raved about the experience. I had to try it myself and it lived up to every expectatation.
The Hike was challenging but well worth it for the incredible views at the end. Lunch in Rupit is among the most memorable I have eaten anywhere in the world. Our phenomenal guide Craig kept us engaged with history and culture on the trip to Rupit and was a great trail guide on the hike. I will definitely do more tours with Craig and with Spanish Trails when I return to Barcelona.

I have been to the pre Pyrenees and Medieval town of Rupit tour with Spanish Trails. We had an amazing tour guide who knew so much about the Spanish and Catalan culture. The tour started with a traditional Catalan breakfast, which I liked a lot. The medieval town was very great to visit. The pre Pyrenees had an amazing view I had never seen in my life before. At the end of the tour we had an amazing Catalan lunch. The restaurant had so much to offer. Firstly we tried a local Catalan wine, which was a great experience. The amount of various meats they offered was unbelievable. This tour gets a 5-stars ranking from me. From food to wine, I experienced the local culture and it was wonderful.

This was not only one of the best experiences of Spain for us, but also the best guided tour I've ever had. We were, perhaps, lucky to have a personal tour for just two of us, my boyfriend and me. We were guided by an English guy, Daniel, who is an easy-going person. During our way to the mountains, he told us a lot about Catalunya and Spanish traditions in a way that it was interesting to listen to. We stopped at one village which is so authentic and well-preserved from 16-17th century. We had a traditional breakfast, which gave us enough energy for hiking. Despite it was the end of December and quite chilly in the morning, we were never cold. By the way, depending on your abilities to hike (e.g. health issues such as heart problems, age groups, etc.) and preferences, your guide could take you to a specific route to make sure that you get great experience, photos and feel fine during your hiking.
Since we are healthy young people, we went for an energetic 3h-long walk and made great photos of the mountains we climbed, the forest, the village and cattle, which I'm very fond of. Again, we learned a lot about Spanish culture while we enjoyed these splendid views.
After the hike, we went to a cozy restaurant in that village where we had a wonderful service and traditional food. We had several starters, main meals, desserts, and different drinks. The food was so plentiful (I would be still full if I'd share my portions with another person) and so tasty. We learned how to make some starters and definelly are going to make them at home.
After this, we walked through the village and felt there as we went back in time to see this magical place.
Overall, we fell in love with that place and would love to visit it again, perhaps, if we have an opportunity. We are also very grateful to Daniel who made this tour remarkable. It was a big pleasure to spend time with this person.

For the second Friday excursion of our study abroad program our wonderful and hilarious tour guides Jose and Alex took us up to the Rupit village. We were given a tasty breakfast before our hike and then set off to roam through the peaceful cobblestoned streets and drink in the gorgeous mountain view. The cool wind was perfect, away from the humidity of the city and we cannot stop taking pictures of the architecture and nature scenery. Our guides educated us with the history and evolution of the village, the common plants and flowers, and the remains of hunting traps and tombes used ages ago.
Jose and Alex knew where to get the best photos, and took us right on top of the flowing, clear waterfall and the whole group spread out on top of the rocks overlooking the vast green valley and the magnificent stone boulders. The hike was simple with just the right amount of difficulty to make us sweat and have a decent work out. After the hike we were treated to a glorious late lunch at a restaurant and stuffed ourselves silly with sausages, grilled meat, tomato bread (they gave us the ingredients to make it ourselves)...etc. A fabulous excursion that I will never forget!

We had a fantastic day - real highlight of our 4 days Barcelona to get out to country side.. our tour guide Antoine was brilliant, a lovely French guy who was extremely knowledgeable on allot of European history, not just Spain.. we had a lovely day with him, and taking us to eat very traditional food up in the mountains that we had not tasted or experienced in the city… we were fortunate to be the only people on the tour that day, so extra lucky… totally recommend…
