Our tour guide, Emi, made this experience so enjoyable! She was very knowledgeable about the History of Barcelona, she was very professional but also fun! We visited the places me and my partner wanted to see and had the time to take photographs as well as bathroom breaks. The bikes were easy to use and the tour guide also brings emergency tools just incase. The ride is mostly flat and safe to ride around on the roads. At the end you would stop for lunch (not included) by the beach and this gives you a chance to get to know everyone and compare experiences. Our tour guide, Emi, also shared with us her personal opinions on the best places to eat/go out/explore which were very useful. Highly recommended!

Rode the bike tour today--super fun & informative! Stephanie was an engaging presenter, knowledgable, & very friendly, welcoming & kind, incl. great with children who were present. (the 8-yr old boy LOVED it and was a champ on this tour btw.) Biking around was such a wonderful way to experience the city, I'm hooked! it was exciting to zip around and get a little exercise, learn about the bike lanes & traffic, while discovering the city for the first time. I want to rent a bike now during the rest of my stay, and Stephanie helped me w/ suggestions on places to go beyond. Ending with a group lunch on the beach allowed us all to chat & get to know each other more, talk about our travels & share stories, very rich experience! Highly recommended!

Spent Monday afternoon on this tour with 'Stru' as the guide. Lovely guy, full of info and interesting facts! Learnt lots about Catalunya and their battles for independence. Took in alot of the city, the city is so big, could easily have been a whole day tour..... Bikes were easy to use, we had a small stop by the beach for lunch (dont advise the nachos, not good value), you dont get much time at each stop to take pics or mooch around which is a bit of a shame (you kind of have to do that yourself if you want to grab your camera), but the tour was fun and easy going. No big hills and safe, despite the Barcelona traffic, would recommend!

Great way to move around Barcelona, gain local insight and some historical perspective. Ona and Anna were the best and managed to keep our group in tow while moving around some of the most recognizable city landmarks. Highly recommend as Barcelona is very well set up for bike travel and the tour was not strenuous even in mid-day heat reaching over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The tour included a lunch stop (you pay) at a beachfront pub style restaurant...a nice time to converse with the international assortment of our small group, and learn more about our very knowledgeable hosts. Ona and Anna both had recommendations for "not to miss" attractions as well. Highly recommend this very reasonably priced activity when in Barcelona, Look forward to enjoying one of the other Fat Tire Barcelona offerings next time!

Delighted our guides Annah and Ona were able to share their local insights with you, and you had the chance for us show you the spectacular range of what Barcelona offers culturally. Many thanks for sharing. We always remind guests that our tour is a taken at a comfortable, relaxed pace, on very flat terrain with plenty of breaks etc. Warmest regard from Fat Tire Barcelona!

We had the BEST time today with a friendly, funny and intelligent tour guide Ben. It did not feel like 4 hours, he made cycling round the city of Barcelona fun and informative giving us plenty of recommendations for the rest of the trip. Thank you for a fantastic start to our holiday! HIGHLY recommend!

We always like to go on an organised tour of wherever we go for a holiday as it shows you all the main sites and with a good guide you get a great insight into the local culture and area.
A large group of us met outside Costa Coffee in the Gothic quarter where we were organised into two groups and sent to get our bikes, 10 minutes later we were kitted up and ready to go with tour guide Kassidy, there were about 20 in our group.
Around the Gothic area we were mainly pushing the bikes due to the volume of foot traffic, but we were soon on the road and taking in the sites. I won't mention every stop, but we took in maybe a dozen or so stops with our guide keeping us informed and always open to answer questions.
Towards the end of the tour we stopped off for lunch, ,the particular place didn't interest us that much so we popped round the corner for something different.
The tour in total took around four hours and flew by, if you can ride a bike you will be able to take the pace as it is very sedate with very few inclines and if you do lag behind the guides will wait.
We paid around £60.00 for the two of us, which while not cheap was still worth it, great equipment, interesting tour and an informative friendly guide.

The company is serious about their clients.
We were handled well and the tour went on even though the weather was not sunny bright at 11:00am (luckily, the rain stopped during our 3.5 hours trip).
The bike tour is super fun: we see major barcelona sites, we understand their history, and get some cool pictures!
Our tour leader, Mikhail, is a great man! He knows the way, he understands the city, and he gives advices for us as a tourist.
If you happen in Barcelona as a tourist like we do, book this super cool bike tour!! A super fun to leisurely enjoy the city, only bike can do 🙂

Our tour was lead by Sofia, who was a wonderful guide, who was highly informative, and who also made our party feel safe and looked after on the roads.
Our party did he morning tour, leaving at 10:00am. This meant that it wasn't too busy and wasn't too hot when we began. The more comfortable and familiar you are cycling, the better, as this tour does eventually go through some busy areas of the city - even with the cycle lanes, the traffic and pedestrians can get hectic towards the middle of the day. However, this tour does take family groups, and will tend to group people of similar abilities, so nobody need fear they'll be left behind.
Throughout the tour, there are numerous opportunities to walk around certain sites and get photos, particularly Parc de la Cituadela and Basilica de la Sagrada Familia.
The tour is informative about the history of the region, its art, architecture, politics and culture in general.
If you can, I would suggest booking this early in your visit, as it's an excellent way to quickly see the sights and get a feel for which areas you'd like to revisit in even more depth in your own time, be that the museums, temples, restaurants or beaches. Sofia was even kind enough to share a list of recommendations for sights and food (including veggie options, which suited our party), as well as pointing places out as we cycled across the beautiful city.

I was there in Barcelona with my kids -- 4th time to the city, but decided to do a bike tour. Our guide, Elena, was FANTASTIC! She had a ton of energy, was very knowledgeable, and told us a lot about the city that I had never known. Highly recommended to everyone, first time there or 4th time!

What is the difference between the Barcelona tour and the small group tour?
Written August 25, 2021
I am looking at booking an 11.00am tour on a Saturday but have tickets for a Barcelona game at 4.00p.m. allowing for finish time and getting to the ground will i have enough time?
Written January 28, 2020
Agree it’s possible but does depend on how long the lunch goes. Maybe if you let the tour guide know he will move the group along. I believe we were back at the original meeting point by 3:30pm.

Hola! Do the bikes accommodate a water bottle and is water provided?
Written January 26, 2020
Water bottles were available for purchase, but not provided free. There was a rack on the back of the bike with straps to hold water bottles.
Written January 27, 2020
they typically operate year round BUT whatever you do be super vigilant about guarding your belongings, NEVER leave anything in an unguarded vehicle... pick pockets and thieves are extremely prevalent in and around Barcelona and are unbelievably brazen and will strike at any time !!
