- Connector654597519800 contributionsXavi is the best tour guide ever!Xavi as a tour guide was amaaazingggg! So informative! Such a fun sense of humour! Made the entire experience amazing! Our drive Alexander was amazing too! Very smooth! Absolutely loved the whole experience! And Xavi made it even more memorable!Written March 20, 2025
- 782sarikas0 contributionsGreat tour to 3 countries in 1 day!Amazing trip to 3 countries in 1 day. The guide Xavi and driver Alessandro were great! Full of knowledge, fun, and funny! Will definitely recommend!Written March 20, 2025
- chrs h0 contributionsOur Great Guide made the day!Our guide, Rod, was the best! He was so excited to teach us about Spain, that he even pointed out things on our walk from the tour office to the van we’d be using a short block or two away. He was animated and made the history so much fun, using maps and diagrams to help us put it all in perspective! He played fun music and gave personal attention to all six of us. It was raining hard for most of trip, but umbrella and rain gear helped us enjoy having the beaches and castles almost all to ourselves…no fighting crowds thru narrow passages and best photo areas. Our lunch at Restaurante Bruna was so delicious, authentic and welcoming. Dishes of seasonal foods delighted us. A selection of plates was described ahead so the food was waiting for us when we arrived. We enjoyed the little villages more after Rod introduced us to their histories. Yes, it rained, but we still enjoyed every minute! Thank you, Rod:)Written March 20, 2025
- Storyteller3148110 contributions15-Mar-2025We did not get to go to Ax a thermes due to weather. The alternative village was small and did not have much stuff to do. Andorra was mostly shopping - not much culture there. The medieval village was probably the high light of the tripWritten March 17, 2025
- BRockZXR0 contributionsDali fans must do this tour.An amazing time with our guide so many facts about Dali and Gala while in transit to the museum. The time at the Dali Museum in Figueres (included) was self guided and was approximately 1.5-2 hours long. Lunch (not provided) was in the beach town of CadaqĂ©s. My daughter and I ate at L’Hostal. The food was absolutely delicious. Just know that there is no emphasis on speed so it could take the whole time you are provided to get your food. We did the prix fixe menu and did not get to the dessert before we had to leave. The tour of the Dali House in CadaqĂ©s (extra expense) was amazing and was provided by a worker at the residence. The tour was about 30 minutes long in the house. You can view the gardens at your leisure before heading back to Barcelona. Total tour was approximately 10.5-11 hours but it was well worth the time if you love DalĂ.Written March 13, 2025
- T8842QVpauld0 contributionsMontserrat RegionMONTSERRAT-WINERY-FARMHOUSE LUNCH: Montserrat is absolutely beautiful. The roads leading to the are excellent and very well signposted. It was cold there, but the welcome was warm. The views over the mountains and valleys were stunning. Our time there was focused on the historical, spiritual and cultural interests we had. Lunch at the traditional farmhouse (Cal) Casseroles) was first rate. The staff made us very welcome and the food and wine were beautiful! The winery tour (Pares Balta Vineyard) was fascinating and very much worth visiting. Our host, Carlos, was very entertaining. We had a wonderful tour guide (Paolo from Explore Catalunya) and he made the day very personal. His knowledge is amazing. Every Q we had, he was able to answer. He was a great teacher for visitors and his love of this land and its peoples was evident throughout the day. It was clear he has a great relationship with the personnel at the various sites we visited. We really enjoyed our time with him. A beautiful region! Lovely people! A wonderful country!Written March 12, 2025

- Tarla C0 contributionsMontserratPablo Gavilan with Explore Catalunya was a terrific tour guide! He was very informative & also fun, good spirited & easy going. Answered all our questions and gave us so much insite & suggestions for different clients interests - we really enjoyed our time very much. Montserrat is very amazing!!! The staff at this business were all wonderful to deal with. The lady & gentleman at the check in desk were both super lovely to speak with - we did a half day tour yesterday and decided to book another for today. We would very Strongly recommend booking with them here if you are in Barcelona Spain! No regrets! MUCH better experience than just going to see things on our own.Written March 10, 2025
- H4690DQ_0 contributionsDefinately worth itThis trip is absolutely worth it! The guide was incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and brought a positive energy that made the experience even more enjoyable. Each of the three medieval towns we visited was breathtaking, with rich history, charming streets, and stunning architecture. If you love exploring picturesque destinations while learning fascinating stories from a great guide, this tour is a perfect choice!Written March 9, 2025
- pub490 contributionsPoor Guide on a Very Long Tour!We have been to Barcelona on five different occasions, so we wanted to explore the area outside of the city. The 3 villages we went to were quaint but had little to offer outside of food. The last town really could have been skipped. To make the trip a real disappointment was the guide. Our guide was obviously being trained so we had his trainer with us as well. They had very little to share while on the bus although the trainee had plenty of texting time. In the towns, I could get more information from reading the signs on the buildings than I did from him. If this is typical of the guides from this company, I would hesitate to book any future tours with them on my future trips to Barcelona.Written March 9, 2025
- Joanne L0 contributionsExcellent Tour!!This was a wonderful experience! Our guide, Rod, was fantastic. He was funny, informative, and very attentive to the needs of the older travelers in the group. Tarragona and Sitges are both absolutely beautiful. We loved getting out of Barcelona and just enjoying some beach time and soaking up some great history. We highly recommend this tour and especially our guide. He made the trip extra enjoyable!Written March 9, 2025

He engages with the travellers all the time and his meeting and time spent at each stop is clear. I fortunately the substitute town of Mont Louis was that interestingWritten March 8, 2025

- hilleryp0 contributionsIf you love Roman history, architecture or just beautiful scenery, take this tour!Well paced and informative tour. I love Explore Catalunya’s tours and this one did not disappoint. The Roman ruins are stunning and Stiges is a beautiful city. Our tour guide was flexible and focused his comments based upon our interests. I travelled solo and felt very comfortable. The small group tour format is the way to go!Written March 7, 2025

Our trip to Montserrat with Pablo was excellent. He was fun and informative. The Monestary is beautiful inside and listening to the chior was ethereal. Pablo was essential in laying out what options we could successfully accomplish in our time frame and we had a pleasant walk with breathtaking views because of his recommendations. Highly reccomend!

Pablo, our tour guide was a 5 star host. He is friendly and informative and went out of his way to make the youngster in our group feel included. Pablo is a great asset to the company. The tour itself was very good and well paced. It was not what we originally booked as a lunch was included. Pablo explained the reason for the change. However, the lunch was too much and too slow as the restaurant was busy. As a result, we missed a lot of the wine tour, which was disappointing. The part of the winery visit we experienced was very good. I would recommend changing the lunch to a maximum of 2 courses. Our small group was more interested in the winery visit, and such a big lunch was excessive, even though the quality was excellent. I would recommend this tour, especially if the lunch arrangements can be modified slightly. Thank you for hosting a memorable experience.

This was the highlight of our first European vacation. Rodrigo is a gem: he is a treasure of history and has a great sense of human. He even taught us some Catalan. The monastery was amazing; it was a unworldly spiritual experience is a surreal mountain that we will never forget. Our wine experience was a great ending to a memorable day. Christine let's us share a slice of life as a small batch organic wine producer - and some great wine.

What a wonderful experience on this lovely intimate private tour. It was a small party of six and our tour guide, Xavier, was amazing! He was knowledgeable, helpful and very entertaining. I would highly recommend this tour! Only advice, wear comfortable shoes for walking Montserrat and if you can, pack a lunch. Food up there is a bit expensive and not a lot of choices.

This tour won’t disappoint! We had a fantastic tour guide, Pablo. who was very knowledgeable. He gave us lots of historical and cultural information and was more than happy to answer questions. He also took us around Barcelona to explore the city. He led us to a very nice restaurant where we had delicious tapas and Sangria. Pablo is outgoing and funny which made the whole day touring a wonderful experience.

This was a fun and informative trip. Our guide, Pablo, was energetic and passionate about Monserrat and its history. We learned a lot, tasted great Cava (the Cava tour was excellent as well, with hosts who understood the history and virtue of Cava and the region). We would book this tour again.

We thought this would just be a tour of the famous mountain which is required if you visit Barcelona, but, Paulo enjoys what he does so much, that his infectious enthusiasm helped us all to actually see and appreciate what we were doing! It could have been just a day, but this fellow made it an adventure and kept on coming! If you can, ask for Paulo! You’ll be so glad you did…
