- travelmum55500Costa Brava with lunch day tripVisited Blanes botanical garden with option to visit beach too and also Tossa de Mer with another chance to visit beach. Lunch was included at a large farm type restaurant. Pick up point was central, although it would have been easier to have pick up from hotel as we had to taxi to get there. Friendly tour guide, but could have been a bit better organised. Lunch was average but did have vegetarian option which was good. Plenty of time at first stop. Lovely garden and great sea views. Tossa de Mer stop a little rushed. Old town attractive but the modern part very ordinary. Would have preferred to have stopped somewhere more authentically Spanish rather than touristy. Generally a good day trip but probably a bit overpriced, they probably make quite a bit on the lunch, which although it was paella, it was good rather than great. Got to chat to people from around the world at lunch which was nice.
- chonad17700Three in oneThe views were definitely breathtakingly beautiful. Our guide was very knowledgeable and charming. The only regret is we didn't have enough time to explore.
- MonaS127100Great tour!Sergio was an excellent guide. He gave us very good information with warmth and humor. I will send all my travel clients who visit Barcelona to Sergio!
- gunkiratk199400Amazing ExperienceWe had an amazing time with Judit and Tony on our trip to Costa Brava! We visited 2 small towns; Blanes and Tossa Der Mar, and had a wonderful time. It was very relaxed and we had loads of time to explore and see the place. Definitely recommend this experience!
- Journey53915700Barcelona Highlights! The tour was a great mix of Barcelona highlights. Sergio was very informative about all the places visited. He was also very helpful answering questions. I enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend it!
- richardcA1865AU00Three country excursionWe thoroughly enjoyed this excursion. Carlos was extremely knowledgeable and made the journey lots of fun. I enthusiastically recommend this trip
- DedeandDean00By Far the Best of Barcelona! From the old city, to La Sagrada and Parc Gruel, Sergio made our tour fun and informative. He gave a nice overview of what to expect, and shared personal stories to make it all memorable. After 15 days of touring around the Mediterranean, we found Barcelona to be most beautiful, and Sergio to be the very best guide.
- anthonye81000Amazing TourWe did the best of Barcelona tour with Sergio and Antonio. Sergio was very entertaining and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the history of the city.. Great tour!
- G1205NNnicoler00Just a really great day!First off, even though the start time is early there were plenty of moments to rest. Tip: dDon't be scared off from the long day. Judit, as our guide, and Hector, as the driver, were a really fun team. They both are beyond personable, professional, and fun. Judit was so knowledgeable and knew when it was best to speak about the history of of the 3 cities(countries) we saw. She gave some really nice suggestions that helped us enjoy our day that much more. In Baga we went for a short walking tour and then grabbed pastries at the bakery she suggested. The soft chocolate cream croissant was perfect. I was able to get some really quaint pictures here. Next stop was Ax-les-Thermes, France. This little town was amazing. We took the suggestion to walk around a bit. We grabbed some bread, wine, and cheese and then sat and soaked our feet in the hot springs. It was the best moment of our day, an absolute perfect moment. Tip- being a small wash cloth or towel to dry your feet. After, we headed off to Andorra. I honestly don't know how Hector was able drive through such heights. He really was conscientious while the views were STUNNING. Let me reiterate, STUNNING all the way to and through Andorra. This place is like a mecca for great views and crazy bargain shopping. Nothing was rushed or hurried. Everyone was so nice. Even at the end of our tour, Judit was so honest about where to go to eat and other sights to see. It was the start of the local festival and she made sure we knew what to expect in each area we were heading to.Can't thank then enough!
- Sarah G00Worth the time!We learned so much on this tour! Our guide was wonderful and had the best tips for us. The tour of the different towns was a wonderful way to get a taste of the area. I had no idea about Andorra till we visited. And the healing hot springs in Ax Thermes were a great way to eat our French picnic lunch. I would highly recommend!
- AphiQ5700Absolutely the Best Tour and Tour Guide That We Have Ever Had!It all started with our tour guide ROD! Very engaging, entertaining, and informative! The sights that we visited were truly the best of Barcelona and there is nothing that can be said about La Sagrada Familia that hasn’t already been mentioned. If Yaoundé take a tour in Barcelona, take this one and specifically ask for Rod as your guide.
- LoveTravel20881300Yeah for Robert!Robert was a fantastic guide; knowledgeable without being preachy, humorous without being offensive, and personable without being ‘in your face’. We were so fortunate to have been on his team!
- I2546VAdamienl00Very informative tour in great places of BarcelonaThe full-day tour combines a walking part in the old town, a quick bus tour to Montjuic, and visits of major Gaudi landmarks (Sagrada Familia, parc Guell, La Pedrera) The guide is energetic and gives a lot of historical context. Only reason I don't give full marks is that the tour feels a bit rushed at times. You have to pay separately for your entrance tickets to the places, but there isn't really enough time in to fully enjoy the masterpieces that are la Sagrada Familia and parc Guell. I think it would be better to cut out the Montjuic part to get a bit more time for the rest
- elissalamonewhnp00An absolute MUST DO if visiting Barcelona!!Rod was absolutely phenomenal!! A great historian and gentleman. We learned so much about Barcelona history, it left us wanting to learn more. Highly recommend this tour with Rod!! So happy we did this tour on our first day here!
- Voyage1615309741600FunGreat guide. Walk’s very fast. Will recommend to anyone. Rod was super.Great job with pictures, maps, interaction with the group

My husband and I took the day trip to the Salvador Dali museum in Figueres and his former home in Costa Brava in February 2019. It was exceptional, truly a highlight of our time in Barcelona. It's a long day, but totally worth it. I always like to know in advance about opportunities for food, drink, and bathroom breaks, so I will share these details. I brought a small backpack with water, snacks, and a sun hat and was glad to have these items.
First, you meet at the office, which is easy to find and has bathrooms. the van was comfortable (it was a minivan that sat about 10, not a big tour bus). Our tour guide Ana was delightful - very energetic and informative. We were a small group, which was nice. If you care to bring a snack or beverage, you can't eat in the van, but there was time to eat and drink before going into the museum and after coming out. There was also a small cafe that we stopped in while Ana parked the van. There were bathrooms there and also opportunities for coffee, food, and other beverages. Of course there were ample bathrooms in the museum.
When we arrived at the museum, Ana kept us together as a group for a short time and gave us details on some key Dali works. After that, she turned us loose for over an hour to explore on our own. The museum is every bit as zany, quirky, and full of unexpected delights as you would imagine.
From there we went to the Costa Brava. The drive was extremely beautiful, winding and mountainous. We had time to walk the lovely coast and have lunch. There were several restaurants and a cute bakery. My husband and I had a picnic on a bench. I can't express how scenic and lovely the Costa Brava is.
We met back up with the group at a designated time to proceed to Dali's former home. This cost a few Euros extra and some of the people in our group chose to opt out and further explore the Costa Brava. They missed out! The house was spectacular. We had a good guided tour and got to see where Dali painted (including a contraption he had built to raise and lower large canvasses). The bedroom was multiple levels and highly decorated. Best of all was the pool area and the extensive paths and gardens, all overlooking the stunning ocean. There were bathrooms at this location.
The ride home was long, around 2 hours. I think many of us dozed off. We got back to town around 7:30.
I had been on the fence about taking this day trip because it is not inexpensive and I wasn't sure I wanted to take a whole day away from sight seeing in Barcelona. I'm very glad we did - it was truly a highlight of our visit. Nice to get outside the city and great to see some fascinating art and learn a lot more about Dali. Highly recommend!

Hello,
What a lovely, detailed review you have made. I really appreciate the effort to send it, and give us your feedback.
I will let Anna know, for sure. I understand it is not the cheapest tour, but it looks like you had a great time and got you good value for money.
Best regards,
Robert

We had a great day on this day trip from Barcelona. Feliciano, our guide, was wonderful. Not only was he knowledgeable about Dali, but he actually told us in depth details about his life and his art. Listening to him made the time fly on the road trip to Figueres. Feliciano went out of his way for us to make the tour the best it could be.
Dali was a mad genius, as can be seen in his museum. Do not miss his jewerly collection! Cadaques is a stunningly beautiful coastal town. Feliciano gave us suggestions where to eat, no matter what we wanted to experience. Finally we visited Dali's home where you see beautiful views and a crazy eclectic collection that mirrors Dali's life.
You really can not go wrong with this tour, you will definitely enjoy it. If you get Feliciano for your tour guide, you are LUCKY. You will walk away from this tour feeling not only you know Dali, but you also have a friend in Barcelona.

Explore Catalunya and this tour completely exceed my expectations - it was the highlight of our trip to Spain!
When I first ordered the tickets the international charge on my card was rejected. When I called Explore Catlunya an english speaking agent picked up the phone and offered me immediate assistance. Amazing!
On the day of the tour it said to meet outside the Palau de la Música Catalana, so we assumed that meant look for a tour guide with an umbrella. In reality we went into the Explore Catlunya offices for a forma check-in procedure and met with our guide who explained the timeline for the day. I was very impressed with the organization and efficiency of the check-in process.
We took a small coach with the 8-ish other people on our tour. Our guide was so knowledge about Gaudi and made the hour long bus ride go by in an instant with all of the great history and colorful detail she provided. Upon arrival at the museum she coordinated our ticket pickup and gave us a quick 15 minute tour highlighting important pieces and areas she recommended - we then had about an hour and a half to explore on our own.
We then headed to the Costa Brava where half the group stayed for the rest of the day and the other half ate lunch and then went on to Dali's house/museum. The cost of these tickets was not included in the tour price but was very reasonable (around $10). The Costa Brava was absolutely breathtaking and felt like we were in Greece - there were restaurants right on the beach and an antique market in the square. Dali's house should not be missed! They keep the tours very small and it was truly an intimate look at his private life.
This tour exceeded our expectations in terms of value, price and customer service. I could not recommend the tour or the company more highly.

My wife & I booked Explore Catalunya tours for a 10 hour day from Barcelona to Figueres. Rod, our guide, was exceptional. His high level of knowledge, along with his insights and passion for Catalonia, were inspiring. He readily and very capably answered all of our questions and gave us insight into the economic, political and cultural differences existing in Spain. His passion for Dali helped us to better understand the genius of this complicated artist. We would highly recommend him and the tour company!

I had wanted to visit the Dali Museum for many years and it finally happened. Our guide, Rodrigo, was excellent! He picked us up (just my husband and me), on time in our hotel lobby and got waters for us for the ride. He was so informative providing an overview about the trip and sharing many details about the areas we drove through. When we arrived at the Museum, he shared details about Dali's work and life and guided us to select pieces of work, providing more details specific to the paintings and answered our questions.
He then gave us time to wander about on our own and explore more work in detail. He gave us a meeting point for the next part of the tour, which was a drive to Port Ligat for lunch, where he told us of recommended lunch spots. After a lunch (on our own), he picked us up drove us on to Salvador Dali's home. He walked through the house with us and offered more info following another guide who took us through each room.
He was very courteous, asking us if we wanted cold drinks or needed to use the restrooms along the way. On our drive back to the hotel, Rod and my husband enjoyed talking about paella recipes and he continued to provide many great historical details about the countryside and about Dali and other artists.

Rodrigo was an excellent tour guide and felt like an old friend by the end of the trip. I couldn’t recommend a better person to spend a day with to learn more about the life and art of Dali.

It is a long day trip, start it at 8:30 am until 7:30 pm. Our tour guide ( Arnold) was excellent, he spoke English very well and provided us a lot of great information about Dali’s life. He was a very friendly and knowledgeable person. We started at Figure , Dali’s museum and continued to visit Cadaques, a beautiful and magnificent city almost at boarder of Spain and France. We followed to see Dali’s house and we ended up to high point’s of Cadaques, a place with a beautiful view of ocean. During our visit at Figure, we saw a church that Dali’s had baptism and funeral. It was a long day but it was worth it.

Yes - after the Dali museum we drove to the coast and we were able to walk around the town and have lunch before departing for Dali's house (perhaps 2 hours?). Half the tour stayed in the town in lieu of going to Dali's house.
Entrance to the museum was paid in advance and we paid the guide directly for entrance to the house. She bought the tickets right before we went in.
