We had a great experience with this Bus Tour. The staff was very friendly. We only had one day in Barcelona, so this was the best choice to sightseeing Barcelona!

    A Day Trip
In Barcelona on a day long Cruise Stop over. Decided to take this bus to see the city. We went on the Red and Blue routes which took much longer than expected particularly the blue route as we were stuck in traffic for most of it. The sights we did see were interesting and we decided to come back to Barcelona for a long weekend to explore further.

    Three tours in one
This is a good way to get your bearings and get around. We got rather stuck on a long boring loop through the northern suburbs on the way out to the football stadium (not worth it), but as a way to get to Sagrada Familia from our parking place it was ideal.

    Day trip to Barcelona
We decided to visit Barcelona for the day on our holiday to Spain , this looked like the best way to see as much as we could in the time we had . The routes are very good if you get to a place you want to visit you can just get off and look around and then get on again when another bus turns up . There are 3 routes ( red , blue and green) we did them all lots to see without having to walk too far if you want a rest for the day . We only got off to eat and drink as your not aloud to eat or drink on the bus which is hard on a warm day , would recommend this for children as a way for them to see a city without having them moan about walking too much .

    Too expensive, takes for ever.
We paid 130 E for the family and were told that the tickets were good for 24 hours. Next day we were denied access to the bus! The woman on board offered to sell us new tickets! Are you kidding me? 130 euros? It's a bus ride, for crying out loud! The ride itself is about 2-3 hours long, depending on which route you choose. Be sure to sit upstairs or tou won't see much.

    Best Sightseeing Tour So Far
We have used CitySightseeing in over 10 countries, most of them being bad, but this one was 5*, it was run by the public buses, buses were frequent and didn't have to wait longer than 5 minutes for one, staff were friendly and helpful. Tour was very informative and covers a wide range of areas.

The longest city sightseeing I've ever seen
There are 2 lines, and all the excursion takes 4 hours each. This is the longest city sightseen I've ever got. The price is somehow expensive, but I think it's worth

    Best Idea
This method of transportation to see all of the city sites was amazing. One stop was walking distance to hotel. Drivers were all good and friendly. Never was too busy to get a spot. I recommend this to everyone going to Barcelona.

Good way to see more about the city in short time
It was really a good service, sign at the stops, at some stops there was also a steward and more hosts, the host on the bus was always clear, nice and smiling. I used all the lines, the blue to go to Par Guell, go around the city (it takes quiet a lot but the city is big :D), and switch then with the red line. i wen to Placa D'Espanya, walking till the castle and take the bus again until the beach where I used the green line to go all around the "modern" part of Barcelona. The audioguide was quiet interesting, I love the first song from stop 1... it was also played around the city! All the hosts at the stops were nice, I just remember the name of Laura at the Sagrada Familia but everyone were good ;D The frequence of the bus is write at the stop like the first and last bus from there. There were few times few busses in a row but anyway even if I had to wait, the waiting time was really just 5 minutes, at least until when I used the service (19:00)! The map and the stop were clear and everything very useful! I did everything in one day!

Say goodbye to your money :(
Good by for your money if you lost the ticket. There is no way to get your ticket back even if you have proof of purchase, voucher, invoice and everything else. Be careful!

Great way to see the city!
I went on this because I couldn't get into la Sagrada Família. Ticket office very helpful. I did the route that went around by Camp Nou. Great way to take in the sights. I would have done the other routes if I had time. The disposable earphones were quite uncomfortable - may be take your own. recommend - I thought this was good value.

Voucher is sold as good for 24 hours it is not
Do not use viator to book this excursion. We were told and the voucher says good for 24 hours. We were in town for 24 hours, from 3 o'clock Wednesday to 3 o'clock Thursday. We asked and were assured we only needed to buy a one day pass. We were denied entry on second day.

    Useful way to see Barcelona
Used this hop on / off service to get a extended look around the city. You get earphones to plug in and select your required language. Generally a good service but does get busy especially around the central popular tourist stops. If possible pick a stop further away from Plaça de Catalunya and use early / late in the day to miss the long queues. There are three main coloured routes which are all worth doing if you have time.

Total waste of money! After stranding us on the other side of the city for over an hour while 2 busses stopped only to tell us they were full to keep waiting. Having had knee surgery a month ago, the idea of standing and waiting another hour for busses to come by only to say they are full, we ended up having to take a taxi. The bus tour guide said they would refund our money where we got the tickets. She only said that so that she could close the door and leave us stranded. When we got back to the ticket counter they treated us like we were the problem. Either run more busses or sell less tickets! My only advise to you if you take this tour after reading this is make sure you have taxi money to get back to where you need to go, because they simply do not care about stranding clients that paid 55 euro..

Did not consider a sightseeing tour more of an expensive way of getting close to the sights! The tours only go anti clockwise around a very long route. I joined the blue route at Sagrada Family and wanted to go south to the Gothic Quarter. The bus took me on at least a very boring hours journey north across to the very west back into the centre and then southwards, where I got off and decided to walk because the southbound red bus would take me on another huge loop in the other direction.
I walked and had a much better feel for the city and saw much more. I spent the rest of the walking and discovered soo much. I did find myself at the port in the early evening so hopped on a red bus to take me back to the centre. Again a very long drive but I needed the rest! On getting to the fountains I waited for the bue bus to take me to the north where I had parked my car. I waited, and waited a blue bus turned up and drove away. This was about 9pm. Looking at the website the 'tours' finish at 7pm!!!
In short I jumped on the metro. 4 stops, 9 mins and 2.40€ and I am back at the car.

The bus is a very expensive 30€ to waste valuable time in visiting such a beautiful city

We purchased this bus tour as we have a small child in a stroller and this seemed like the perfect way to see the city as the busses advertise as family and stroller friendly. Unfortunately that was not our experience. The busses have one spot where the stroller can go while setup, this spot was often occupied by people without strollers or wheelchairs, also no problem as we can fold our stroller and sit elsewhere, well big problem the bus refuses to wait more then 30 seconds for us to fold the stroller down and come aboard. We got driven away by 4 buses until finally one driver waited long enough for us to get situated so we could finally do our tour. It is not worth the money for families with small children and I can’t recommend this company for the reasons above.

Let me state that I was listening to the English version. Maybe the others are better. I thought this would be a good way to get the "lay of the land" quickly. It does take you to many of the city's historical sites, but the narration often doesn't really match up to the GPS. Additionally, to call it a tour is a misnomer. It's more like a "drive by" and very little explanation is given and no history at all. I eventually gave up the narration and just counted the stops on the map so I would know where I was. Don't waste your money. Additionally, some of the ticket collectors were rude and twice we were left as we were walking up to the bus stop.

After walking around Barcelona in the heat on our first day, we chose to give the Bus Tour a go. It was a convenient (and cooler) way to learn more about the city and the different sights to see.

We went on the red route and found it very informative. It gave us more ideas on where to go next- we particularly enjoyed the tour of Montjuic and spend the next two days exploring this area by ourselves.

The bus itself was very busy- staff did really well to manage all of the different customers they met. We bought tickets online and we got a small discount in doing so. We showed this to the staff on board and they printed us a ticket which we used the next time we boarded.

Overall, would recommend but at the same time, you could easily see these sights yourself (if you don't mind the heat).

We had a 2 day pass on the City Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off. The first day we did both the red and blue routes to familiarize ourselves with Barcelona and the layout of the city. The red route is about 90 minutes, while the blue route is about 60 minutes.

It was deathly hot and the upstairs portion of the bus was sweltering. If you did not wish to sit in the sun, there was an option to sit downstairs in the air-conditioned portion of the bus. The staff was very accommodating although some of the downstairs audio ports didn't work too well.

The second day of our tour, we took the bus to Sagrada Familia since this was also our mode of transportation. This time unfortunately the bus driver did not wait for people to sit down before rushing off to their destination. We were very surprised that the ticket person started yelling at the people moving about the bus to sit down - this was not their fault since the driver was speeding off and running red lights. I was glad we were seated downstairs & were not climbing up the stairs when this was happening but thought it was awful that the driver didn't wait. There really was no rush.

The price of the 2 day pass is worth it, especially if you want to see the entire city and use this as a mode of transportation. The buses come very frequently - almost every 10 minutes which was impressive.

We completed this bus tour in order to get a full overview of Barcelona. We also had a daughter carrying an injury incurred earlier in our holiday so it was an ideal option. To do the full tour ie blue and red routes, allow four hours, only getting off to change from blue to red as you have to do at some points. We did it this way but if I were to do it again without injuries impacting our decision, I would recommend getting off at Sagrada Familia, Park Güell (you can't see it from the bus), Camp Nou, one of the stops in Montjuic for the views over the city (eg MNAC art museum or Teleferic de Montjuic), Port Vell, Casa Batllo (a stunning Gaudí creation). It costs €30 each and you receive headphones that you plug in beside your seat, selecting the language of your choice. The audio is very clear but descriptions of places are given before you see them, something I found frustrating especially at the start when I did not realise this was how it was done. I do recommend it as a great way to see Barcelona but not in one go which means devoting one full day to this tour.

The Barcelona Hop-On Hop-Off bus is a must. It takes you around the entire city and provides the best overview of all the available sites. The buses arrived very often as we rarely waited at any stop. The audio provided was helpful in learning about the city's rich history. We saved many walking steps riding the bus as we booked for two days (much cheaper) as we rode both the Red and the Blue loops. A very clean and efficient option with a stop right outside our hotel.

So, the hop on and hop off tour bus is a proven concept in many cities. Barcelona is no exception in many ways. There are 2 routes. The orange and the green. Both offer some great sites to view although both are also punctuated with a lot of stops I didn’t think were of great interest. For example, the main train station and the ferry terminal. These stops are obviously convenient if you hop on from there but are of less interest to most I would guess.

The routes are very busy, the green less so. The bus was clean and offered commentary in many languages which was good. The routes themselves are rather frustrating, not least because of the amount of stops but also, transit around Barcelona is slow thanks to the millions of traffic lights. It makes for a lot of time sat on a bus, going nowhere.

Personally, I think there are too many stops and spread too far apart as the tours take so long, you end up having little time to then retrace the route and get off at places of interest. If you can, a two day ticket may be better.

We sat on the upper deck and have lovely views of the city on what was a lovely sunny day.

Overall, a good way to see things but a little long for my personal taste and a rather convoluted route which not only saw 3/4+ stops duplicated, but also took in a lot of things I’m not sure add any real value to the tour….although granted, that may simply be an effort to provide broad access to many people.

Tickets were 35 euro each for a day for adults and 45 euro for 2 days, which in hindsight, might actually be the way to do it.

Having read reviews beforehand about over crowding and waiting times (especially at the 'must see' points) we were reluctant to use this service. However, arrived at Pl.de la Calunya, at 9ish on a Friday, second in queue, helpful lady explained that weekends are very busy but today was quieter so took a chance. So glad we did.
Red and Blue lines take you all around the city. Earpiece guide information was very useful but occasionally too early or too late (due to varying traffic conditions).
If you ony have a few days in the city as we did, the bus is a good way of getting a flovour of this wonderful city. However, seems best to avoid weekends.
Recommend stopping off at the 'Blue Tram' stop (Tram Azul) to take bus up the hill and Funicular railway (3,5 euro each) up to the hights for a panoramic vista of the city.
