Earlier reviews weren't too good, however we found the experience fine. they run approximately hourly mid week but are more regular at weekends. 16 euros for the 1 1/4 hour trip and 20 euros if you take in the land train, at stop 5, to Magdalena Peninsula (worth visiting). The English commentary was fine, interesting and well produced. We have travelled on this company's buses, worldwide, and I would say the tour was above average.

The route itself is not bad, and quite scenic. The information in the audio is not super interesting. But when a cruise ship arrived in Santander on our 2nd day, people were queueing up like crazy, passengers had to stand, and very often people had to wait 2 or 3 buses (1 hour or more) before they managed to jump on board.

We generally like the open top bus tours as a way to orientate ourselves in a new city. This one was unfortunately not as good as others we have experienced. The audio content provided was interesting and informative however there was not enough of it primarily because the bus spent very long periods of time waiting at several of the bus stops on the route. I guess if you knew where the delays were going to be then you could hop off but this was certainly not clear to us and we really just wanted to do the whole tour.

Do NOT use the Hop On Hop Off from the Santander cruise terminal. We arrived unexpectedly in Santander, Spain due to a ship diversion. We thought it would be nice to get an overview of the city and then select a museum to see.
When we got off the ship, there was a Hop On Hop Off stop. There was a person with a mobile credit card machine and we paid 40 Euro for 2. After we purchased and got in line, we found out that there was a number on our receipt/ticket. After about a half hour, the bus came. And so did a whole bunch of people with lower numbers who were put in front of us in line. They had been told to "go have a coffee or something and come back later." We had number 28. We couldn't get on the bus because it was full. We were told we would have to wait another hour for the next bus, and that if enough people didn't get off, we wouldn't be able to get on that bus either. AND it is Spain so the bus doesn't run from 1:00 to 2:30 we were advised. It was 11:00 a.m. by this point.
We asked for our money back but we were told the ticket was non-refundable.
We walked to the Maritime Museum, which was a bit of a hike (and recommended). We got nothing but aggravation and lost time standing in line for our 40 Euros.

This is a total waste of time!!! I've been on these city sightseeing buses in 30 different cities and this is the worst by a long shot. Long stops, big delays and very expensive at €20. The driver is pacing the pavement at each stop having animated phone conversations while we wait for 15 minutes for something to happen. You have been warned!!

Don’t do it, was oversold the ticket price to the 48hr ticket which included the train. Wasn’t asked what options we wanted or price differences. Waited 30mins to refill people at the start so it left with a full bus.
The Commentary wasn’t clear on what stop it was. No signs on any of the bus stops…. This concerned us as it was a worry about where to get picked up.
Waited such a long time for a bus when we did get off to see something (40mins).
Waste of time waiting around all day!!! Save your money and go on the public buses which had passed us several times while waiting. The bus was clean.

If I could go lower than a one on the review, I would. We were sightseeing in Santander when we saw a Hop on/Hop off bus go by. We accessed their site and figured out where we could catch their next sightseeing bus. Having used their services in a number of other cities, we went to a stop and waited. The usual wait is 15 to 20 minutes. We waited and waited and waited. There were several other groups of people waiting at the stop. After an hour and a half we walked to a cafe near the stop. We had drinks and a snack while we waited for the bus. We finished at the cafe and after two and a half hours…still no bus in sight.
I contacted their business by email, no telephone number to contact. I got an automated response fairly quickly. The response said they were confused as to what my issue was. I responded. They again responded saying they didn’t understand. I responded again. Today I get an email saying they’re closing out my complaint because I didn’t respond.
This was a terrible representation of their overall business. Hop on / Hop off…you need to clean house in Santander. They’re worthless.

We decided to take this tour as a good way to see Santander and they conveniently pick up right outside the dock. We asked for two bus tickets but were sold tickets that included a walking tour (at an extra 8 euros 50 cents each). Unfortunately we didn't discover this until half way round the tour and we never found the walking tour at all. At a total cost of 47 euros for two people I consider this to be a rip-off! So if you are thinking of using City Sightseeing Santander please check your tickets carefully - the walking tour is marked as 'paseo a pie' on your tickets. Also, departure times are very haphazard - we were sat in the full sun for over 40 minutes at one point. Back on board we discovered that we weren't the only ones sold unwanted walking tours - it seemed that people didn't get a choice. Plus it was cheaper to get a taxi to do the same tour - perhaps something to consider instead?

Our walking tour starts everyday from the stop Estación MarÃtima at 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. according to the schedule of the cruise of the day. This information is provided when purchasing the ticket by our staff at the stop. We are sorry if some information has missed out.
Regarding the frequencies, sometimes due to traffic or the influx of passengers, departure and arrival times can be modified. Once again, please receive our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are working on improving the frequencies and schedules.

We paid Euro25 each for this tour which we found out later included a one hour boat tour - we did not want such a boat tour having arrived by ship and could have paid less for just the Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour alone if this had been explained to us. In addition, we were told that the bus would be leaving in 10 minutes but instead the bus waited until it was full, which was at least 40 minutes alone. The route itself was interesting but not worth the money we paid.

Took the bus today and wait time is in excess of 45 minutes. Not worth the money. You are better off taking public transportation. Tons of excuses but traffic was light today. The bus stops and you have a long wait until they sell tickets on the sidewalk. NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

El precio de 15€ es el precio por persona para 24 horas del autobús turÃstico solamente. O por lo menos eso es lo que me cobraron a mÃ.
