We chose this trip as there were only small groups of 8 on board ( some of the other excursions seemed to have large numbers and people were packed in the boats). We booked online and were contacted straight away to say that we could be picked up from our hotel in playa de la arenas. On the day we were collected at 9.40 as agreed and taken to the boat. It is big enough for the 8 and you are able to sit up front or further back under cover. There were three crew on board and we set off very promptly. Shoes off to get on the boat. Within 10 minutes we saw our first dolphins. Three were at different points around the boat. We travelled a little further with no luck but then the boat was turned around and we saw pods of 6/7 around the boat. It was a beautiful sight. We spotted a turtle also - though only a fleeting glance. Sadly no whales this time. However the boat trip was excellent. David the captain spoke really great English and gave us massive amounts of information about the whales, dolphins, turtles and bird life as well as Tenerife in general. The others on the boat were German and Spanish so he was talking directly with us for a long time.
There was fruit available around 11am and drinks offered soft or alcoholic. After 2 hours of sailing we went across to a bay in front of the Los gigantes cliffs and were able to get in the sea and snorkel if we wanted or just sit and take in the scenery- no pressure either way. We then had a sandwich and a drink before heading back to the harbour. We took advantage of the lift back to the hotel. A great trip and although a little more expensive than some would throughly recommend this. Thank you to David and the team

Thanks a lot for the wonderful review, we are so glad that you enjoyed our trip. That's our life's work to offer a small group a really nice day at sea and try to find as much wild life as posible. We will have to raise the salary of the whales for next time.

Had a delightful time on our whale watching tour! The captain and first mate were wonderful, educating us about whales and dolphins and serving us delicious sandwiches for lunch. We spotted many mother and baby pairs of both dolphins and pilot whales. It was so relaxing to be out on the sailboat. There were 9 of us on the boat. Highly recommend this tour!

The crew were very good about the sea sickness one of us had, didn’t make a big deal of needed a bin bag and catered to our vegan lunches. Very positive experience.
The pick up from our apartment was free so all in it was not expensive either. All in really good and i would recommend them.

I can’t begin to explain how amazing Third Element are from start to finish. It’s clear it’s more than a tour, they really love what they do.
Ahead of the cruise there was fantastic communication from the team, on arrival we were greeted with smiles. Set off with 8 of us on board - plenty of space onboard on this 45ft yacht.
Jaime and Belin were our guides, Jaime an experienced captain and Belin a marine biologist. Throughout the tour they explained so much as we watched baby dolphins and pilot whales of the coast of Los Gigantes.
We finished the three hours with a swim underneath the cliffs followed by a fresh sandwich onboard.
Jaime also recommended many local places to explore, eat out and discover. A truly fantastic all round caring experience.
Well done team - hope to see you again.

A very pleasant trip on a well kept sailingboat. Friendly crew with good knowledge of marinelife.
While going out to spot the Pilotwhales, we were served Cava (or whatever you prefer) and where told about the whales. We had to wait a while for the whales to come back up from the depth, but suddenly a large family came up for air and warmth. They kept us company for a while, and then went back to the depth again.
We then sailed closer to the cliffs of los Gigantes, met a few playful dolphins and then had time for some snorkling and magnificent views of the cliffs.
Nice sandwich and a drink before heading towards the harbour again.

This is, by far, one of the best whale watching/boat excursions we’ve ever done. Relaxed atmosphere and small number of guests means that you have a unique experience. The boat itself is beautiful and we saw many pilot whales, including some babies.
The crew speak a multitude of languages, so can explain everything to everyone and they are clearly very knowledgeable in regards to marine wildlife.
Lovely opportunity to swim at the end and snorkel in a sheltered cove, with freshly made sandwich waiting when you returned to the boat! Plenty of drinks on offer (soft, water, beer, cava etc)
We were collected from our hotel and also dropped back - which just added to the overall relaxing day! 110% recommend

Really highly recommend this trip, the tour guides are super friendly, welcoming and speak a whole myriad of different languages so no one misses out on anything. Drinks and food are provided, my boyfriend is gluten intolerant and I’m a pescatarian so it was brilliant that both of those are provided for with gluten-free and veggie sandwiches (which you don’t even need to request ahead of time).
Plenty of space on the front of the boat to sit and watch all the dolphins and whales, we saw bottlenose dolphins and pilot whales which was incredible and we were able to get so close as well.
My boyfriend also got very sea sick and the hosts were very kind looking after him as best they could!!

If you fancy cruising on a comfortable 45-foot sailboat in the magnificent scenery near Los Gigantes while learning about dolphins and other sea creatures then you should book this tour. We saw many dolphins playing next to the boat and also enjoyed a brief snorkeling and swimming session. Sandwiches and drinks are provided. Bring your own towel and swimsuit. They take a maximum of 9 passengers so there is plenty of space for everyone. There were 3 crew members who were exceptionally helpful and cheerful. Book early if you have a limited time in Tenerife. The earliest availability was in 5 days when I made our reservations. Check if your hotel is on their list for a shuttle service for extra convenience.

I looked at a few boat trips before choosing Third Element and all I can say is, GO. The boat is clean and beautiful, David, Jaimie, and Eileen are lovely, knowledgeable, and perfect hosts. Well worth the money and we were also blessed with the weather. We saw dolphins, whales, and sea turtle and were told lots of info about them all. From start to finish, this is a class act and I cannot recommend this family run business highly enough. Third Element is a cut above most of the other boat trips out there, so if you're looking for a 3 hour spin out into the stunning ocean, served drinks and lunch, watch dolphins play alongside your boat, and swim in the clear, blue waters off the cliffs of Los Gigantes, then BOOK this trip today. Pickup from our hotel was bang on time, staff were very friendly and were very good at providing information about the nature etc.
We saw lots of dolphins and some orca whales and the lunch and drinking were also good. It was a slightly chilly morning and a bit cloudy so we agreed to skip the snorkelling/swimming and instead sailed down to Masca and a relaxing trip along the Log Gigantes cliffs.
The family loved seeing the dolphins up close playing with the boat and it's one of those "must do" experiences that will stay in your memory for a long time.
We were extra lucky because our charter only had 7 people so there was loads of space, however even if there were full set of 12 on board there is loads of space... it was funnny watching an "alternative" tour whizzing about with customers squashed into fixed seats along the sides... didn't look anywhere near as enjoyable!
