- florencej26200Great trip but check the weather!!My mum and I did this excursion today. Paolo was our tour guide and Nicholas was our coach driver. We had the most wonderful tour. Paolo gave us a lot of great information about Tenerife, mountain teide national park and the surrounding areas (despite having no voice!). We absolutely loved Incos de los Vinos, they had their San Andrés festival and it was incredible. The one downside was that by the time we got to mascas there was a torrential downpour so we could not see anything!! Obviously this is not the tour companies fault but would seriously recommend checking the weather before booking! Nicholas was incredible and navigating round the windy mascas roads in the storm. Thanks again guys
- Our-cazCC00Beautiful and interestingBooked at hotel through VIP tours. An 8 hour day being driven by a fantastic tour guide. We dove through the area devastated by fires in the summer. Very sad. But the tour took us all the way around Tiede. Showing all the different terrains. From the lush North, through the alien landscape, and the arid south.
- phillipb7261200Amazing trip, highly recommendAmazing day out! I had read good reviews so was really looking forward to this. When we arrived at the harbour a lot of other boat trips had long queues and were rammed full so was hoping that ours wasn't going to be this way. I was pleasantly surprised - there were just 10 of us on our trip and there was so much space for us all to move around and relax. The harbour is very busy and there is a queue to park so if driving id recommend getting there early to find a space. We made our way out to sea and found a beautiful pod of whales - the guide was clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about these creatures which was interesting to learn about. The trip was respectful of the wildlife and turned off the engine and kept a good enough distance for us to see but not disturb the whales in their natural environment We then went on to a small quiet cove for snorkelling (and saw lots of fish!) and had a lovely lunch on the boat. Would highly recommend this trip, made memories to last a lifetime
- Viktorija C00Very good!We really enjoyed our trip. Our guide Laura and driver Victor were very friendly. The tour was informative and full of activities. Highly recommend 👌
- drakean00Excellent Boat TripVery good trip. Saw some whales, one of the highlights of the holiday. Johnny (captain) was very friendly, great with the kids.
- princesstwink5200Great experience saw what we set out to seeThe boat trip was good as there was fewer people it was good to take in the views and the sightings of the dolphins and whales , the guide was different quite eccentric but knowledgeable, he kept it light hearted and fun You were able to swim / snorkel ( optional) The trip was 3 hrs long but went really quickly ,
- Rose O00Great trip, good value with brilliant guideWell organised trip at a great price. Guide was outstanding. Good communication in 2 language's, very knowledgeable with good sense of humour. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
- stuartt49200good experienceThe view at night was amazing. There was a full moon and lots of stars. The telescopes they had set up were brilliant. And the sunset was really special.
- Kim M00First trip to the Canaries, and a great tour to learn it’s history! The tour guide was great and very knowledgeable,. We learned many things on this tour, and were able to get off several times for photos.
- lexusNorthallerton00Beautiful day out and amazing scenery. Well worth a day trip .We took an organised trip to Mt Teide and were not disappointed. Amazing views and lovely fresh air. Great subject for photography.
- Trail79159600Good Tour on the whole, but a couple of things could be betterPicked up first at our hotel by Alicia & Xavier the coach driver, (he is a brilliant mountain and local road driver, she was a good guide 3 languages, English German Spanish to cater for all passengers) First stop Garachico, pleasant but a look at rock pools half were closed, toilet stop at the village square and then a few hundred yards walk back to the coach. Next Masca valley which takes a while. Tiny place lovely views, restaurant, couple of expensive gift shops, kicking your heels basically for 45 minutes. Next Tiede national park, quite a drive but breathtaking. Only got half hour at the coach park centre. No time for cable car, free tourist museum which takes about 20 minutes to whizz round fortunately there was a toilet. Not enough time. Then to a restaurant called Los Camellos for 1 hour, you could have a 3 course meal for 15 euros but we were fine due to the serious food amounts at our hotel. Bought ice creams from the fridge. No where to sit outside, its a coach/transport stop. If you`re not eating not interested. There is a camel ride centre through the forest there but its a half hour experience so no time really just have to stand around and wait to leave. Next to 1000 year old Drago tree. Interesting to see it from about 50 yards away at the local square which is a fair walk to it. Stroll back to the coach through the village. I asked Alicia about the trip to the cliffs at Los Gigantes as it was a Wednesday and an extra feature in this trip. She said that wasn`t the plan they have never done this ever or on a wednesday, so that didn`t happen. Bit disappointing. On the whole it was very good, lovely brilliant sunshine, but not uncommon it rained on the way down through the park to the lower beaches where it was sunshine and 30C. Amazing to see the beauty and micro climates. An honest overview from a satisfied couple.
- Benny082000Great trip!Really great trip; good mixture of sightseeing, swimming, eating, drinking and the whales were amazing!! Fabrizio was a fabulous host, making sure everyone was enjoying themselves, serving drinks and lunch and explaining about the whales and environmental issues. Would highly recommend this size of boat as opposed to the larger boats. There were only 11 people on our trip which was great. My only quibble is with the description on Tripadvisor. The headline points of the trip say it will be "a maximum of 8" and it clearly states under additional information that "this tour/activity will have a maximum of 8 travellers". This is not the case; the maximum number is 15. I think this should be amended as it's misleading.
- Nigel R00WOW...AmazingOrganisation and experience literally out of this world. Knowledgable talk through the night sky and views through the telescopes outstanding and amazing. Food was a bit basic. The free professional photos made sure the memories of the sights are preserved.
- Vacation2446363132400Great day start to finishLovley day start to finish, really nice small crowd, very friendly… drinks flowing all day, we had some chicken salad and a nice swim in the ocean… we saw about 6 whales, was perfect day, we went at 1:15 and home an all For 4:30, was a nice time as we weren’t rushing in the morning and we still had time when we got off the boat to sit by the pool and soak last few hours of sun I would highly recommend :) the driver was really friendly and the host was so funny and informative :)
- pamgP1191GM00Lovely relaxing trip, would definitely recommend especially as we did see a pod of pilot whalesWhat a lovely way to spend 3 hours, a very relaxing trip. The RIB isn't very big which meant it wasn't crowded and everyone got a seat to watch the pilot whales; yes we did see a pod and watched them for quite a while. Drinks were unlimited with a variety of choice, both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Lunch was lovely I had the vegetarian paella but there was also chicken and bread rolls with plenty for everyone and seconds, thirds if requested. Even some left over for the birds. Would definitely recommend, will be booking to go on this trip again.

We were a group of 10 and when we got picked up by the bus (a bit late) we were put way in the back of a full bus and told that we keep those seats for the whole trip. Pretty bad because for x6 people at the back there were no windows for them to enjoy the view. That did not change for the whole trip!
After a few more pickup stops we arrived at the port and were rushed onto the ferry but it did not leave for another 50 minutes. So we arrived late in La Gomera and were told that because of that we could not do the usual stop but would do something else. That something else turned out to be a visit to the least interesting empty food market in San Sebastian and we wasted 20 minutes there. Hearded together like cattle listening to neverending trivia from the guide.
Then once back on the bus we were told that since we were late our lunch would not be at 13:00 but at 13:30.
80-90% the day trip was spent on the bus with no view for more than half of our group :( The stops were either really boring and at very uninteresting places or they were VERY rushed. All the places we would have liked to have spent more free time exploring by ourselves we were rushed back on the bus! Very disapointing.
The luch was not good at all and the service was pretty bad. After the lunch four people in our group felt sick and got very car sick since the roads there after were very winding and the driving was rushed. And it didn't help to be in the back the whole time.
Our guide (an older man) was very talkative and it was amazing that for so many hours on the bus he never stoped talking! He did the most boring trivia in three languages (which he mentioned a lot) and so the whole time he was talking. We were also told to be quiet so other passangers could listen but since it was all the time that meant no talking together on the bus. Very restrictive and awful :( He had a very poor sense of what was interesting to see or hear about.
The whole trip felt like a terrible waste of money and time spent on a hot bus. It was such a shame since we had great weather and visibility and the island is so beautiful.
We do NOT recommend this tour and if we would go again it would be privatly.

The idea of visiting the island was good however very poorly organised and terrible meal. Ushered onto to tiny bus had to duck to look out windows no room Booked English speaking guide who couldn’t really speak English. Never knew what was going on. Just stopped every now and then. Picked up early and waited outside port for something for an hour. But never knew why. Took our passports and got them back halfway into trip. Stopped at 2 places but restricted I time. Food was appalling rice and a chicken drumstick. Water soup tasted of nothing. Tub of ice cream. I would recommend hiring car and doing it yourself. Paid 80 euros per person which it wasn’t worth so if you do book then

Many thanks for your review. Yes there is a wait for the ferry. Like traveling by plane you have to be there early for check in.
The food is typical canarian and yes living here with a Canarian family the soup is very bland. However is is to keep you going as it is a long day out.
It is a coach trip and a lot of travelling is involved to reach places of interest. We take thousands of people every year to La Gomera and only a few people do not enjoy it. It is not for every one.
We are sorry you did not enjoy the day but we hope you do enjoy the rest of your stay in Tenerife.
Many thanks again.

The description does not include Garajonay National Park (the reason I wanted to go to La Gomera. The trip included the wonderful forests atop the island, and the views were spectacular. Highly recommend even if they focus on the villages in the description.

My husband and I came downstairs at our hotel. The operator said he was here at 7:20, and I’m still sitting in the lobby. If he or she came, they certainly did not stop for a moment because every other company that has picked us up made it known that they were here for us and greeted us to make sure we were the right people to pick up. I want my money back. We are leaving to go back home and this was our only day to do this. You owe me $130. I’m pissed!!!

A nice trip made easy: ferry tickets, lunch, tour places etc. chosen for us, so very easy, giving a brief glance of the island. Maybe coming lated for a longer visit now that we know what kind of things there are, and what could be done with proper time.

We booked this trip with a tour company, which included an 8.20am coach pick up to go five minutes down the road to the port for the ferry. Loaded onto the ferry which didn’t leave for over an hour. The ferry was quick, we saw some dolphins which was lovely, arrived at La Gomera and ushered onto another coach - and then spent the vast majority of the day on the bus!
A few photo opportunity stops before a lunch stop - the lunch wasn’t nice, we went to the bar instead.
This was a whole day trip, but we expected a bit more time to explore at certain stops. But you never know how these things will go until you’re on them.
I would t recommend this trip to anyone, but La Gomera is worth a trip if you did it yourself.

Never been to La Gomera before so went there on a guided day trip last week while on holiday in Tenerife. This is a good way to get a taste of what the island is like. At €60 each it included hotel pick up, ferry crossing and tour of the island including lunch and a visit to Garajonay national park with a very knowledgeable multi-lingual guide.
It was an early start (7.20 pick up) and the ferry trip was about an hour. Had breakfast on the ferry and the prices were very reasonable. The 'voyage' took about an hour and we were quickly on our way. La Gomera is a little unusual in that it has no coastal road and you have to zigzag up to the top from the valley of San Sebastian to the adjoining valleys and zig zag down to wherever. In our case we visited Hermigua then upto Valle Abajo for lunch via Agulo.
After lunch we had a drive through the national park with some time at the visitor centre there. We returned to San Sebastian via Alajero and spent 90 minutes in the capital before departing on the last ferry of the day, returning to our drop off point at 6.30pm.
We really enjoyed the day and on the basis of what we saw will definitely be returning next year for a longer visit. The island seems to be an attraction for 'alternative lifestyles' possibly owing to its quiet and remote nature. Seems the ideal location for a quiet and unhurried vacation. Glad we went there as we had seen it shrouded with cloud from Tenerife but the island was clear when we got there with no cloud at all but obviously gets more rain than Tenerife because of its lush green nature.

La Gomera is a wonderful place and we would have really enjoyed it had we not had Jose Angel as a tour guide - the guy wants to be a one man show and totally gets on your nerves as he NEVER shuts up! Even when he's not talking he plays loud music and sings karaoke to it trying to get everyone to join in instead of leaving you to enjoy the beauty of the island. He would be great as a guide for a bunch of 8 year olds. He barked orders as if you were in a concentration camp then rambled on hugging trees etc. Can't tell you how much he spoiled what is a lovely place to visit. We learned nothing about the demographics, politics, history etc of the island and would have benefited from a proper professional guide. If you book a tour to La Gomera which I highly recommend you do then check who the tour guide is unless you enjoy watching a one man show rather than a tour.

You must ensure Jose Angel is your guide, one of the funniest characters you’re ever likely to meet and such a bonus to have when visiting a place of such breathtaking beauty! Highlight of our trip - full day tour with a guide in Jose Angel who delivers so much passion and insight to La Gomera yet has a natural wit that could easily hold itself on stand up he is that good! Do La Gomera - but be sure to check Jose Angel is taking your tour first! Great day, great fun, great value, great place!

Hello! We did this tour in december, there were pick up stations in the north and in the south of Tenerife. Just need to book with north pick up and let them know where is your hotel and they will let you know the closest pick up station.
Hope that my answer can help you, enjoy your trip!
Where would you be picked up if you are not staying in a hotel? We are staying in Adeje publico, near El Galeon shopping centre. Kind regards Margot

Buenas tardes Roseline B:
