About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- dorissQ3043AO0 contributionsdefinitely worth itAn excellent way to get to know the north of the island. We were able to visit different climatic zones of the island in a matter of hours, from the interesting villages around small volcanoes like Aruca (with its fascinating neo-gothic cathedral), to banana, coffee, grape and citrus plantations in the Berrazales valley. We tasted different cheeses accompanied by a glass of wine of our choice (7.50 eur p.p extra), and a delicious coffee and cake, all locally produced. And the town of Agaete with its fascinating scenery of cliffs and crystal clear waters. Completely recommended! especially thanks to the magnificent driver and Fran our fantastic guide, who was always full of knowledge on every subject and his humor kept us smiling.Written October 26, 2024
- L6932JDjennye0 contributionsGreat introduction to the north of Gran CanariaSkilled driver and friendly tour guide. Lots of toilet stops factored in. Good to see areas in the north of the island briefly - Agaete, Figras, Aruca. Tasted 4 local cheese accompanied by a small glass of wine if your choice (red or white) -extra €7.50 per person. Delicious! Went to quickly look at a banana plantation, and visited an area where they grow oranges, coffee beans and some grapes. Tasted coffee and homemade cake there. Great for a brief intro to the north. Would recommend it!Written October 18, 2024
- 239shalinic0 contributionsExploring rustic villages with a wonderful guide and vibeSlow and steady , taking in the history and vibes of the village , Maria was a great tour guide who explained a lot in detail and was very helpfulWritten August 31, 2024
- Clive8880 contributionsNice but could be more informativeA very good tour to old towns in central GC as well as the mountains and rocks. The guide didnt describe the sights sufficiently and just stopped the coach and said meet back at a set time. It could have been more informative.Written July 18, 2024

- Lesley W0 contributionsRecommendedWe enjoyed the trip very much. It took us to places on the island we hadn't been to before. The whole thing was very professionally run ...guide and driver were both excellent.Written February 29, 2024
- giuliasG5546PV0 contributionsIncredible day out to the mountainsMost amazing day out exploring the the mountains that we could have wished for. We are the kind of people who like exploring places on our own but having a tour guide on this trip was the way to go. Our tour guide Fran ensured this trip would be enjoyable for everyone and maintained entertainment throughout the bus journeys with his extensive knowledge and passion for the island. By the end we felt that we truly had explored the entire central island, and saw an incredible variety of locations in which the pictures do not quite do justice for how beautiful they are. Between each location the drive was split up well so that no intervals ever felt too long. Our driver, Barbara, was very professional while driving on the twisted roads. We had high expectations for this day out to the mountains, a central reason for us choosing this island, and these expectations were definitely surpassed.Written February 3, 2024
- Adventurer8218480 contributionsDoes what it says on the tin!Excellent Day. We liked that it was a small group of around 20. Excellent level of English speaking by Franco & very good driving by Barbara. Informative and as per description. Would definitely book another tour with this group - compared with other trips, great value for money too.Written December 24, 2023
- tuukkaj20150 contributionsGreat tourGreat driver and great guide for the tour. We received lot of nice information about local products, culture and nature.Written December 24, 2023
- Enthusiastic300 contributionsTour worth doingThis tour is different from the rest of the tours and is worth doing. Firgas and Arucas are quaint little towns and very beautiful. The banana plantation is a unique experience. We didn't do the optional cheese/wine tasting, so cannot comment on that experience. The coffee tasting is included and is a nice experience. The orchard in which this experience takes place is beautiful. We enjoyed taking pics in the fruit trees. The peaks of Agaete are impressive and so is the natural swimming pool on the beach.Written December 17, 2023
- Enthusiastic300 contributionsGood tour with seleneDriver Barbara and guide Selene were an excellent combination. A lot many points were covered at good pace. Selene was a fountain of knowledge. She took good care of us and answered all our questions. This trip is value for money.Written December 14, 2023
- Kasper K0 contributionsVolcano craters and interesting plants, and cute little towns.Driver is skilled and drives safely, I'd be dead 5 times over trying to navigate these twisting steep mountain roads, and the host is very pleasant knowledgeable and helpful, a nice calm trip around the mountains, with stunning views and great photo opportunities Heartily recommendedWritten September 5, 2023
- tonyfv0 contributionsGood, but a couple of disappoinmentsBananas, quaint villages, sweeping views, good guide. Improve: 1) clean the inside of the bus windows before picking up guests. 2) have the guide wear a cap or bright shirt so they are easy to find while wandering in towns. 3) Let guests know in advance if one of the locations on the itinerary is cancelled - in my case I really wanted to see Agaete and the west coast, but it was not possible because the town was having its big annual feast - common knowledge. I would have rescheduled to the next week.Written August 6, 2023
- Alicelmao0 contributionsSelene was great!!We had a great time. Our guide Selene was wonderful, so knowledgeable and super friendly. Due to bad weather we couldn’t get to the top of the mountain, but we looked at some of the cave homes and 2 museums, and had a wonderful time, leant so much about the native people that we otherwise wouldn’t have known, would 100% recommendWritten June 26, 2023
- 817marcelinaw0 contributionsGreat value for money, breathtaking views, unforgettable experienceMe and my boyfriend absolutely loved the trip! It was really convenient to travel to all these iconic landmarks by bus with AC. The tour guide spoke good English, was very knowledgeable and super friendly too. We had lots of free time at our stops to explore the places on our own. The selection of natural viewpoints and scenic small towns on the way is well thought out and made us appreciate the beauty of the island even more. It’s totally worth it to go on this trip – I mean, just look at the pics I took :)Written June 16, 2023

This is the not the best tour we went on during our visit but was still a very enjoyable day. The highlights included the tour inside the cave house, a coffee stop in the charming village of Aguimes and the photo opportunity at the top of Puerto de Mogan and the sand dunes of Maspalomas.

Bruno arrived bang on time in a very clean, modern minibus. He chatted along the route giving us information about the island and people of Gran Canaria. The trip showed us different aspects of the island including villages, mountains and beach. I would recommend this trip and the company.

Pick up and drop off great.
Tour itself was good in parts - the houses in the rocks were very interesting, the village, in the hills, was worth a visit.
10 minutes in Mogan would have been sufficient - an artificial town/harbour where everything was overpriced, and no time, within out time there, to have a meal.
The sand dunes at Maspalomas were worth a visit. However, the wind was very strong and it made life very uncomfortable. Very poor availability of somewhere to get refreshments

The tour does not cover much. There are basically 3 attractions- Barranco de Guayadeque, Puerto de Mogan and the dunes of Maspalomas. The only place worth visiting is Barranco de Guayadeque, which is a beautiful valley with cave houses and great views. There is a short walk at this stop in which you visit the cave restaurant, cave house and the view points.
The next stop is Puerto de Mogan which is basically a small commercial place with souvenir shops and very highly priced restaurants. This was a particularly long lunch stop ( 1 hour 40 min) and all restaurants had items that were triple the price to those in Las Palmas. The only pleasing thing is the appearance of variety coloured bougainvillea in between the white stops. You can swim in the beach if you wish, but the beach is no different than the others on the island.
Then there is the optional boat ride from Puerto de Mogan to Puerto Rico. It costs 7.5 Euros and takes you along the coast. The views are not worth paying the price for the boat trip.
Puerto Rico is not really a stop. You are just picked up from the boat to head over to Maspalomas. Maspalomas is a 25 min stop. You get time to walk on the dunes. Yes, the dunes are an unusual site and if you haven't been on a desert, it is an experience which you can have. However, the stop is very short and not enough for you to walk to the beach and come back.
So, in my opinion the tour does not offer much, especially compared to the tour of peaks or another of the north of the island by the same company. Cave houses in this tour are worth visiting but they are elsewhere on the island also and hence not a special feature of this tour alone.
Barbara is an excellent driver. Felt safe in her hands on the twisting roads of the valley. The tour guide Fran did not appear helpful or willing to answer questions. At times he appeared frankly irritated when guests were asking questions. He mentioned about the optional boat trip but gave no description of how and why it was worth doing. When I asked him about the same, he snapped and said he had told about it 3 times in the bus, which in our opinion he hadn't. After a few hours he must have reflected on his reaction and apologised to me. I also saw him scolding an elderly gent in Spanish because he was a few minutes late. The guides on other tours carried maps, photos etc which they distributed to the guests. I feel Fran could carry such material to make the tour interesting and to involve the guests better, especially since there is not much to do on the tour anyway.

I am sorry to hear from you that this tour did not
meet your expectations.
This Thursday tour normally perfectly covers the 3 great treasures of the south of the island, which stand out for their nature, tourism, beaches, shopping, and sun....one of the sunniest places in Spain, which is much appreciated in winter.
It is true that customers delays annoy rest of other customer who have to wait sitting on the bus coach, for 10 minutes , that makes anyone angry, believe, you were one of them probably.
Thanks for your contribution about photos or documents to show people during the tour.
Kind regards
Bruno Knudsen

I went in vacation with my husband and I found this fantastic tour with Selena. I’m from Canary Island but with this tour I learned more than I expected. I ‘m so happy I did with Selena and his friend Salvador who drives really good. They are my friends for my next vacation showing my islands treasures to my husband who is from New York. I highly recommended.Lourdes and Joseph Victorero, see you next trip.

We were picked up promptly from the hotel and set off to view the ancient cave dwellings. We even had a chance to go into one of the caves that was still being lived in. We bought some honey from a tiny shop in a cave.
Throughout the trip, our tour guide gave detailed info and stories about the area, in english and Spanish.
Then off to Puerto de Morgan for an hour and a bit and then to maspalomas. We had time for a swim here too.
We were staying in Las Palmas and it was great to have a day trip to the south.
All in all a great tour

TripGranCanaria is a smaller company and does certain tours on certain days. I had a little trouble booking my larger group on their website, but they helped me work through it. We were in port from our cruise on a Monday, so the tour was the Southern Treasures route. Frank was an excellent friendly and knowledgeable guide! We started with a trip to the cave village of Barranco de Guayadeque. This was a very unique and interesting stop. We saw a man demonstrate the traditional way to get around the village with a wooden pole and also got to enter one of the cave houses, because the owners were home and let us take a quick peek. Next, we stopped in the charming town square of Agüimes. This was not listed on the itinerary... I think it depends on how long you are in port. There was a pretty church and lovely side streets and a shop, if you needed to grab some souvenirs. Our next stop was Puerto de Mogán, a pretty, busy beach town with lots of shops and restaurants. Our group chose to have lunch here and then didn't have time to do anything else, but no worries - we needed lunch! :) We ate at a restaurant just behind the beach with a nice view. Our last stop was Maspalomas, where there was a beach with sand dunes and a town with lots of ice cream, shops and a lighthouse with a museum. I didn't make it into the museum, but several in our group enjoyed it while I walked along the sand dunes and took some photos. My kids didn't really have time to play in the ocean, but we could have had a quick dip if we'd gone directly there when we got off the bus. My group of 10 included kids, ages 8-10, up to my parents and aunt in their early 80s. It was a good tour for the whole group and everyone enjoyed the taste of Gran Canaria.

We had a quick trip to Gran Canaria and picked this tour as it showed us a good cross section for what we wanted to see. It was an excellent tour. The guide was fantastic and explained everything including what was been growing in the fields. Highly recommended as it was a lovely trip.
