- 527atlantah0010/10 experienceMy sister and I did a three day kitesurfing course and all the instructors are lovely and the coaching was really helpful! My sister and I had a great time and would definitely love to come back.
- R580HSjacks00Incredible courseGreat experience! The spot of Corralejo is absolute stunning with great conditions for kiting. The point break's crews are skilled and hansome. They are capable of teach in a simple and safe way. I loved my holiday in Corralejo and the experience with the point break water sports.
- 265r_isem00Group trip, great experienceBooked a surf camp for 14 people that included accommodation. It was very easy and straightforward to book and they were helpful when changes needed to be made. The apartments were beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The surf instructors were fun, professional and helpful. All the equipment was in good condition. No issues at all over the trip which was 7 nights with 5 lessons, some doing beginner and some intermediate, and if there were issues it was clear that we could contact them for help.
- Pioneer17671895099003 day beginners surf lesson that was such a good experience I booked another 2 days!As the title says originally I was booked into a 3 day beginners surf course. Never surfed before and yet on day 1 they got me standing and surfing. Really enjoyed the 3 days so booked another 2. Great experience and friendly and helpful staff. Staying at Buendia Corralejo No Hotel which is an amazing base too.
- 606yvonney00Amazing kitesurfing experience with the dolphin’sIt’s not my thing to write a comment because 99.9% in time I’m too lazy, but the staff and instructors in Point Break are too nice that I feel guilty not to do so. I signed up the five day kitesurfing course and went out for training five day straight, we’re so lucky that first day on the boat we’re surrounded by dolphin babies jumping around us. All the instructors are super nice, patient and professional. One of the best experience I have so far.
- andreagalletti500Surf weekGreat mood, motivation and very capable instructors. It’s been one of the best weeks of my life. Thank you so much!!
- H1302RRjasonk00Great vibe, and chilled surf sessionsGreat instructors. The vibe is super relaxed. Could do with some wax on the boards🤪. Overall a great way to learn to surf and special mention for Ayoub. You are a class instructor my friend. Best of luck🤟🏻
- PeteD322001st Time Kitesurfers.....Great experienceAs wakeboarders and sailers it made complete sense to try kitesurfing whilst on Fuerteventura. We selected Point Break purely by chance as we were staying in the hotel above. We were lucky to get Max as our instructor who happened to be English and from just down the road from where we are from. A brilliant teacher, lots of patients for very enthusiastic students! 2 great days on the beach learning about the kite and all the safety aspects we should know from the outset. Lots of tuition about how to handle the kite and get the most from it whilst keeping good control. Then in was out to the water, a boat ride out to open water between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote where the water was a bit lumpy to say the least. The benefit of no obstructions, boats or rocks to damage equipment or more importantly yourself on. It's was then about putting those skills learnt on the beach into practice. Learning to body drag upwind to help us learn how we would need to be prepared should we loose a board etc. Lots of fun to be had even just being dragged around in the wind and again learning how the kite needs to be controlled. Again Max we brilliant, it was a really good first experience of kitesurfing and has given me and my lad the bug to carry on the journey of becoming better at the sport!!
- Companion2345785981600Great. 100% can recommend and will visit the school again. We take 6 surf lessons for my 3 kids.We enjoyed and had great and safe experience. Francesco was amazing teacher. Kids love it very much
- katiesZ7976PB00Great, fun experienceMuchas gracias for teaching us to windsurf this week. We all loved our experience .... thank you for being such a great, patient instructor Paolo. Katie, Ruth & Mike
- zoe b00Best beginner surf experience+I had the best week learning to surf with Ayoub, who is simply the best instructor! Ayoub knew the best places to go, was patient, very encouraging and knew when to introduce new skills as I progressed. By the end of the week I was able to surf plenty of waves and it was the perfect way to spend a week in Fuerteventura. Highly recommend 😁
- 147olgah00Perfect for windsurfing beginnersPerfect two day wind surf experience for beginners. Pablo was a very good and experienced teacher. Already in the first lesson, I was able to surf including change of direction. He was very positive and motivating. I can recommend this surfschool. Everything was well organised. Nothing to complain 👌
- 9agatar00AmazingAmazing experience, both surfing and kite surfing. Extremely professional instructors and such a lot of fun. Really enjoyed my first kites surfing lessons on the beach with the extremely meticulous @Leonardo then my crazy first attempts in the water with @Stefano. So recommended!!! Agata
- N8093VUmonikam00What a great experience! The team of point break school is fabulous, very helpful, well organized, proficient and professional. The instructors were fun, easy going, attentive and simply good teachers. I felt safe and well looked after all the time with enough space to learn and make mistakes. I started my kite surf journey with the beginners course and will certainly come back for more. Thank you, Monika
- X8811FAricardos00Beware: scamTerrible management. I really don’t know where to start. 1. Administration and management of the lessons was extremely bad. Classes where cancelled last minute due to the lack of wind (not their fault of course) however it was very frustrating that they didn’t re-book the classes for another day. How inefficient! 2. On top of that, please know that 1 instructor every 2 students is a scam. There is only 1 boat for groups of 6 people so don’t be fooled!!!! 3. You do 30 mins of actual kitesurfing because of the large group numbers and whole inefficient set up they have! 4. The refund policy if no wind is a complete lie. Do not trust their word. Highly NOT recommended!!

EN: the coaches were experienced. However there were always very crowded groups, 2 groups of 8,16 people in the sea. That definitely reduced the trainings quality and increased the risk of accidents/ injuries.
Meanwhile we were always in one very crowded beach for 6 training days.
Suggestion would be to reduce the groups to 4 persons- one trainer and try to choose less crowded beaches.
Some schools already doing that.

So if I understand correctly are you complaining that you booked a group course with a maximum of 8 people and that what you did with us was a course with a maximum of 8 people?
Are you aware that a review of only two stars for a school that usually receives five stars can be very detrimental to the hard work of a group of people who passionately teach surfing to beginners every day? and not content that you have left a negative review without any real reason to complain about the service we have offered (which is exactly the service that you have purchased) on this portal you have also made it on Google, maybe you could do it on Facebook too ...
As you wrote our instructors are very experienced , and do you know why? Because we are an official school of the Canary Islands Surf Federation and all our instructors are certified by this prestigious federation. We follow the teaching and safety standards of this prestigious federation and our instructors are trained to conduct lessons with a maximum of 8 people. As you also wrote the price is reasonable and you know why it is so? because it is the price for the service you have contracted., which is a group lesson in a group of up to 8 people!
I agree with you that this year Fuerteventura has seen a lot of tourists arrive and as surfing is becoming more and more popular, the beaches in August were crowded. But there are beaches where we are allowed to teach and beaches where it is not possible to teach. This August you know very well that all the schools were fully booked and a lot of people who had not booked in advance did not get to do a single day of surfing.
I guess since you have done 6 days of surfing in Fuerteventura in your life (the same number of sessions as we do every 3 days) you know secret surf spots where schools are allowed to go and that we don't know and most of all I guess with all your experience you know perfectly well the spots where we should have gone instead not to find all the other schools that, as you say, in crowded the beaches in August.
Your advice to reduce the groups to 4 people is also very useful and you knew very well that we also offer courses for 4 people, for 3 people, for 2 people and even for just one person. Why didn't you reserve a private course?
I imagine that an experienced surfer like yourself with already 6 days of beginners course will now be in the uncrowded beaches of Namibia riding barrels and probably won't even remember the damage you caused with a nonsense review like this to those stupid surfing instructors in Fuerteventura who the week before pushed you to catch some waves because you couldn't paddle.
Try to stay humble and act with the knowledge of the possible consequences of your actions in mind and next time leave a review with more common sense as try to tell us how to do our job better when you have no idea how to do it yourself doesn't really seem fair.
The Point Break Team.

I thought they were better.
I’ve done 2 half day as beginner.
While on the beach the information provided are great and valuable but on the sea I felt alone and avandoned. Also other schools were nearby making the sea spot very crowded and unsafe.
On the first half day, at one point the teacher got grab a coffee and left tge group in the sea alone.
The second half day there were two teachers but they struggled to manage a 7 people group, giving controversial/different info while in the water and making the understanding very confusing.
I don’t think this is how you teach something.
Boards are also quite old and damaged.
I would not recommend.

Hi Alessia,
We are very sorry that you didn't have a good time surfing with Point Break and honestly we are also a bit surprised because the other people who were with you in those same days have instead expressed their satisfaction. The coffee that our instructor Maria drank 15 minutes before the end of the lesson, and when some students were already out of the water because they were exhausted, was offered to her and brought by another student who was very happy with the lesson and wanted to thank the instructor by offering him a hot coffee. The instructor never left the area of your practice but it was the student who went to the bar on the beach where you were having your lesson and brought her the coffee.
As you have rightly pointed out our instructors, who are all certified by the Canarian Surfing Federation, provide very important and detailed information before each lesson in the theory part of the lesson. Obviously after the theory part comes the practice part in the water and here many factors, also of a personal nature, can influence performance and the learning process.
Your lessons were carried out as usual and following the teaching method of the Federación Canaria de Surf, which involves the instructor carrying out a theory part, a part in the water with the students and a part on the beach. Obviously, if the instructor spent all his time in the water with the students, his perspective would only be from the rear, that is, he would see the students from behind, whereas it is essential, in order to correct the students' position and give them indications on how to progress, that the instructor sees them surfing while they are heading towards him. For this reason, an important part of the lesson is conducted with the instructor on the beach being able to see the students from a frontal perspective.
We're sorry if you felt left out, but a normal surfing lesson also involves the students (who all claim to be able to swim) practising in the sea while the instructor watches them from the beach.
We are sorry that when you surfed with us there were other schools nearby but obviously you cannot think that you are the only person who wants to learn surfing in Fuerteventura. Surfing is becoming more and more popular and more and more people are approaching this magnificent sport, which implies that the spots are more crowded than years ago and especially in high season periods like December.
During your second lesson, in addition to your instructor, there was also a "practising instructor". As we are one of the few official and legal schools of the Canary Islands Surfing Federation, we have the obligation and the pleasure to train future instructors. Unlike the other certifications that most of the instructors have, the certification of the Federación Canaria de Surf states that after the course each instructor, in order to have his certification homologated, must carry out a fairly long period of practice within an official school at the end of which he can then start teaching independently. We apologise, therefore, if this second person present at your lesson did not have the experience that all our instructors already have, but we believe that he or she added something to the lesson and certainly did not make it worse.
We are very sorry that you would not recommend our school, but honestly, from the feedback from other students who attended your lesson and were very satisfied (including thanking the instructor and offering her a coffee) and from our instructors, we did not find anything unusual about the lesson.
We are even more surprised that you used old equipment as all our boards, wetsuits and leashes are brand new. The only thing that could have happened is that you were given a damaged board or wetsuit and the instructor didn't notice it, but this means that it certainly wasn't damaged in a way that would compromise its operation.
In any case, we thank you for this report and will inspect the equipment more thoroughly before assigning it to students.

I went out surfing with Galla and it turned out to be the best surfing day ever, thanks to her. I also pursued SUPing with Plinio and it was once again a great afternoon on the water. Both instructors are not only very good at what they are doing but also very pleasant to be around. My personal two thumbs up :)

Our instructor Ivo gave very helpful tips and encouragement. We did a warm-up and then incrementally worked our way up to standing. El Cotillo had quite nice gentle waves for beginners and was sandy bottom.
Definitely the best surf lesson I have ever had :)

What a sensational experience! It was my first time surfing and I loved it. I wanted to go back the next day.
You learn to surf on small waves next to shoreline so it's completely safe. The instructor was with us the whole time in the water.
Just wear your swimwear to the meeting point because there is no place to change.

We booked a holiday through Point Break. We arranged flights and they provided accommodation and 5 days of surf lessons. We were picked up from and taken back to the airport by Fabianne who also acted as photographer and took loads of good photos of our attempts at surfing. The accommodation was nice. Very clean. Plenty of space. No air con or fan so it would have been a bit hot in summer. The apartment was in Oasis Papagaya resort which had lovely swimming pools. The canteen there was pricey and not great so we catered ourselves or ate out. Surfing was good. We were picked up from the resort and driven to 3 beaches in our 5 days including El Cotillo on the west side of the island. Our instructor Andrea was really good and a nice guy. Our only gripe was that we were promised a trip to a reef break one of the days but that ended up not happening because some of the group hadn’t surfed at all before. Fuerteventura is good for a week and the weather makes it. Having the focus of surfing was great. There are also plenty of good places to eat.
