- Sightseer504516422910 contributionsBest food tour ever!We had great fun going for pintxos in San Sebastian with Basque Bites! The food and wines were fantastic, and the host was amazing! We would not have been able to do this on our own! Highly recommended!Written January 31, 2025
- michaelfL4378XS0 contributionsUnforgettable Food Tour with Basque Bites! Our tour with Basque Bites was a top 3 memory of our trip to Spain and definitely the highlight of San Sebastian. Gregory has a great vibe to him and is super knowledgeable about the history of the Basque region and (of course) the food. Not only did we have some great food on the tour but Gregory was able to assist in providing recommendations for the rest of our meals. All of which were amazing. Also, the tour is great for families and Gregory goes out of his way to accommodate the children as we were traveling with our 6-year old and there was another similar-aged child on the tour with us. Highly recommend Gregory for a food tour in San Sebastian!Written September 9, 2024
- sealspeak0 contributionsGreat food, great funWe take food tours everywhere we go, but none has been better than this one. Geoffrey expertly guided us through the delicious food and wine of the Basque region, while providing an interesting and informative narrative of the area’s history and culture. We absolutely loved our time with Gregory, and this tour made our trip to San Sebastián an absolute highlight.Written August 28, 2024
- sealspeak0 contributionsDeliciously interesting and funWe do food tours in every country we visit, and this experience was hands down the best of all. Gregory took us on a journey of the food and wine of the Basque country, along with an interesting and informative narrative of the area’s history and current situation. He was so much fun to be around, and we would make sure to tell anyone travelling to San Sebastián to seek out his tours.Written August 28, 2024
- Pablo G0 contributionsTop pintxos tourTLDR at the bottom- This was our second food tour in San Sebastián when we were there. The first one focused on the city center rather than the old town with a different host. Me and my girlfriend were excited that this tour specifically focused on the old town. We met Gregory at the meeting point and he was instantly awesome and very charismatic. He gave us an awesome rundown of some history of San Sebastián and pointed out things that we wouldn’t have noticed or picked up on our own about the city such as bullet holes in certain buildings. After some brief walking and history we hit our first pintxo bar and Gregory asked about allergies and any food aversions. He told us the history of the bar and what we were eating. We let Gregory guide us the whole time on food and drinks (we would suggest this because it was awesome). He paired wines for us and recommended other drinks if we didn’t feel like wine. The best part about this tour compared to others is each one is unique. Gregory knows the best places to hit and what to order. The last thing he wants to do is have you wait in line. He knows the chefs at these bars and they all know him. The best part is just letting Gregory guide you and listen to his suggestions because he knows his stuff. We had an absolutely wonderful day with him and would 100% do this tour again. TLDR- Gregory is an amazing host and if you are only going to do one food tour in San Sebastián then I would suggest this one. Me and my girlfriend had a great time and ate and drank amazing food and drinks.Written August 7, 2024
- mikemcdeasy0 contributionsBest private lunch tour in San SebastiánDid a private lunch tour in San Sebastián with Basque Bites. My wife, me and our two college age daughters. It was simply amazing. Gregory was knowledgeable not just about the lunch and drink spots, but about Basque culture and history as well. We did the tour our first day in town, which is what I like to do in a new town to get oriented. In addition to the afternoon lunch tour, Gregory gave us his special list of places to see, other eating and drinking spots, and he stayed in touch throughout our stay for questions and recommendations. Highly recommend a tour with these guys.Written April 10, 2024
- Kay G0 contributionsWhat a great way to spend a day in the amazing city!We were recommended by our pintxo guide in San Bilbao, and what a great recommendation it was! We spent a fab day with Gregory and loved every minute of it. So knowledgeable, enthusiastic and his love of San Sebastián, food and wine as well as its people shone through. We learnt so much, and he coped admirably well with me being ‘non-fishy’! Thoroughly recommended, small group sizes, we were a two and it worked really well in the small busy bars. Not a cheap day out, but if you want a personalised experience as a couple or small group it is worth the spend, we will always have great memories of our time in this fab city. Thank you so much Gregory. Kay & MIkeWritten September 13, 2023

- P1483JLrons0 contributionsBecome a Basque for a day with GregoryIncredibly entertaining and educational day spent with Gregory, who has more knowledge of food, wine, history, and life in Basque country than anyone else you are likely to meet. My wife and I have done walking/food/wine tours all over the world, and Gregory has been one of the best ever. well worth the price of admission!Written March 25, 2023
- nataliewhaleya0 contributionsPerfect tour and guideListen, book Gregory ASAP if you’re planning a trip to San Sebastián! This tour was awesome for the following reasons: - It was intimate, we weren’t elbowing through 15 people to hear Gregory. It was just the 4 of us - He gave us extensive knowledge about the region and culture while walking and pointing out sites - The food he selected was AMAZING, things we likely wouldn’t have found without him - We had fun learning about wine - He was personable, we felt like we’ve known him forever and were enjoying meals with a friend - The locals clearly love him, this obviously means he’s a cool dude - Gregory kept us laughing - His mustache rocked Thank you, G! - Angela J0 contributionsPersonal, authentic, knowledgeable, tasty and fun!We spent a very enjoyable afternoon with Greg on his Pintxo lunch tour and below are some highlights to share, with a strong recommendation that if you enjoy food, this is the tour for you! Greg is well established in San Sebastián and this is evident as we walked around and it felt like he knew everyone! The respect and welcome he has from the restaurant owners, butchers, sea food sales people and pintxo bar employees was clear as he conversed in the Basque language, and we felt like we were getting a tour no one else could reliever as a result. We started with a walk around the vegetable market and then the meat and fish markets. Greg shared his knowledge with every step, not only about the food but the Basque way of life and communities. Then we weaved our way through the incredibly pretty streets and Greg chatted around the history of the city and what makes it so special. We visited 3 quite different pintxo bars and learned about the history. Greg was great and getting to know what we liked and didn’t, ordering a wide range of dishes with a mix to challenge. I am proud to say I tried the Pigs Ear! See pictures…. Overall, if you enjoy food and a tailored and enthusiastic tour and guide - this is the tour for you!Written July 8, 2022
- Leslie A0 contributionsA Perfect Day!I could tell Gregory was going to be great from the start. After our initial email exchange, I knew he was both knowledgeable and charming! My husband and I spent a wonderful day with him touring the city, walking through the market and tasting pintxos. He kept us entertained while giving us a great history lesson, including that of the Basque people. We were so impressed with his ability to speak their language. He exceeded our expectations!Written June 14, 2022
- Chovick0 contributionsFood and culture.Gregory was informative and a delightful fellow. So smart. We had a great breadth of Pintxos culture and food and the amazing Basque people.Written May 16, 2022
- Colin R0 contributionsSuperb Culinary TourOur evening culinary extravaganza with Greg in San Sebastian was hands down one of the highlights of our recent trip to Spain, and easily the best and most entertaining food tour we’ve ever participated in (and there have been some great ones - Japan, Canada, France, Italy). We highly recommend planning an evening with Greg if you are visiting San Sebastián. And make sure he not only regales you with stories of Spain, but also of his many years living and dining in Asia.Written May 14, 2022
- C4000PGmarial0 contributionsExcellent Time with Gregory in San Sebastián!We did the Pintxo Evening tour with Gregory in San Sebastián in March and could not say enough about his tour. Gregory's enthusiasm and knowledge of the food scene in San Sebastián was excellent. As a chef he guided us through some of the best pintxo's in this very popular foodie town. All the information he shared about the cuisine made us really appreciate every morsel we were tasting. His personality is geared for hosting tours like this. A pintxo tour in San Sebastián is a MUST and doing it with Gregory will make it extraordinary!Written April 30, 2022
