Our Kai gave us an excellent walki g Tour of San Sebastian. Even gave us some top recommendatio s for Pintxos. Very pleased.

The tour was fantastic thanks to Sandra our guide. She was knowledgeable and funny and made the tour all the more enjoyable. There were 8 people including ourselves and they were all such good fun. We visited 5 bars in the old town, all full of atmosphere, excellent pintxos and wine that were specialities of each bar. The next day Sandra sent us all a list of the bars we visited along with the pintxos and wine consumed and included a list of other bars to visit. This was a great addition as we used it for further visits to the old town. In our opinion a Basque Tour is a must if visiting San Sebastián.

Angel was knowledgeable and friendly. The trip (a bit of a splurge for us) really delivered and allowed us to see some bits of the Basque Country we would have missed otherwise in a really comfortable and interesting way.

Amazing… one of the best food tours I’ve ever done. It was our first night in San Sebastián we had just arrived from NY. Our guide Veronica was incredible!!! She went beyond introducing us to the tastes and flavors of pinxtos. She explained the history, the culture of the region. We learned so much and Veronica is so warm and engaging. She had us sample the most incredible food. It was so worthwhile, so glad we did this.

We did the ZUMAIA, GETARIA & TXAKOLI WINERY TASTING. We had a wonderful private tour with Mai. She taught us so much about Basque Culture and worked hard to accommodate the varied needs and preferences of our family! We were 5 people, one senior, two adults and two kids (11 and 13), she made sure we were all happy (including swimming and ice cream for the kids!). A fun and interesting day. Eskerrik asko Mai!

Very friendly and truly knowledgeable. Such a private walking tour is really the only way to learn about an historic city at your own pace. The Pintxo Bar experience is truly unique and thanks to the expert advice received we repeated that for lunch several times in following days.

Our local guide who spoke perfect English met us at our hotel and walked us to the old city. At each of our stops we were served a special Spanish wine, we discussed the Pintxos culture and tasted "off the menu" bites that were EXCEPTIONAL- Michelin worthy. There is no way to access what we ate and drank (and she had tables for us reserved) on our own. We had the best time.

This was our second tour with Basque tours. Seven years ago we went to Bilbao with them. When we were coming back to San Sebastián this year we arranged a Basque countryside tour with Mai. We had a lovely day and a delicious lunch. You can’t go wrong spending a day or two with them!

Having never dealt with Basque Tours, I was nervous about sending so much money upfront. Needn't have worried though! The tours were exactly what John and Jani, owners, of their company had advertised. Guides were thorough, professional and excursions were terrific. In fact, they were the highlight of our trip. First, in beautiful San Sebastian, our group of four, booked an historical overview of this lovely city, along with a wine, and yummy pintxos--a famous Basque culinary treat. Next we opted for the "quaint French village" and countryside excursion. Lastly, there was a rollercoaster ride through the mountains and raging seaside near the Guggenheim City of Bilbao. Gorgeous. This was the 3rd time I used Basque Tours and again BT made our trip unforgetable. Stayed 3 nights with my 2 son-in-laws and had a great activity and food experience. Jon and his guides speak excellent English and moreover they are more than experienced! St James hike, bicycle tour, pintxos, gastronomic club we enjoyed all. Tks a lot BT and we know whom to contact when coming back to San Sebastian Dico, Elmer & Frits

After spending a few days in San Sebastián, we scheduled a transfer tour to our next destination, Biarritz. We are so glad that we did! Our tour guide, Luis, could not have provided a better experience! On the way to Biarritz, we stopped in Hondarribia, a quaint fishing village and received a tour of the town including the church and the Bay Area. Luis was an informative guide, exceptionally knowledgeable about the towns we visited & Basque culture and very accommodating. Next we travelled to Saint Jean de Luz and received another walking tour of this beautiful seaside town. Lastly, we arrived in Biarritz, were driven to and walked to all the highlights and enjoyed a wonderful relaxed lunch at an outdoor cafe. Of the three tours that we did, this was our favorite and best value. Thanks to Basque Tours and our guide in particular for a memorable and enjoyable day.

We traveled from San Sebastián with Jon to two small towns in the Pyrenees mountains where grandparents were from. Jon was able to locate Grandpa’s home off main roads by asking locals for direction and by identifying the named home. When we arrived unannounced Jon spoke to the family in Basque language and they invited us in the home for coffee. Jon did a great job interpreting for us and we found out we had a common great grandfather. Without Jon’s great connections with the locals and family members the unique one of a kind family connection would not have been made. We also visited Grandmothers home town and had a great trip along the way including stopping at the beginning of the St James pilgrimage.

Such a fun night! We went with Jani and purchased all sorts of foods at the market for making a delicious dinner in a private eating club. Truthfully, the house chef did all the cooking while we observed and enjoyed the various appetizers we had picked up- cheese, amazingly delicious olives, wine etc. the whole evening was wonderful! and Jani was a great guide and company for our dinner. What a treat. Would do it again no doubt about it!

For a group of friends Basque Tours arranged an evening at a gastronomic club in San Sebastián followed the next day for a tour to Getaria and lunch at one of the local wineries. The service was excellent and the Basque Tours team was unfailingly helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and flexible. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

We had a great time aboard the tabby Lucretia. Guillermo, our guide was very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. He picked us up dead on time and provided an excellent lunch with wine to wash the food down with! Eduardo, the owner and his crew Nico, weee friendly, chatty and helpful! A great trip. Thank you
