The tour was fantastic thanks to Sandra our guide. She was knowledgeable and funny and made the tour all the more enjoyable. There were 8 people including ourselves and they were all such good fun. We visited 5 bars in the old town, all full of atmosphere, excellent pintxos and wine that were specialities of each bar. The next day Sandra sent us all a list of the bars we visited along with the pintxos and wine consumed and included a list of other bars to visit. This was a great addition as we used it for further visits to the old town. In our opinion a Basque Tour is a must if visiting San Sebastián.

Angel was knowledgeable and friendly. The trip (a bit of a splurge for us) really delivered and allowed us to see some bits of the Basque Country we would have missed otherwise in a really comfortable and interesting way.

We did the ZUMAIA, GETARIA & TXAKOLI WINERY TASTING. We had a wonderful private tour with Mai. She taught us so much about Basque Culture and worked hard to accommodate the varied needs and preferences of our family! We were 5 people, one senior, two adults and two kids (11 and 13), she made sure we were all happy (including swimming and ice cream for the kids!). A fun and interesting day. Eskerrik asko Mai!

This was our second tour with Basque tours. Seven years ago we went to Bilbao with them. When we were coming back to San Sebastián this year we arranged a Basque countryside tour with Mai. We had a lovely day and a delicious lunch. You can’t go wrong spending a day or two with them!

This was the 3rd time I used Basque Tours and again BT made our trip unforgetable. Stayed 3 nights with my 2 son-in-laws and had a great activity and food experience. Jon and his guides speak excellent English and moreover they are more than experienced! St James hike, bicycle tour, pintxos, gastronomic club we enjoyed all. After spending a few days in San Sebastián, we scheduled a transfer tour to our next destination, Biarritz. We are so glad that we did! Our tour guide, Luis, could not have provided a better experience! On the way to Biarritz, we stopped in Hondarribia, a quaint fishing village and received a tour of the town including the church and the Bay Area. Luis was an informative guide, exceptionally knowledgeable about the towns we visited & Basque culture and very accommodating. Next we travelled to Saint Jean de Luz and received another walking tour of this beautiful seaside town. Lastly, we arrived in Biarritz, were driven to and walked to all the highlights and enjoyed a wonderful relaxed lunch at an outdoor cafe. Of the three tours that we did, this was our favorite and best value. Thanks to Basque Tours and our guide in particular for a memorable and enjoyable day.

We traveled from San Sebastián with Jon to two small towns in the Pyrenees mountains where grandparents were from. Jon was able to locate Grandpa’s home off main roads by asking locals for direction and by identifying the named home. When we arrived unannounced Jon spoke to the family in Basque language and they invited us in the home for coffee. Jon did a great job interpreting for us and we found out we had a common great grandfather. Without Jon’s great connections with the locals and family members the unique one of a kind family connection would not have been made. We also visited Grandmothers home town and had a great trip along the way including stopping at the beginning of the St James pilgrimage.

Such a fun night! We went with Jani and purchased all sorts of foods at the market for making a delicious dinner in a private eating club. Truthfully, the house chef did all the cooking while we observed and enjoyed the various appetizers we had picked up- cheese, amazingly delicious olives, wine etc. the whole evening was wonderful! and Jani was a great guide and company for our dinner. What a treat. Would do it again no doubt about it!

For a group of friends Basque Tours arranged an evening at a gastronomic club in San Sebastián followed the next day for a tour to Getaria and lunch at one of the local wineries. The service was excellent and the Basque Tours team was unfailingly helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and flexible. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

We had a great time aboard the tabby Lucretia. Guillermo, our guide was very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. He picked us up dead on time and provided an excellent lunch with wine to wash the food down with! Eduardo, the owner and his crew Nico, weee friendly, chatty and helpful! A great trip. Thank you

First we can’t express enough our appreciation for Basque Tours. Jon and Jani have been incredible partners. We were scheduled for two tours in May of last year and due to family circumstances we needed to cancel close to the deadline. Jon and Jani didn’t hesitate to reimburse our deposit right away. They immediately earned our trust. So when it came time for us reschedule our trip to San Sebastián we did not hesitate to contact Jon and Jani. They were immediately on top of things to get us booked and the tours did not disappoint. Angel was our guide for the Rioja wine tour. Picking us up from our hotel the ride to the wine country flew by as Angel helped us understand the history of the region as well as the different industry sectors that help drive the economy. We visited three wineries and had a great lunch in Laguardia! Angel’s tour of the city was perfect. We explored different parts of the castle and ended up seeing an impromptu group of students dancing and singing songs of their heritage. Just a fantastic experience! Eskerrik asko Angel!

This was an excellent, excellent, tour with pickup at our hotel in San Sebastian, private tastings at 3 wineries in Haro and Laguardia, and a delicious lunch at a small restaurant. Our guide, Juan, spoke perfect English and knew the Rioja wine region inside and out. We've take a lot of wine tours all over the world, and this was as good or better than any of them. Just perfect. We give it (and Juan) the highest possible recomendation.

We had a fabulous experience using Basque tours for our wine tour in the Rioja region. The communication with the team from day one was great, and they answered all my questions. The tour itself was the BEST. Our guide, Andy, picked us up at our hotel in San Sebastian and during the hour plus drive educated us about the Basque region and the wineries in Rioja. We learned a lot before we even arrived at our first stop. We visited two spectacular wineries that included tours and full tastings and stopped by a third for a quick tasting. The winery visits were followed by a delicious three course lunch and a stop in LaGuardia to explore the beautiful old city before heading back to our hotel. The day was absolutely perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed all our time with Andy and hope to see him when he comes to NYC.

Our tour was perfect accompanied by your professional and friendly driving guide. The schedule was well organized and adjusted for our various visit of the cities including marketplace without stress at all. We enjoyed a lot with thanks.

The day trip to Lourdes Sanctuary was very smooth from inquiry to days leading to the trip. Jon was very attentive, answered my questions promptly, and had good recommendations. Our assigned tour guide, Angel, was so knowledgeable, engaging and such a sweet man. He took care of us, making sure we’re comfortable and that we make the most of the visit. He noticed right away our interest in local cuisine and made sure we also experienced it during our tour. Straight A for Jon and Angel. Thanks for making our trip truly memorable.
