      Essential experience for food lovers
We expected to learn a lot and have some good food and we were definitely not disappointed! It really was a fantastic day, thank you Patricio and Rhys for looking after us so well. We learned a lot, had a lot of fun and tasted some incredible food and fantastic wine. This was the highlight of our trip and I would highly recommend it to foodies of any level.

Highlight of our trip to Donostia-San Sebastian
We had a wonderful evening - Sandra shared her local knowledge and enthusiasm with us and introduced our group to a range of delicious Pintxos and local wines. There were five of us plus the guide. My husband and I were joined by another couple and a solo traveller, all fun and interesting people who made it a great night out. We definitely tried pintxos we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. It’s not a cheap tour but money well spent for a great experience.

Great cooking class with Chef Erik at Mimo cooking school
I took the Spanish cooking class with Chef Erik and had a wonderful time. He is passionate about his craft and was great about explaining the why of every step of the cooking process. We made a wonderful cold tomato soup, some fried squid and anchovies with lemon garlic aioli, and two different kinds of paella. Everything was paired with wine and we finished off with churros and chocolate. I would highly recommend doing one of these cooking classes on your next trip to San Sebastián.

      Excellent pintxo cooking class!
Lara and Erick welcomed us warmly with coffee, tea, and water. The cooking school is contemporary, well laid out, with background dance music. Erick led our international group of six, first to Antonio's cafe where we began with an outstanding traditional pototoe tortilla and the first glass of effervescent txakoli wine. (Don't eat breakfast before the tour as you'll be stuffed.) On to the markets for vegetables and fish, and delicious samples of cheese, olive, olive oils, and jamon. Back at Mimo, Lara gave us a brief introduction to the traditional txakoli, which we enjoyed, while being fitted into white chefs' jackets. Erick clearly explained today's menu of a tempura shrimp, an anchovy/egg/onion, mushroom risotto pintxos, and Basque cheese cake. Erick instructed each of us with specific tasks to prepare each delectable dish, which when completed, we feasted on with more txokoli, culminating with the cheese cake and a glass of Moscatel. Erick, who had a restaurant in New York City, is a very knowledgeable chef, a terrific teacher, who guided us along each step with a very warm and friendly style. We left after five hours, stuffed with marvelous cuisine and basic familiarity with some simple and zesty local dishes. You are in for a treat!

      Enjoyable cooking experience!
Wonderfully enjoyable cooking class in a small group setting. We made a variety of Spanish dishes, with local produce and recipes from Valencia region: bakalau salad, two styles of paella, and a coffee flan. Our food was paired with txakoli and white wine from Rioja. Our very experienced chef instructor, Erik, was patient, knowledgeable, and humorous. He gave us detailed instructions and plenty of hands-on practice to understand the full preparation process for each dish. Best of all, Erik made the cooking experience fun! Thanks Erik and the Mimo team!

      Pintxos Tour with Kai
We had an amazing evening exploring the best pintxos and wine with Kai as our guide. He knew exactly where to take us and introduced us to some of the city’s top spots for pintxos. Kai showed us unique dishes and wines we might have missed on our own. His passion for the local food scene made the experience feel truly special, and every stop had its own charm. I definitely recommend Kai’s tour to anyone visiting San Sebastián!

Fabulous food tour in San Sebastián
This food tour was one of the highlights of our time in Spain, and I highly recommend it. Our guide, Sandra took us to a variety of pintxos bars and introduced us to local specialties, food and wine, that we never would have known to order for ourselves. Afterwards she sent us an email detailing the places she took us, what she ordered (both in Spanish and English), and recommended many other places and specific food and drink…really a detailed guide to do more on own the next day. This was a treasure in and of itself! This tour was worth every penny, a great introduction to San Sebastián. I would do it again in a heart beat!

A thoroughly enjoyable evening thanks to our guide Sandra
My friend and I did this tour on a recent visit to San Sebastián and very much enjoyed it mostly due to the manner and kindness of our guide Sandra. Sandra was knowledgeable and interesting without being overbearing and allowed the evening to flow in such an enjoyable way. She set the tone for the atmosphere in the group, gently moving us along but allowing conversations to happen over food and drinks and giving us great insights about the area, as well as the food! We would highly recommend doing this tour. We enjoyed the introductions to the food and the drinks pairings and came away with a better understanding of the different traditional and contemporary foods.

      Pintxos - Delicious!
We literally dropped our bags at the hotel & headed out to the tour. It was the best way to be introduced to a new town. Our lovely guide, Kai was born locally and had a great knowledge of the area, the history and the food scene. Every stop was a delicious taste of local cuisine. Kai gave us great insight to the town. We returned to a couple of the stops over the time we were there and tried more pintxos. Highly recommended

      Fun Paella Cooking Class
A very authentic, educational paella cooking class which was also very fun. I had no idea how easy it could be to cook paella with only two main items (eg shrimp and squid or chicken and green beans). And sharing comida afterwards was a true pleasure. Highly recommend!

"Market Tour and Fish Cooking Class" - Cooking Adventure Beyond Expectation
This was an extraordinary adventure! Erick is a wonderful person. He takes you through the history of basque cooking as well as through his own multiply experience with a relaxed and at the same time motivating manner. The course is matching perfectly good for people who would describe themselfes as 'hobby-chefs', but also for those who are planning their first steps into 'serious cooking';)) The place, the athmosphere, the equipment....everything excellent and definitly beyond my expectation. I would love doing the other corses as well and will come back for sure. Many thanks to Erick and the whole team again! Keep on cooking:)! Sabine - Berlin

Hats off to Eric and the Mimo team!
My wife and I had a very nice seasonal market, cooking and dining experience with Eric and the small Mimo team. Our class/group ended up being a bit larger than we expected so we don’t know what it would have been like if they kept it to 8-10 people, but their kitchen and dining areas were clean and well organized, and comfortably accommodated everyone well. The staff still did a good job keeping everyone engaged, and they did a great job accommodating dietary restrictions for one of the people in the group. Well done Mimo team - we highly recommended.

      Tasty and Fun
Sandra was a delightful guide and did a wonderful job of introducing us to the culture of Pintxos. She took us on a wonderful tour of the old Town Pinxtos Bars. She ensured that everyone in our small, intimate group had choices that fit with their taste buds and was careful to make sure we got to enjoy the specialty of each location. She even emailed us additional recommendations of additional places to try while we were in San Sebastian. Everything was just delicious! It was a special evening.

This was our 2nd class at Mimo. We learned cooking in an intimate environment where we were able to personally interact with our talented chef Mikel. The atmosphere he created was very positive, highly engaging and welcoming. There was certainly a lot of wine and great food, but what I loved most was that there was a lot of laughter. It was a unique and truly unforgettable experience. The opportunity to meet and interact with so many food-lovers from around the world was just a delight.
What's more, throughout the class we learned some real Michelin tips and tricks which we are definitely taking home with us!.
Eskerrik asko, Mikel and Mimo Bite The Experience! We will be back!

As avid foodies, loving cooking, eating and visiting restaurants we decided to book the Michelins Secrets cookery course during our stay in San Sebastian.
It exceeded all our expectations, Eneko was chilled, he looked after us and created a fun learning environment. We learnt new techniques , ate the amazing food we cooked sat around a gorgeous communal table ( we were a party of 4 and there was another party of 3 , so 7 in total) . Laura shared her knowledge of wines as we sampled different wines with each course, as well as topping our glasses as we prepped and cooked. The space is modern, very tasteful, , very well organised and a great layout.
Would definitely recommend , 10 out of 10 Eneko and Team Mimo.

Only in a city like San Sebastián, with more Michelin Star Chefs and restaurants than anywhere else in the world, one can expect to visit such school. Amazing class, unique experience, helpful staff, incredibly professional and knowledgeable chef Miguel…. I took the “Secrets of Michelin Star Chef” class, and WOW, what a memorable experience! The menu was superb and exquisite, the ambiance was adorable and welcoming and the food tasted heavenly! I took many cooking classes before and create gourmet dinners myself, yet I learned a lot and enjoyed it immensely! Thank you Lara and Chef Miguel!

    Wow, this is amazing!
We cooked in a HUGE, professional kitchen with every imaginable gadget
We were so well looked after, we had drinks, the chefs know how to make sure we all felt at home and hit just the right note of humour while showing us how to cook the dishes.
We learnt some amazing techniques, ate everything we made and drank plenty of wine :)
I honestly couldn't fault a thing. I wasn't sure if it would be worth the money as it does cost a lot, but I came away thinking it has been worth every penny.

I would go again in a heartbeat.

What an excellent class! Not only we’re the techniques exactly what I was looking for, but also the chefs made it a lot of fun and answered my other molecular gastronomy questions too! They even got me the additional recipe I requested in time for me to prep & create for New Year’s Eve dinner party tonight! I can’t wait for another class! Thank you!
