Local experts tour with Pilar was excellent. The sights and walks were impressive and interesting. One steep walk was a bit too much for our knees but Pilar told us about it in advance and suggested an alternative route that had good views which we enjoyed. Pilar was enthusiastic and informative about the region, history and culture. Gernika was a moving context for the famous painting. Highly recommended.

We visited San Sebastian from a Bilbao cruise stop. We did a private tour with Felix and had a great time. Despite the rain, we enjoyed our walking tour around San Sebastian followed by Pintxos and Wine tasting. Felix provided the right mix of tour/information with the food/wine tasting and some free time and it made for a great experience. I would definitely recommend this tour!

This tour is excellent. Beatriz was really engaging and gave us a great insight into the old town area and aspects of its history with lots of helpful pointers to making the most of all the fascinating district has to offer. We’d heartily recommend this tour at the start of a stay in Bilbao.

Pedro was knowledgeable on Bilbao history and culture, friendly and patient with questions and photos. He also gave us advice on other sights, bars and restaurants. I learned a lot and had a good time!

We had Pedro as a tour guide and he was fantastic. He was patient, funny, kind, friendly, and super knowledgeable. He was aware of slower members of the group and made sure no one was left behind. The views at Gaztelugatxe were incredible, but be warned that if you’re not an athletic person, you will definitely be struggling on the way up and on the way down! Wear shoes with good grip because the rocks are well worn from all the tourists and can get wet from the ocean mist. The road up is incredible and definitely worth the hike if you can manage it. This is the most difficult part of the tour and it gets much easier from here. The stop at Mundaka is quick and a great place to stop for lunch! Pedro recommended a cute bar for us to stop for a drink and some food. You get to sit by a small marina and enjoy your food in the shade with a view. The final stop at Guernika-Lumo was a little more somber but educational. You get to see a tile replica of Picasso’s Guernica and learn about the sacred oak trees at the Assembly House that are important to the Basque Culture. Overall, this tour is well worth it. Be prepared that you will begin with a strenuous hike, not a leisurely walk. The walking trails get easier as the tour goes on and is worth the money spent. I would recommend this experience (and my guide, Pedro!) to anyone who is coming to visit this region.

Extremely friendly guide! Awesome tour to learn about the basque culture and the sights were incredible…some decent level of fitness is recommended. I’m fairly fit and my legs still hurt a bit the next day:)

Excellent guide who took us to five different bars/restaurants where we tasted six different tasty dishes we had never experienced before and would probably never have selected ourselves. The drinks selected to accompany the dishes were superb.

A great experience. Our local Guide Eduardo was knowledgeable, engaging and passionate about Basque people, culture and history. Easy pick up and return. Fantastic views and scenery, well worth the walk!

The tour was fantastic! Our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly it almost felt like hanging out with a very smart friend. San Juan de Gaztelugatxe was so beautiful and the hike was well worth it. Mundaka was small and quaint but held so much old world beauty, and Guernica was a somber but important place to visit and learn the history of.

Highly recommended if you are in the region of Bilbao. I would advise you to request Pilar as your the tour guide. She was very knowledgeable with all those places and Spanish history in general. She managed to explains everything in every chance. She likes to engage with the us and make sure all of us feel included. She was also very easy going and walked the whole way with us at Gaztelugatxe (WOW!!) For those are Game of Thrones franchise fans like me, you are not regretting any single minutes you spent at Gaztelugatxe. I came as regular GoT fans and back with admiration of Spanish histories especially in Guarnica area.

We spent a delightful day with Pilar, our guide, on this tour. Their were six of us on the tour and Pilar was very involved in catering to the needs of the different individuals on the trip. For example, only three in the group hiked to the monetary at Gaztelugatxe while the other three remained behind and enjoyed a coffee and the views. We stopped at nice seaside restaurant in Bermeo where we were able to enjoy a very nice lunch before heading to Gernika. For me, Gernika was the highlight of the tour…..now those who hiked to the monetary may disagree! In any case, it was a very nice day and I would certainly recommend this your.

Our friends had booked this all day tour for us and it was just the four of us. Adur I. was our guide, and he was outstanding. In addition, to getting us to and from San Sebastián and Getaria , he provided commentary on the Basque culture, history and the current state of affairs in the Basque Country, Spain and the World!!! We loved it!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our walks through San Sebastián (it was during the annual film festival so we were told it was more crowded than usual), and the small seaside town of Getaria. The tour included two stops for pintxos which served as refreshing breaks. Most important, Adur was extremely sensitive to our limitations…..he walked at a slower pace for us and in Getaria dropped us off rather than make us walk from the van’s parking spot. While we liked seeing and learning about San Sebastián and Getaria, the highlight of the trip was meeting and getting to know Adur; indeed, it helped that we shared similar social and political philosophies.

A wonderful experience. from the moment he arrived to pick us up from our hotel , Adur made sure we had a good time . A very relaxing , interesting day and wine tastings. Lunch in the peaceful town of LaGuardia . A very knowledgeable guide who spoke perfect English. Highly recommend the tour . We had a wonderful day . Possibly slightly overpriced but having said that couldn’t fault the trip and it was a good opportunity for our driver to relax and see more.

We just returned from the San Sebastian and Getaria tour with Adur Iriondo. It was one of the most enjoyable day tours we have taken. We visited San Sebastian during their annual film festival. Although somewhat crowded we were able to walk around the town visiting the various sights including the beach area and old town where we enjoyed a delicious sampling of pintxos at two different restaurants. Much credit goes out to Adur who, being born and raised in the Basque Country, shared his vast knowledge of the region. Not just the history but the "stories" behind the history. He also shared his personal stories growing up in the area. It was not only educational but Adur made it very entertaining -- "edutaining". Adur also followed up with us on other areas to go and eat in the Basque region. We would highly recommend this full day tour of San Sebastian and Getaria.

Pedro was a warm, gifted guide who educated us on the history of the Basque people, some specific stories related to the Hermitage we visited as well as the history and fatal bombing of Gernika which inspired the Picasso painting with the same title. He ensured that each person could climb the steps and gave us great tips for our visits as well. Highly recommend.
