About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- felixaL3194HC0 contributionsHiking, history, and luxury! We saved this experience for our last full day in Asturias after several days of enjoying company with family and friends. This trip was just for the two of us, an opportunity to relax ourselves as much as possible before the long trip home, and it did not disappoint! First and foremost, our guide, Debora, was a delight. She’s friendly, accommodating, outgoing and very knowledgable about the trail and the surrounding country leading from the Parque Invierno to Las Caldas, the posh 18th Century Spa. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with and getting to know her through the morning and afternoon and we kept her contact information at the end of the day to possibly reconnect with her when we return to Spain in the future. Now, please note for those who don’t hike often. This was a three-hour walk. We left Parque Invierno at 9:30am and arrived at the doors of the spa just before 12:30pm. If you’re not used to walking long distances, you may want to limber up and do a little work on your fitness before making your reservation — the entire trail is paved and there’s no cross-country hiking, but it might still be a challenge, especially if your feet aren’t used to walking for that long! Now, once you get to Las Caldas, the luxury can begin. The staff is friendly, the facilities are marvelous and state-of-the-art while still respectful of the site’s long history. The steam room-cold bath-sauna experience was probably my favorite part, but the heated pools and the terrace for lounging and enjoying the view are also extraordinary. You’ll get two hours to enjoy it all — plenty of time. All in all, we loved our time on this experience. Highly recommend!Written June 23, 2024
- racheld8900 contributionsWonderful, personalized ancestry tourDebora arranged a wonderful and personalized ancestry tour, and we are so grateful for her effort, energy, and hard work. Her tour was a totally enjoyable and very personal event in our lives. Her command of the language was impressive; her attention to detail helped us to relate to our own genealogy; and, her sacrifice & effort gave us a glimpse into life in Aviles many years ago. The tour of the old mine was both enlightening and frightening. And, the 2 elderly women who opened the Church (San Martin) in Laspra were charming and delightful. We are very happy & thankful that we had the opportunity to meet her and to utilize her very able skill & knowledge to guide us along the way in Aviles.Written June 7, 2023
- psteiner12120 contributionsSpectacular Asturias - finding my roots, from the ocean cliffs to the depths of a mine!Debora gave us a custom tour of Asturias to visit the town of my Grandfather in Arnao- we visited the church where he was baptized San Martin de Laspra on the Camino Norte and then to Santa Maria Del Mar to the church his parents were married in overlooking the ocean. We feasted on an Asturian Lunch of Cachopo and Torta de abuela with local cider. The highlights were the museum of anchors on the coast, Elenore the steam train that transported coal from the mine and the tour into the Submarine Mine at Arnao. She is a lovely knowledgeable guide that went above and beyond and has my highest recommendation!Written May 18, 2023
- IrishRoverDC0 contributionsOutstanding GuideThe highlight of my trip - beyond seeing my daughter who just moved to Oviedo - was this guided Camino hike with Debora. She is just an outstanding guide: highly informative about the Camino, Asturias, local foods and even Spanish history. Debora was helpful, too, in suggesting other must see Oviedo/Asturias venues. They don't get any better than Debora. We'll be looking her up on our next trip here in February.Written October 18, 2022
- kingliz0 contributionsLovely day on the CaminoWhat a great tour! Debora met my niece and I at the designated starting point and we set out on the streets of Oviedo toward the countryside following the Camino Primitivo. Debora shared interesting bits about Oviedo, it’s history and about Asturias. She was easy to talk with, very knowledgeable about the Camino and the ways of the pilgrims making the journey. The route was a perfect little taste of the larger Camino, and it was so nice to get out into the hills outside of Oviedo and experience the nature of Asturias. She even had Trail Passports for us which we stamped at one of the spots along our walk. We ended the walk at a lovely little cafe, had a much appreciated cold drink, followed by a cab ride right back to our hotel. If you want to see a bit of the lovely country outside Oviedo, I highly recommend taking a walk with Debora.Written September 11, 2022
- Francinerace70 contributionsExcellentThis activity was a nice surprise, Are guide Debora was very knowledgeable, and responsive to are needs. The walk was a nice beginning to a small village with this beautiful spa. To complete the day, Debora organized a succulent traditionnal dîner at a local restaurant. My friend Micheline and i, highly recommend this tour. It will bring you closer to nature, learn the history of the region, and finish with à nice relaxing moment. 😉Written June 16, 2022
- Bethany M0 contributionsOviedo Hidden GemOviedo is such a gorgeous city. This walking tour lets you see the beauty of the city while experiencing nature. The final destination of the 18th century spa completes the day perfectly. The spa is like nothing I've ever experienced! Definitely a hidden gem. Debora is knowledgeable and kind. This is a must see if traveling to Oviedo!Written June 14, 2022
- FarahMar850 contributionsFirst steps on the trailIn September 2021 I visited Asturias and joined Debora from intoAsturias on a half-day hike walking the first steps of the Camino Primitvo. Not having any experience with hiking at all, she made me feel comfortable and capable. We started at the Cathedral in Oviedo where the rich history of the Camino is visible on every street corner, through scallops or stories, past a very nice bakery for some delicious snacks and into the mountains. During our walk she shared the great history of Asturias with me; from culture to architecture, agriculture to cuisine, Debora is a very knowledgable guide and her stories make the hike even more enjoyable. intoAsturias offers unique experiences with a personal touch and I am very happy I got the opportunity to book this excursion. It even inspired me to one day return and continue the Camino.Written November 8, 2021

- marygL1385RD0 contributionsWonderful Experience!Debora was a fantastic guide for the El Camino Santiago!! She communicated with us before hand and kept us up to date. Explaining how to get to the cathedral could improve, but so minor in the whole experience. She was very knowledgeable about the Camino and sights along the way. I am 68 and in fair shape. The hike was a challenge, but she was very considerate and encouraging. I finished and it was an amazing experience. Plus, we had a beautiful day. Debora also had s walking stick for me that was a great help!Written November 27, 2020

- annakusynova0 contributionsnot to miss tour with DeboraI arranged a private tour of Asturias with Debora in February 2020. I asked her to suggest a tour tailored for my 4 children whose ages range from 2 to 13. I have to say Debora is a perfect guide - she is very professional, child-oriented and professional in her field. We had a tour walking Dinosaurs which children enjoyed very much. Apart of the children's interest in dinosaurs at that time the welcoming attitude of Debora and her friendliness made the tour unforgettable. For anyone visiting Asturias, I would heartily recommend Debora as a guide.Written September 2, 2020
- joecaravella0 contributionsGreat Expeirnce!Debora made the Taste of the Camino Santiago our best event in Spain. She met us promptly, went over the agenda and we were on our way. She found something in common or to personally connect upon with each of our group members. This experience commences at the beautiful Cathedral and you pass the metal gold colored scallops while in the city as you progress on the Primitivo section of the trail. Once in the countryside, you pass by the traditional scallop markers and religious chapels. Debora is very enthusiastic, intuitive and paced the group according to its needs and desires. She made sure we had water and she even brought a few surprise treats. At the end of route for the day on the trail, we insisted Debora stay with us for a light refreshment. Totally worth the time to do this trip with Debora!Written September 2, 2020
- Timetogo3210 contributionsSuch an incredible experience!I thoroughly enjoyed my “taste” of the Camino de Santiago. Debora is a warm and friendly person, and she made it feel more like a hike with friends than meeting people for the first time. She was also very encouraging when the trail was a bit difficult for me. The experience was unique and special. If you are interested in the Camino de Santiago but only have a short time in Oviedo, this experience would be perfect for you.Written August 28, 2020
- B7380GRelisabethg0 contributionsPilgrim for a dayWe really enjoyed our taste of the Camino de Santiago! The hike is not too challenging and Debora was a lovely and knowledgeable guide. She provided us with snacks, a pilgrims’ pass and a lot of information about the region of Asturias and the Camino. As Debora has been living in Asturias for a while, she is also able to give good recommendations about what to do and where to eat in the area. We would definitely recommend this tour, if you would like to be a pilgrim for a day and explore Asturias’ beautiful landscape!Written August 27, 2020
