About
During this full-day journey I will take you to a traditional olive orchard to learn about olive oil production. I'll also take you to the historic village of Belchite. Join me on an exciting escape to the Zaragoza countryside! We'll tour the grounds, visiting the centenary olive trees, and indulge in a tasting of oil made of the local Empeltre olive. Next, we'll continue on our journey to the ancient village of Belchite, which today serves as a memorial for the Spanish Civil War. Some of my favorite movies were shot in this remarkable ghost town, including Guillermo del Toro's famous Pan's Labyrinth. I'll share with you my experiences in Zaragoza and suggest fun activities for the rest of your trip!

Don't forget to taste the Aragonese Olive Oil
Oct 2019 • Couples
We joined the Olive Oil and Belchite Tour in October 2019. The guide picked us up in his very comfortable car at our Hotel and drove us to Belchite .On the way we had a short stroll through an Olive grove to see a 300 year old Olive tree ,plus a historic hilltop Monastery before arriving at Belchite . We took a tour of a local Olive Factory and then went on a guided tour of old Town of Belchite which was severely damage during the Spanish Civil War .
All of the components of this half day tour were very interesting and worthwhile but I have to say the Tour is not that well set up for English Speakers . The guided Tour of the Olive Oil Factory is conducted in Spanish ( translated by Our Tour guide) and the Tour of Belchite is conducted in Spanish also . There are English audio guides available but if these get out of sequence you miss a lot of the information.
I think this important tour could be improved a lot by the provision
of a printed handout or email which provides good quality information in English of the main points of the Tour .
This comment is intended to be constructive and I hope it will be useful

Thank you very much for your review Maureen!!, it was a pleasure to show you a piece of history of Belchite. Currently, the company that organizes visits to the Belchite old town is only carried out in Spanish with autoguides in other languages, but I will try to transfer this need in order to improve it for the future. For my part, the idea you propose to me seems fantastic and I will try to incorporate in the next tours an add-on that makes the English-speaking tourist even more enjoyable. Cheers Jorge

Belchite made accessible
This is a good but not inexpensive way to see Belchite. Jorge provides very comfortable transport, door-to-door service and good background and can tailor the tour to the interests of the group. The olive oil production visit is interesting and the owner who leads it is very knowledgeable. Belchite is a stark reminder of the horrors of war -particularly civil war- and it was good to have Jorge’s additional translation on top of the English audio guide. Certainly others who arrived without a guide missed a lot.
