We were picked up on time at our hotel in a Sprinter-type van. Roman (the guide) and Lola (the bus driver) were great. The drive to Cordoba was informative and interesting, with Roman pointing out notable items and historical background along the way. He had exceptionally strong English and was engaging, dynamic and knowledgeable. The van was pretty cramped for leg room but was new and clean. We made a short coffee break outside of Cordoba.

When we arrived in Cordoba at 10 a.m., the local guide, Maria, took over. She was knowledgeable, but allocated time strangely and didn't communicate terribly well. Maria's English was fair, not great. She was not particularly engaging. The most challenging aspect of our time with Maria is that she seemed to spend inordinate amounts of time in the gardens surrounding the Alcazar, which are attractive, but largely a modern addition. She seemed to be challenged by prioritizing things, not describing her plans for us, and failing to give us insights into how the time would be spent. She treated everything as equally important. The tour of the Jewish Quarter was fine, but dragged a bit. Maria left the Cordoba Mosque for last and we didn't arrive there until shortly before 1:00. She kept us until nearly 1:40 and people were hungry. A couple of people just walked out in the middle of her droning presentation, saying they were starving. It would have been much better had she communicated her plans initially upon our meeting, or allocated time more sensibly. Another aspect of the tour I didn't love is that, once we got to the mosque, 15+ additional people joined our group. We had no break from 10 to 1:40.

After a late lunch on our own, we met back up with Roman and Lola at 3:30 and had a pleasant drive back to Seville. Roman had a number of helpful suggestions for members of our group who had questions about additional sites to see in Andalucia.

Not a bad tour by any means, but not great either.

We had booked this tip via Viator, and it was a small bunch of people, we did reach Cordoba a little ahead of schedule and had to wait for the local guide to arrive, unfortunately, I don't remember her name, she took us first to the Alcazar and for some reason she spent way too much time in the gardens there, she took 2 - 15 min breaks there which was not needed but since the group thought its planned no one said anything (you don't need 45 mins plus in this garden) then she rushed through the castle and not even taking us to the top part (could have not given one break and allowed those who wanted to go up)
What came next was even worse, as she walked through the town she picked up the pace so fast that there was no time to even click pictures, at one point there were 3 of us who went missing and she didn't care and even though we all called the no the guide gave us, that phone was on the bus and not with the group, luckily we found the group just before they entered the UNESCO-listed Mosque-Cathedral,she made it as if it was our fault that we did not keep up.

All the time wasted up front only to rush through the ending, did not enjoy that part of the trip at all, had just about 1 - 1.5 for lunch and to get back to the bus which was a bit rushed, then onward to Carmona, which was a nice little walk to end the tour.

Overall disappointing experience all thanks to the local guide.

Dear traveller! Thank you very much for review. We regret that you had a bad experience with the local guide in Córdoba, we always try to provide our travellers with the best guides. You hired a regular tour and it's important to adapt to the group. If you want to enjoy a personal tour (more time in a place than in another one, more time for taking pictures, etc.), I would recommend you to hire the next time a private tour. We hope that you can back to Andalusia and travel again with us in order to bring you a better experience. Kind regards, ANDALSUR EXCURSIONES

I had originally considered just taking a train to Cordoba, but I’m glad I didn’t. This was about the same price, and you got plenty of information about the town and the Mosque. The guide was very informative and friendly.

When I booked this day trip from Seville I requested hotel pick up and drop off. This was confirmed, with pick up between 8-8:30am. 2 days before the day trip, I reconfirmed the pickup. Less that 24 hours before the day trip, I got an email telling me to meet at their office Seville at 7:15am. When I called the only number I had, it was the tour guide's number. I explained my displeasure at the bait and switch and asked to talk with the owner. The guide called the owner, then called me back. THE OWNER REFUSED TO TALK WITH ME!!! And, he refused to give me a refund, since it was less than 24 hours from departure. I am currently disputing the charge with my credit card company. BEFORE YOU BOOK THIS TOUR, JUST BE AWARE OF THE BAIT AND SWITCH. The company's name is ANDALSUR EXCURSIONES.

We booked a day trip to Córdoba from Seville on On The Go Tours eight days before our intended day trip.Upon receiving the confirmation voucher from Viator, phoned them to inform them where we are staying and arrange for the pick up.We are told that our pick up is at 07:45 from our hotel.Waited for almost an hour no pick up,called the local tour operator (Andalsur Excursiones) and was told that we got the wrong information from Viator.(Email was send from Viator day before the tour to tell us the new arrangement. But we don’t check email when we are on holiday so that’s why we arranged everything before we go and told them where we are staying in case there are some changes). The tour was rescheduled the next day and the meeting point is Hotel Becquer for pick up at 07:55.We arrived at the hotel 07:45 waiting at the lobby. After 30 minutes of waiting, phoned the local agent to check the whereabouts of the bus.Was told that the bus had been and gone and to take a taxi to a hotel near the train station to join the group. When we asked the tour guide what happened he said that he peeped through the glass door of the hotel and didn’t see us then he left. Why he didn’t go inside and check at the lobby???and he’ll see us there waiting !!!They promised to refund the taxi fare but after those two stressful days,we were not bother to face more hassle. We were just lucky that we didn’t book it on our last day and missed it ....for it will ruin the whole holiday.Husband emailed them and complained.Received an email back that said,City Tour Alhambra Viajes will provide us partial refund as a gesture of goodwill on the amount of £15.66.Is it worth the stress???We guessed NOT.

On the plus side, the tour guide on the bus was very informative. And also the tour guide in Córdoba was very knowledgeable but unfortunately she spoke to fast.

We had toured the Alcazar in Sevilla the day before with an excellent guide, so we had a point of comparison. The man who conducted the bus part was knowledgable and friendly and spoke good English. But when we reached Cordoba, we had to wait for the guide to show up and then some of the ear pieces didn't work. They only had one spare, so someone had to go back to the office and get more. That meant a few people had no earpieces during the first 30 or 40 minutes. Our guide for this portion was poor. His English was bad, his facts seemed to contradict themselves, the pacing was bad--after the Alcazar we went through the Jewish quarter. We spent an inordinate amount of boring time on some things that could have been covered in a couple of minutes. I was eager to see the Mosque/Cathedral. This was (unfortunately) the last thing on the trip. We were handed off to another guide who did a better job. I would rather have taken the train on my own (saved 45 minutes each way) and signed up for a tour of the buildings there, and had lots of time for shopping and eating. As it was, we had 2 hours after the tour to meet the bus. I do not recommend this tour.

Our day-trip to Cordoba was one of the highlights of our travels in Southern Spain! It was an early start (7:45am) to meet Pepe in Central Sevilla, and while he moved a little too quickly getting us to our bus and subsequently to our tour guide in Cordoba (don't stop to use the restroom or you'll be left behind), when we connected with Miriam was delightful, knowledgeable, and paced everything perfectly. We walked all through the Alcazar, Jewish quarter, and the Mezquita and were thoroughly impressed! A beautiful city, satisfying tour, and enough time at the end to have lunch before boarding our bus to return to Sevilla. We were home by 6:00pm. Wondeful!

First of all, the guides and the driver were lovely, informative and knowledgeable. It seems like an overall problem with the company and the way they run/schedule the trip. Here are a few negative highlight which made the day overall chaotic and not what we expected based on the trip description/what we paid for:

-the tour overall feels overpriced. For one, you have a lot of people involved, driver, bus tour guide, and a Córdoba tour guide. The bus tour guide was nice, but overall not needed if the driver was able to do both roles. Since the bus tour guide didn’t really have a ton of knowledge about Córdoba and didn’t provide a ton of education on the drive, the driver could have easily drove us and then told us where to meet up when we were done.
- we were supposed to get to/from hotel transport but had to walk 7 mins to pick up and 15 mins back - first world problems, but we paid $120 each... so I expect some level of comfort
-person “added” to tour at 7:45 am - this is what we were told at least.. we were told we had picked up everyone and were on our way, but then the bus guide said he was told someone was “added” and we had to go get them. Turns out it was at a hotel we had JUST been at. I’m wondering if the tour forgot the person and the hotel called for them or something, and that was just what we were told? I don’t know how someone could add so early in the morning on a Sunday when the office etc is closed.
-we added in the optional Carmona option when we booked with trip advisor (and paid extra) but was told the city was “closed” and to request refund from TripAdvisor. We had to specifically ask after the bus guide reviewed the itinerary - it wasn’t announced and if we had forgotten about it (in the hectic nature of traveling) we wouldn’t have known at all
-The schedule was very off in Cordoba-the tour guide wasn’t there when we got to the meeting place, and several phone calls later the bus guide found out that we were going to have “free time” to explore and meet with the tour guide several hours later. Then we were just directed to the city center to “explore” - which is fine, I’m an adult, but I hadn’t read much on Córdoba (what to see, eat, do) because I though were would get more info on the bus ride, and from the tour guide to inform what we did later on in the day. So we were kind of wandering and for sure could have done a much better job with the info gained from the tour via the original schedule. We gleaned that the original tour guide canceled or just didn’t show - no real explanation was provided.
-when we finally got a tour guide, we only had a 3 hours to do everything (the Alcazar, the guided walking tour, Jewish synagogue, and the Mosque) and it was frantic. It was rushed and piecemeal. It would have been better with the tour as advertised because we would have gotten more time to exploring on our “free time” with the guided tour ending at one of the spots. I’m not sure if the tour guide is typically booked for only 3 hours - the schedule on the trip advisor page says 30 mins for each place, and now, having done it, it isn’t nearly enough time
-the trip advisor post says “front of the line” access, but waited 30 mins in line. Again, first world problems, but when you only have 3 hours with the guide, and 3 monuments and a walking tour, it’s a lot of wasted time. It was explained that it doesn’t usually happened like this and was due to it being Sunday, but if the trip wasn’t flipped to the guided tour in the afternoon it wouldn’t have happened
-Book with caution if you want a tour in a language other than English or Spanish!!! Because the initial tour guide wasn’t there and they had to find someone else last minute, the person they found didn’t speak French and a French family was completely lost for most of the guided tour. They were told to ask for a refund from trip advisor, but it’s the company’s fault for sure
-I’ve been on many tours in a lot of places, and one of the things I most enjoy is learning about where we are and where we’re going from a local - an almost 2 hour bus drive one way is a great time for this, but we didn’t get a ton of info (our bus tour person was knowledgeable and did speak for about 30 mins for the whole trip) but I feel like other tours have done a better job with info and education during drive time. We found out later that the bus guide hadn’t been to Córdoba recently, and didn’t have any recommendations in where to eat, use the bathroom, etc once we arrived.

Overall, I would suggest not booking this tour - you would be better served to take public transport, book tickets online for sites, and read up ahead of time about Cordoba - the city, history, etc. You would save money and be more in control of your experience.

I really enjoyed this tour mainly for the mosque cathedral which was genuinely one of the best buildings I’ve ever seen! So interesting and unique! The tour guide Ana was excellent really knowledgeable and took us to the alcazar and Jewish Quarter giving us lots of information in an engaging way. We could have easily spent another couple of hours in addition to the free time of 2 hours given after the tour as there’s lots to see and Córdoba is a beautiful town.
The only thing that I would critique is that during the journey time (nearly 2 hours each way) there was no commentary from the guide about Córdoba or Andalusia so we felt this was a lost opportunity to add value especially seeing how expensive the tour is. If this tour had been 50-60 euro per person then it would have felt more like a 5 star experience in terms of value for money
