About
The most classic of excursions in the city of Granada due to its most history-laden access, from Avellano to the top of Cerro del Sol along the Alarife path.
This area is full of vegetation dominated by Mediterranean species such as holm oak, repopulated pine and some specimens of gall oaks, next to which is an abundant scrub of aromatic species.
Without needing to take the car to enter places of recognized beauty. There are numerous ways to ascend to the summits of Cerro del Sol, among them, the old road that starts from the San José cemetery, the forest lanes that run behind the Silla del Moro and the Santa Elena hill, paths and paths that come from the lands of Cenes de la Vega, and through a network of trails that trace paths, mostly unreliable, through the northeastern slope of the hill that faces Sacromonte and falls towards the Darro valley. They are paths that you have to know

- haneefahu0 contributionsAmazing experienceI recently had the pleasure of joining a hike in Granada, and it was an unforgettable experience, largely due to our amazing instructors. From start to finish, they were knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the beautiful surroundings. The route was stunning, offering breathtaking views of the city and the Sierra Nevada mountains. Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to explore Granada’s outdoors with fantastic guides!Written January 16, 2025
- krhale0 contributionsBeautiful views and great companyI loved this somewhat unusual hike more than I can properly state. Our guide was kind and funny and took great pains to explain what to expect next as well as things of note around us - buildings, herbs growing wild, wildlife, rock formations, etc He did so in multiple languages. My fellow hikers were from all over the world and it was fantastic to meet them. I only wish it had been much longer!Written January 11, 2025
- ringo1750 contributionsSnow Hiking in Sierra Nevada - FantasticAbsolutely 100% recommend. Great value for money. Julio is a fantastic guide and provided all the equipment (snow shoes/poles) water/snack. Drove us to the starting point (2500m), about 45 mins from meeting point in Granada. Hike was about 2 and a bit hours and went up to about 2750m. Julio points out a lot of interesting things relating to the local climate and terrain, in addition to making professional photos. I would say you need a level of moderate fitness and a mind set of JUST DO IT. I took my hiking mad 18 year old son and he loved it too, so fully endorsed for both generations. 5 STARS!!!!Written January 10, 2025
- 688haleemak0 contributionsPeaceful and picturesque sunset tourJulio was a fantastic guide and allowed us plenty of time to take in the views and sunset. We managed to see some wild horses which truly one of the highlights. He kindly stopped on the way back to let us buy some fresh honey! The perfect way to spend our last evening in Granada.Written January 9, 2025
- niklasb_ghb20190 contributionsBeautiful hike with friendly and knowledgeable guidesWe were 6 people between 14 and 49, who have not been on many hikes, and we all enjoyed it a lot. There are so many beautiful views, and the hike had the right amount of small challenges for our group. Julio and Marcello are very friendly and helpful guides, who also share som fun facts about the area. I recommend this.Written December 27, 2024
- Cole S0 contributionsSuch an epic viewJulio was so incredibly nice. He is a Brazilian living in Spain which makes for interesting conversation if you ask him about himself. I personally like to hike but this trip was perfect if you have limited time in Granada. It isn’t really a hike but the view is spectacular. Could not stop admiring the snowcapped mountains, the view of the city, and the beautiful sunset.Written December 6, 2024

- nbgoose0 contributionsA must-do in GranadaExcellent trip up into the mountains to get away from city life. Our guide, Julio, was very informative and always keeping his eye out for wildlife. We saw wild horses, mountain goats and a very curious fox. He stopped to let us take pictures and was always willing to take pictures of the group. The mountain top provides terrific views. A chance to see the sunset from 8350 feet. Simply gorgeous!Written November 8, 2024
- garyfT9703HB0 contributionsGet out of your beds! This was brilliant - what a fab way to spend a half day. Julio was a rare guide - intelligent, funny and interesting! Kind of what you might expect from someone who was a former clinical psychologist! The hike shouldn’t faze anyone - it’s a steady climb with time to stop and enjoy the amazing vista. The guide was careful to ensure everyone was comfortable and I was delighted that a cultural mix blended so well we all ended up chatting all the way through the 3 hours of easy but hugely rewarding exercise. “What is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare.” (William Henry Davies) Sums up the experience better than I can!Written November 4, 2024

- TTTT38590 contributionsBest day trip from Granada!Julio was an excellent guide. Easy hike for an experienced hiker. Some tight areas where we had to crawl, hold onto handles, or otherwise navigate the narrow terrain. Would have been fine for beginner hiker with a bit of an adventurous spirit. Would love to go again!Written October 24, 2024
- Ian C0 contributionsAmazing tour in a stunning landscape!Julio is an excellent guide and the scenery on this walk is amazing – mountains, canyons, bridges and more. It’s also an easy and great day out in the mountains. Highly recommended!Written October 23, 2024
- Normabahamondi0 contributionsAmazing beautiful autumn day an lovely view in Sierra NevadaIt was an amazing afternoon tour, Julio was kind and well prepared with all the information regarding the Sierra Nevada location. We managed to see some animals on the way to the top. And the views were breathtaking. Definitely I recommend to take this tour .Written October 19, 2024
- Joellen B0 contributionsFabulous easy hike, great guidesThis was a great break from all the city walking and historical sights of the region. The hike is, as advertised, very do-able for anyone in reasonable shape. We were 2 couples in our 60s and 70s and had no problems. Julio and Marcello were great guides and ensured everyone felt safe in our group of 12. They took some amazing photos of us as an added bonus. We felt happily energized by the hike.Written October 18, 2024

We loved this hike and highly recommend it. Our guides were two Brazilian men and they were lovely and took lots of photos of each of the couples in our group (we had really nice people in our group.) They are very knowledgable and were funny too. The hike is varied (mostly water at the beginning) and beautiful. They gave us hiking sticks which were useful. You need to be at least average fitness to do this tour, wear comfortable shoes (good trainers are fine, they don’t need to be waterproof - just watch your steps). Do make sure you carry water. I advise you take a small hiking backpack with a water bladder, not a draw string backpack. There is some ‘crawling’, some climbing over and holding onto handles, thin ledges, and some steep parts. The pace was good. You need to do lots of leg stretches afterwards, or your calves will ache, if you’re not used to 6K hikes. The price was basically a bargain. I would love to do this tour again. Thanks very much to our great guides!

This was a guided walk that added to our experience of the visit to the Alhambra the previous day. The views of the city from a different perspective were breathtaking. Our guide Julio was knowledgeable and interesting making this a very enjoyable walk.
This was the second time we have been on a guided walk with Attraversiamo and we hope it will not be the last. Thank you.
