About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Gioia R0 contributionsVery relaxingI don’t like massage so we selected the option to just relax in the baths. All the attendants were very friendly, although we were slightly confused about how things worked initially because the woman who showed us the locker rooms hardly spoke English. Which is fair enough, but since there were plenty of attendants I heard speak very good English, it would’ve made more sense for one of them to show us around. But once we were in the pools, it was a very smooth experience. There is a cold pool, a hot pool and two warm pools. A bell rings when it’s time to go back to the changing rooms. We left very relaxed. One downside was that literally every other visitor there when we were was part of a couple, so I felt a tiny bit out of place, but it was still a really good experienceWritten August 2, 2024
- Θά λ0 contributionsThe best in GranadaAmazing experience ! Very relaxing atmosphere and very clean place! We had a massage and it was honestly the best i had in my life ! i felt so sleepy after the session to be honest ! I will define be back in the future !!! I would love to say a big Thank you to the person who i had my session with but unfortunately i don’t remember his name anymore ! 🥲Written June 29, 2024
- 1271to12950 contributionsGorgeous and theatricalCame after a dusty day exploring the usual sights of Granada; once you've found the alleyway entrance it's wonderful, and better than the photos appear; the Hammam is quite modest in size but between the darkness and all the alcoves it seems bigger. It's a reconstruction of course, but if you treat it as theatre rather than a theme park you'll be in the spirit to have a great time. Would go again, and drag all my friends.Written April 9, 2024
- amjbath0 contributionsMagical experienceI've never been to a Hammam before so didn't know what to expect but this blew me away. The most exquisite building with beautiful tiles and roofs and lights. Candles all around and fabulous smells, various pools and rooms and lovely sweet mint tea on hand. We had a 15 min massage and it was perfect. Highly HIGHLY recommend this wonderful experience!Written March 17, 2024
- Andi M0 contributionsReady to do this again soon!I had never done anything like this before and was not sure what to expect. Upon arrival, the process was explained by multilingual and helpful employees. I really enjoyed the baths and my massage was excellent! It was not too crowded, and it was very relaxing! The provided amenities such as a locker with access code, towels, shampoo, soap, etc. were top quality! I highly recommend this experience!Written January 17, 2024
- JanefromNewYork0 contributionsSave Your Money!A beautiful setting and friendly people, but quite possibly the worst massage I've ever received. I had a totally inexperienced "masseur" whose idea of massage seemed to be drawing quick, light circles on my back! I tried to re-direct him but his English wasn't very good and it didn't seem to change anything. It was so ridiculous, I had to keep myself from laughing. When I complained to the front desk, they told me management would be in touch with me to follow-up. When that didn't happen, I wrote an email to the hammam. Still no response. Save your money! There are plenty of wonderful things to do in Granada but sadly, this isn't one of them.Written November 19, 2023
- MELISSA O0 contributionsUnexpected and unique experienceA wonderful experience. I wasn’t sure what to expect and this did not disappoint. When you enter through a side street, almost like a hidden gem.Written October 28, 2023
- jbyrnes20190 contributionsVery disappointing !!!I saw a lot of good reviews, but I can only guess they were positive because they had nothing to compare—it is something most people have never done. Sounded like a very unique experience. Nothing we requested was fulfilled. Asked for separate rooms—they put us together. Asked to do baths first to relax before massage. They made us do massage first., which means the nice massage oils were wasted in the baths. First time I had to wear a swimsuit for a massage. Massage was more a Swedish rub. Paid $100E. each. We’re required to be in and out in 90 minutes. With a 60 minute massage, that didn’t leave much relaxation time. Did not feel like we got a good value. My wife and I have done Turkish bath experiences before that were much more relaxed and a much different experience.Written October 27, 2023
- SirMRH0 contributionsHurrah for the HammamI went once during my short stay in Granada ( it was a birthday present from my son) and liked it so much that I booked to go again to aid my recovery after my son’s wedding! I don’t recognise any of the one star reviews and not least because I found everywhere on the premises to be very clean and secondly, during neither of my visits did I find any of the bathing areas to be overcrowded . The architecture and tiling is stunning and the staff very friendly and helpful. I had two 15 minute massages both of which were very good.Written October 25, 2023
- JanFP0 contributionsNot very good at allWe were very disappointed in our visit. It is unfortunate that so few of the staff can speak any English at all. One woman was positively rude, shushing everyone as if we were little kids. I did not think it was worth the money. The facility is pretty, but the massage is a real joke. Save your money for some tapas and sangria!Written October 12, 2023
- 306jessd0 contributionsVery relaxingA much needed service after a most fantastic week long girl's trip. Another highlight to the many wonders of Spain. I did the Midra 30 service and relaxed in the baths. The serenity and service was top notch. Enjoyed this 2 hour moment. Would definitely be back!Written April 23, 2023
- gregoryl6280 contributionsAwkward for solo guest, probably great for couples. As a solo guest, this is not an enjoyable or relaxing experience. If you are a couple, you probably will have an awesome time, which seemed to be the case for the couples I saw making out and being intimate in the hot water bath. It made it very very uncomfortable for me to relax and enjoy the experience. I did not even get into the bath it was so uncomfortable and left early shortly there after. It is a small bath and two couples were “engaged”. The whole experience is very rushed and awkward. This is not a traditional Hammam. I have been to a traditional Hammam in Morocco. But I knew that before going so no harm there, but sharing so people know the facts. This is a “luxury” Hammam for couples to have a romantic evening. The one saving grace was the massage. Antonio was an awesome massage therapist and he is why I am giving this review two stars instead of one. I almost gave it three, but there was no one to greet you upon leaving or thank you or anything. I had to walk back around to leave a tip for Antonio, which the person as the front desk was kind enough to make sure he got. So, if you are a couple looking for a romantic evening then this likely a great place for you. If you are a solo traveler, I would recommend steering clear.Written January 24, 2023
- mountainsrivers990 contributionsStunning! This was not what I was expecting - and it absolutely blew me away! This spa is GORGEOUS and CLEAN. Each pool is a world unto itself. I wish I had come at the beginning of my stay in Granada, as I would have returned at least two more times. The only thing to mention is, as other reviewers mentioned, the massage is very very light pressure. I enjoyed my massage but my boyfriend did not enjoy his. We didn't try the hammam room but it looked divine. The water in the pools is constantly circulated and filtered so although there are a group of people per time slot using the facilities, the water was visibly clean. The shower/locker rooms were clean, the only recommendation I have here is to provide combs/brushes and ear buds/Q tips. I would absolutely return and recommend to all my friends.Written December 26, 2022
- reawakenadventure0 contributionsSerene Spa ExperienceI've gone to thermal spas in Budapest, Reykjavik, and other places around the world, but never experienced a hammam until now. Fantastic experience. I booked the journey with 30 min massage. When you arrive, you wash your hands ceremonially (get perfumed soap, a bowl is placed in your lap, and the attendant pours water over your hands.). Then you're guided to the appropriate dressing room. Change into your swimwear and go into the antechamber. The spa limits the number of people in the spa for each 2 hour session, so it's not crowded at all. The hostess explains the suggested bathing method, and takes you into the entire place. There are hot, medium, cold pools along with a steam room. Also a resting room with mint tea. Guests are asked not to speak much or loudly. If you've booked a massage, at some point during the 2-hour journey, a staff member escorts you to the massage room. It was a blissful 2 hours.Written May 31, 2022
- Barcelona-Madrid0 contributionsHeavenly place and Spring ritualOne of the most beautiful hammams in Spain. Customer service, cleanliness of the premises and logistics were all excellent. Book the Spring ritual (if you are still in time to catch it), especially if you need to nurture your sensitive self: it is a journey through the senses unlike anything I have experienced before. Not knowing exactly what to expect actually helps you surrender and live it to the fullest. And you will have your personal guide to accompany you throughout. I will not spoil it by giving away the details, but rest assured that you will experience the best aspects of the various treatments the hammam has to offer. Go for the first morning turn if you can: you will access the hammam 40 minutes beforehand, and will have the place to yourself for half an hour and that in itself is priceless.Written May 29, 2022

Factory like Hammam, where you are given 1h1/2 time including massage time for the price of your entrance.
The staff is highly solicitated and you feel them tired when receiving a massage at the end of the afternoon.
2 entrances and 2 massages of 30 mins each : EUR 140
Probably due to extensive booking, the once inmemorable experience becomes a pass. Time to look for alternative places.
Still a charming hammam.

Dear Toyota64,
Thank you for your sincere opinion. We would like you would have enjoyed the experience because we want all our customers to spend quality time in our Hammam. Sorry if this was not your case. We are happy to read that you liked the Hammam itself.
We send you our apologies if the experience did not reach your expectations.
Best regards,

A "meh" experience.
I used the *English* version of their website to book Mimma30 (Arab bath, 30 min relaxing massage) with an extra for two adults assuming it would be a massage in more special location - "a garden" from my limited French (Jardin) and looking at a screenshot (see the attached picture) that looked like a spacious garden area. Unfortunately, I learned on the spot that turned out to be the same package as the less expensive Mimma30 (which unlike the more expensive one we selected offered additional discounts, for example, for Alhambra visitors like us) with a small bottle of massage oil added. The staff did not offer to reduce the rate if we forgo the oil we did not want nor even offered us any choice of their oil (they have four massage oils for the massage, but gave us two of the type we did not ask for).
After some waiting in front of the locker rooms we were allowed in and offered explanation for each area of the hammam: cold pool, the room with tea and oil samplers, pools with warm water, a pool with very warm water and the steam room. We were told we have 1 hour (excluding 30 mins massage time) included to try each pool, through in fact by that time we probably had just a bit over 30 minutes left. They tell you your time is over provisioning that you would spend 10+ mins in the lockers/shower. It was a bit too crowded for a serene experience (with 8-10 people in larger pool, but even 3 people easily blocked the smaller, cold one, from others to use those forcing 10+ mins wait). I would suggest not going to Hammam on a busy day to avoid overcrowding and actually relax.
The massage was pretty good, but the hammam experience, pools and massage areas were too crowded and everything looked conveyor system-like where staff randomly chooses when you should go for a massage, not you. Overall customer service was mediocre (they could have easily fixed the misunderstanding with the package if they cared about customer experience and actually fully translate it removing the deceiving picture, let alone not force the same type of oil two both of us, but at least give an option to select different ones).

Dear VladQ, we are very sorry for the misunderstanding with our promotion of "MIMMA y Aceite del Jardín de Hammam".
"Jardín de Hammam" is our own cosmetic line. We have promotions that include some of our products such as oils, creams, gloves, soap...
In this case; "MIMMA30 y Aceite del Jardín de Hammam", as well attached in the photo, has a price of 79€, which includes: 90´of bathing, including 30´ of massage and also a 100ml bottle of massage oil for take it home.
The normal MIMMA30 service ranges between 70-75€ and the bottle of oil only costs 14.90€.
Also clarify that by having this promotion, you cannot apply another promotion such as the 5% discount when presenting the Alhambra tickets, in the bath and massage services.
We are very sorry that you could not choose the aroma of the massage oil, since our colleagues always offer the different aromas available so that you can choose the one you like the most.
Even so, if you didn´t agree, since it was a mix-up and you didn´t want the oil, my colleagues would have had no problem changing your service for MIMMA 30 without massage oil.
The total time is 90 minutes. During the bath my colleagues are looking for the travelers for their massage. If at the end of the massage there is still bath time, you can continue until the Host, who is in charge of the shift, tell you that the bathroom is finished.
I reiterate our apologies and I hope I have been able to clear up this confusion.
Greetings.

The place is beautiful. But if you have tried a hammam before, you may be disappointed. The treatments (exfoliation, massage) are unpleasant. More globally, it is the factory at each stage. It is all very framed, so much so that we are stressed from start to finish. It's too crowded, even if we tried to go at an off-peak hour. Too many people in the locker room. Too many people in the showers. Too many people in the bathrooms. Too many people in the hammam. And the most unpleasant thing is that we were not given the treatment at the same time, so we could not spend time together in the different rooms.

It was an interesting and different experience, and a good way to spend a few hours, especially in the hot summer day. The staff were very polite and the service was great. One thing though, they probably should tell people they need to bring their swim wear - the place is coed, not like some hot springs or onset, so you probably wouldn't want to walk around naked. I think a lot of people didn't know and ended up just wearing their underwear. Also, the massage was a little on the weak side, even though I asked for strong pressure.

Dear l0uhan, first of all thank you very much for your review, we are glad that you enjoyed the experience in our Hammam.
We always tell our clients, when they make the reservation, that they only need to bring a swimsuit and if they don't have one, we have swimsuits for sale, since it is totally forbidden to enter with underwear or without clothes. As for the massage, we are sorry that on this occasion it was not to your liking and we will try to prevent it from happening again.
We are waiting for you when you want to visit us again.
Greetings.

Pros: It was a relaxing environment and the people that worked there were very pleasant and helpful. Here is the Con: I guess I was under the assumption it was an actual massage, if not therapeutic- at least options for being somewhat therapeutic. When asked if I wanted “light, medium, or more pressure”, I said “medium to deep” but this was like the lightest touch ever, I asked for more pressure and it was “light to medium” -very “foofy” as if someone was not an actual massage therapist. It was 60 minutes entirely on one’s stomach which was strange and misses major muscle groups. No feet, no hands. My neck hurt when I was done from being in an uncomfortable massage table face down for 60 minutes. Maybe it was a COVID thing? Although all clients and staff had masks on during massage. So dizzy when I stood up from being face down for an hour. The cold water tub could stand to be deeper. It was co-ed so had to wear a bathing suit and some couples were a little too cozy making getting in pool slightly awkward if solo. All in all, it was ok, but massage suboptimal and not as good as being in Turkey or other counties who do this well. Very nice staff.

Dear PDX_DMarie, first of all, thank you for your assessment, you ask us several questions, the first about not turning around during the massage, and being upside down for 60 minutes, effectively the protocol, at that time, was that I was lying down in this position for not having the safety distance set by the competent authorities, secondly, the service you contracted is a relaxing massage, it is not therapeutic, it also depends on the perception of each person and how used they are to receiving them, but in our letter of services we have other options available, although I have to tell you that they are experiential, that they are sensory and emotional massages. Our stretchers are manufactured exclusively for Hammam Al-Andalus and are viscoelastic, adapting to the body, providing a feeling of weightlessness. In our Hammam we have 2 hot springs, 1 warm spring, a cold spring and a steam room, enough space since we also have several spaces where you can rest or drink tea, our capacity with restrictions is reduced, which It means that we have space to safely accommodate our travellers, but it is always very respectable that you like other options, however you can return when the restrictions are lifted. It will always be a pleasure to welcome you again.

The website mentioned that this was a Turkish hamam on the contrary I don’t think they never been to a Turkish hamam. First of all it was a coed and it was so crowded you had no privacy. A real hamam has individual wash basins where you get to use solo and after sweating and washing yourself you will lay on the middle stone and someone would wash you ( this is a personal choice ). This place had 3 pools to soak yourself and nothing looked sanitary. Old is something else vs cleanliness. I had to schedule a massage to use the facilities which was so bad I could not wait to be over. I asked the therapist ( loosely used ) to do deeper he said he did not know and understood me. I would not call that a massage it was just some one moving their hands on my body. Also the customer reps at the entrance were not very helpful or friendly.

We enjoyed an 8PM service after 7 days of travels in Spain and no expectations of the experience. Pure bliss!! The facilities are very clean and well maintained. The environment was very peaceful - you could quickly get into a mediation while awaiting your turn to the dressing rooms. The baths were warm - not hot. Go for the Turkish baths / steam room if you’re a heat junkie. The standard is 30 min massage. It’s more about the experience and relaxation than a deep tissue massage working out knots in your back. No bad behavior in the baths and quiet so you can come as a solo if you want a deep mental relax. We would definitely go again!!

Such a unique experience, had gone before but this time brought along our daughter as well and she also loved it. As enjoyable as I remembered, and at least the 15min relaxing massage is a worthwhile add-on given the modest incremental cost. The staff were very kind and even noticed we qualified for a better discount than I ahd booked with and so processed a small refund without us even asking. Recommended1

This place is like a sausage factory… too many people, massage was second rate and the thought of sharing baths with so many people made my skin crawl. It’s a labyrinth of tiny rooms, corridors and pools. Very disappointing.

A really relaxing thing to do after you have been on your feet all day sightseeing. It was lovely but busy and you do feel a bit that you are a number. The massage was good but in an open area where you could hear people shower nearby & walk by you to sit in a quiet area.
However, if you have come to Granada for a few days only, then go. If you are moving on as we did to several cities, many have hammams. We much preferred the Hamman in Jerez to this as it was a much smaller intimate experience with only one other couple there plus a far better massage.

Dear Fleming75, first of all, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. It is true that we have a large influx of people, but our capacity is limited so that our travelers can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the place. For us, silence is fundamental and making our clients feel at home, and for this there is a person, who is the Host, dedicated exclusively to that. We have two massage rooms, one of them if it is separated from the area of the hot springs and the other is part of it, this is also part of the charm of this hammam.
We appreciate your comment so we can always improve where we can.
Greetings.

La estancia en Hammal sólo dura una hora y media? Porque si te das un masaje y pasas otra media hora en las diferentes salas de baño realmente no te relajas

Hello, yes, there are some steps into some of the baths - most of which are quite shallow. However, the general area is quite dimly lit - mostly by candles - to create an intimate atmosphere. If time allows, I would suggest a visit to the baths before booking to check the area to see if its suitable.
