- Kristin R00Really wonderful!!We were fortunate to have Antonio as our guide. Not only a historian but had a sense of humor and answered all questions. I can’t imagine going to the Alhambra without a guide. Maybe you’ll be lucky and get Antonio!
- ggottumukkala00Unforgettable Alhambra palace and amazing guide GustavoWe had the all time best guide Gustavo who made all the difference. So passionate and deeply knowledgeable. Good sense of humor and made the whole experience simply unforgettable. Before and after we took so many other tours but no one can match Gustavo. Alhambra palace is a must see
- 60hilaryg00Words can describe its beautyWhat a stunning place and no phots will ever do the beautiful and detailed architecture justice - and just the feel of the place and its history. It is definitely worth a visit. I could not recommend it more
- firlyc00WATCH OUT FOR ALHAMRA.ORG WEBSITE A SCAMMMMM!!!we are first timer and google for ticket to alhamra, this alhamra website popup first and we click all looks legit. Untill we paid by credit card and they email you said YOUR BOOKING IS NOT CONFIRMED and repeteadly ask us to fill in bunch of code and user name that useles!!! BE AWARE, WE LOST 98EURO!! THEY STILL OPERATED AND SCAMMED PEOPLE SINCE 2018
- lesp86100Very disappointing customer serviceI wish I could review the actual tour but this is about the customer service. I accidentally booked the wrong month. I was booking accommodations for our trip in December and the calendar on the booking site defaulted to the 27th which was the day in December we were planning on visiting Alhambra. I booked a guided tour for our family (4 of us) and then immediately realized my mistake (booked for November 27th) when I got my confirmation. I reached out to the operator right away but was told there were no refunds or changes. So, I'm out $320.00 with no recourse. It just seems silly to not have the ability to cancel for a refund within a certain amount of time. They could have still filled our spots.
- nriemer00Compressive tour of this massive palaceThis tour was very comprehensive and our guide was very knowledgeable, sharing the history of the parlance and all key information. Would recommend!
- 82tatj00RecommendedVery well organised and structured tour with an experienced guide. Gustavo’s tour was interesting, his English was excellent and he way a very friendly and sympatetic person.
- fantueng00Visit Nasrid Palaces was the main purpose of the trip.Very good choice to visit Granada attractions from Seville ! Nasrid Palaces, Generalife ( 3 hours ) and Albaicin. Local guide Guillermo was very very good. Knowledge and attitude ( 10/10 well deserve ).
- G2354VJjoanner00Not worth the moneyDisappointing tour . We booked an English tour but the time was changed and it was merged into an English/Spanish tour with 60% in Spanish. As well not as much history in the tour as we were expecting. It was an expensive tour.
- 82tatj00Great experince excellent guideExcellent guide Gustavo, saw a lot at a good pace, Gustavo was flexibel with individual needs, answered all questions, Alhambra is extremely impressive, enjoyed it very much,
- J9206ZXdavids00We enjoyed the liesurely stroll through the historical buildings. The views are fantastic!Amazing architecture. Great views and stunning gardens. Top notch attraction. It is why I went to Granada and it was worth it.
- mahesh k00Visit to Al HambraAmazing historical site with beautiful gardens . A mix islamic Moorish and Catholic influences. Unmissable and the best attraction of the Granada.
- nfume00Tour around the Alhambra with beautiful views!Pablo took us on a tour around the Alhambra premises and shared a lot of historic information with us. He was super friendly and very nice to listen to! He made sure the pace was good and the group sticked together. Would definitely recommend!
- Henry B00Alhambra tour with GustavoGustavo our guide was fantastic- knowledgeable, polite and great sense of humour. Best tour guide yet - 6/5 stars. Definitely recommend
- 199lyndar00Lovely afternoonExcellent guide. Very knowledgeable about the history of the region and the Alhambra. Also provided good recommendations of places to go and visit/eat.

Do yourself a favor and hire a guide at Alhambra, or use the Alhambra’s own self-guided audio tour. The “welcome” desk employees at City Tour Alhambra range from unprofessional and petty to plain rude. Management is the same ilk.
Generalife gardens and Alhambra are stunning but the guide droned on via headset for 3+ hours with facts and figures. He was nice enough but there was little sense of genuine connection or interaction and he didn’t seem concerned whether the group was with him or not as he kept moving. He did do a good job of pouring out which architectural features were original, and which were added later. I was disappointed with the pro-Christian and somewhat less flattering Muslim/Nasrid narrative, but as they say history is written by the victors.

This tour was absolutely perfect. Our tour guide was Hamdi and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a great, seamless experience. The Alhambra is a large and crowded place but he made it easy to navigate and see everything in a short amount of time. He was very professional and always made sure to find us shade in the heat and a good place to gather while he explained history. Not only was the tour great, but he happened to pass us while we were waiting for a taxi and let us hitch a ride with him on his taxi. Thank you Hamdi! Best tour guide ever

Our Guide Antonio was the best part of the Guided tour. Very knowledgeable, charming and funny. But the Tour time is limited (but long enough 10:30 to 1:30) I recommend to stay behind the last section where the tour ends so you can have more adventure of Alhambra. There are several more things to see that the tour may skip.
Yes worth every penny.

I had trip in English with Alberto and it exceeded my expectations. The group was rather small, the guide was speaking fluently and knew a ton of informations. Booking ticket online was great decision. Even though it looked like Alhambra would not be crowded due to covid (I booked only less than week before) and there would be plenty tickets even on spot, there were long lines at the cash desks and smaller lines on some checkpoints. Thanks to Granavision, I did not have to wait anywhere and did not have to think about where to go :) it is really huge. I recommend!

Tour started without us despite sitting there waiting for 30 mins in the designated area, tour was interesting with Pablo, he’s very good at his job! The tour is long and coming out is the same way as going in so it adds a long walk at the end of a long trip so please bare that in mind and our driver did not pick us up which was disappointing. Pablo finished the tour and left us there to make our own way back. Very long trip so make sure your up to doing a lot of walking as some people especially with the heat couldn’t complete the trip.

We had Antonio Villalobos as our guide who was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the place. He guided our tour as if we were walking back in history. The tour was well organized and the size of the group was just perfect, around 10 people. I strongly recommend taking a guided tour if you want to appreciate the history and details of the place.

We booked the guided tour versus audio only and the communication did say that in a small number of cases the tour would be given in two languages - which in our case it was. We had English and French and it takes twice as long to get through the information - sometimes you have moved on and then the explanation of where you have just been is following in your language. I think the tour would be better in a single language. The pickup and organising of the tour individuals takes a lot longer than the 15 minutes indicated and our guide had to go back in the middle of the tour to pick up two more people.

We were unable to get general admission tickets, so we very happy to find access via a guided tour with Granavision.
We were in a group of 15 English speakers. Our guide, Hamdi Tawfiq was funny, informative and was very good at including the 2 kids on the trip - making sure they were engaged and enjoying the tour as much as we were.
The weather was surprisingly cool which was fine with us. Hamdi is an excellent guide. He speaks English and Spanish and Arabic fluently which was great for helping us to understand the history of all the cultures involved.
The Alhambra is a stunning collection of architectural details and has beautiful gardens and views.

The guided tour of the Alhambra was the highlight of our entire trip to Spain. It was worth the extra money to see the Generalife Gardens in addition to the Alhambra and our tour guide enhanced the experience so much by providing historical context throughout the tour. I would recommend this to anyone going to Spain.

We had a tour in Alhambra on the 9th of February (in English) and absolutely enjoyed it. The guide was amazing, his English was great, the way he was delivering the material was interesting and very informative. I would definitely recommend it to anyone planing to visit Alhambra. The place on its own is stunning but there’s so much history to it that I think a guide makes the experience so much better.

They’re mostly sold out regardless of when you’re checking it for. There are very few days or times that’ll be available because of timing, the no of people in your group etc.

We will be in Granada on Nov 7, arriving on the Azamara Pursuit at 8 am. Will we be able to request an afternoon time? I am not sure we would be able to make a 9:00 am start. What would you recommend?

Yeah I am sure the afternoon noon tour will the best option for you. You may miss the morning tour because the gathering for that is normally around 8 to 8:30 don’t take the risk. But in all cases you better have to book in advance to get all the information about the tour times.
The place is wonderful to be visited. Don’t let it go and and preferably do it with a tour guide. Try to read something about before you go, it is not just a castle, it’s a very interesting period of history.
Best wishes

We are staying in Cordoba and trying to take the bus or train, although bus sounds like the better option (Same time lower cost), where would the pick up be?
LorikeetR
95 contributions
For our tour pick up was in central Granada and so for us it was at our hotel. Neither the bus station nor the train station are “central” so I presume you could look at a map and name a hotel or plaza that suits you. (But please check the zone with the company !) The bus station is about 3k from Paza Nueva and the train station 1.7. Perhaps if you are walking you could find a hotel closer to the station that is included in the pick up zone and ask for that, (you don’t need to be a guest) but the stations wouldn’t be in the zone. Uber is active and reliable in Granada, it would be my choice. If using Uber etc it would be possible to go straight to the Alhambra office if you get instructions from the company to be sure of meeting in the correct spot. It is also very walkable from central Granada (uphill but graded.... easy on the way back!) Have a wonderful holiday :)
