The first thing that will stand out to you is its lopsided façade: the two bell towers are not the same height. Fondly nicknamed 'La Manquita', or 'One-Armed Lady' because of this. Inside the basilica, you can admire artistic masterpieces in various styles: from Gothic to Renaissance to Baroque. The cathedral's magnificent high altar and intricate choir stalls stand out amongst the artwork. They're not alone - find out the origins of one particular piece that is said to have been painted on elephant skin!

Great Way to See Multiple Sites!
Such a great way to see three major sites in just a few hours! Our guide, Lucia, gave us such an informative tour of the Alcazaba, giving us really interesting historical tidbits about the architecture and history of the place. Some people ended their tour there, but we also had the cathedral on our ticket, so we were a bit rushed after the Alcazaba tour (we only got about 30 minutes to explore before needing to meet up again), so that was a bit of a bummer. But the tour of the cathedral was great. Seeing the inside was fantastic and getting the history of the building made it all the more impactful. We were not able to go into the Roman Theatre itself because it was a Sunday, but that wasn't a big deal; we went on another day.

      Do it!
This was an excellent trip with a superb guide. Everything went perfectly. Stefani, our guide, was knowledgeable, personable, patient, and great with the kids (ages 8 and 3). If there was a six star option she'd get it.

      Great overview
Nice overview of some highlights. Clearly outlined meeting area walking distance from cruise port. We were side by side with the cruise excursion offered for twice as much money. The cathedral was stunning and we got lucky as they were rehearsing so heard the organ! Amazing moment. It’s a lot of walking and can be hit so be prepared.

      Long and boring
The tour sounded interesting and promising but vas long and boring. I have taken similar tours around other places in Europe, so I know what to expect. Our guide did not speak that good english, and talked throughout the whole tour. Way too much details and reputation. I regret buying the tour and should have bought the local tickets from the museum instead with the tour guide in the ear and do the trip on my own speed. Not worth the money at all

      Ok
Malaga is a beautiful place with tons of history. However, our tour guide overloaded us with facts, details and dates and her grasps of English was not all that good either, resulting in a rather dull experience. Also the Roman Theatre is closed on Mondays so we missed out on that. Reading the other reviews, I’m guessing we were unlucky with our guide as it could have been a completely different experience.

      Worth Every Penny
100% worth every penny. Dani was our tour guide. He had a great sense of humor and gave us tons of history about everything we saw. Very informative. He even had pictures of how things were in the past. We started at the roman theater, then went through Alcazaba. You need to be able to walk up hill to make it through Alcazaba, but the views are worth it. We got a 20-minute break to explore further before meeting for the second leg of the tour. Then we walked through the well-known restaurant, El Pimpi, and through the streets a bit. We got to skip the line to get into the cathedral. Dani guided us through the cathedral and ended the tour there so we could stay in the cathedral as long as we wanted. All of these areas are must-see, and they were even better with the tour. Highly recommend.

      Fascinating 3 hour tour
We were very impressed with Lourdes, our English speaking guide who was clearly enthusiastic about Malaga's history. With the aid of some historical photographs she took us through the changes in the ancient sites over the years. The pace of the tour was quite leisurely with plenty of stops along the climb through the Alcazaba's palaces.

Excellent tour, tour company made a HUGE mistake with our booking and disappointed us!
The tour guide was excellent. The stairs were a challege but what you saw at the top was magnificent. The negative was that my sister and I booked the tours within 24 hours of each other and we both spoke to the tour representative and had all assurances that we were on the tour together. They did NOT book us together and when we discovered their mistake NO effort was made to correct that. Our once in a lifetime event that we looked forward to experiencing together was not as expected and promised by the tour company.

From the title of this tour and it’s initial description, I expected to be shown the major sites of old Malaga - like the Teatro Romano - and finish with a visit to the cathedral. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He provided an excellent tour of the cathedral, for much less than two hours, and seemed to feel that this was all that was required of him. I rechecked your web site after the fact to see whether my expectations had been unreasonable and became more confused - as I scrolled down, the description was of a different tour entirely. I suggest that you work on your web site to avoid such confusion in future.

    Apr 2019 • Couples
Scheduled this tour for April 25th when we arrived in Malaga on a cruise. Was a short walk from pier to the meeting location Plaza de la Merced. Arrived 15 minutes early and waited 45 minutes. No guide showed up. Two couples standing there waiting..... Good news is Viator issued a full refund after some discussion. Very disappointing. First time we ever experienced a guide no show situation.

A 2 hour scheduled tour which was curtailed to 1 hour 15 minutes for no apparent reason. Gandi the guide was pleasant and knowledgeable but the shortening of the tour is not right. Also, I was charged £16 over the stated ticket price and had to recover the money, time wasted..
As I say Gandi was fine but it all went wrong..

A visit to Malaga Cathedral must be one of the must-see places. The structure is Gothic with Renaissance influences, rich in details.
