Awesome experience to walk this trail. We saw goat ! But it is a big group organisation near 60 persons at a time. And be ready for the multiples flight of stair just at the end of the 5km walk. At the begining we stopped in a small city call Ardales and the guide let you explore for around 1h. Going uphill for a good 2km walk to the cathedral is not worth it, I would wander around the town, shop and take a coffee instead.

The best thing you can do is park your car at the end take the bus back and than do the walk - it saves a lot of hassle with full busses and paying 1,55 per ticket - with bus drivers that dont have change ...
The tour itself is just great BUT we had a lot of elderly people walking very slowly on the parts of the walk where you can't pass by . The views are breath taking beautiful - we enjoyed the walk so much

We visited the Caminito Del Ray in early September as we had booked a holiday to Malaga and all of our friends had said it was a must see. They weren't wrong. This tour was absolutely amazing. Our tour guide Luiz was friendly and charming. He knew all about the history and told all of the tourists in English, Spanish, French and German. The views from the peak were beyond belief and I highly highly suggest that if you are in Malaga, you go and have a look. The tour was great because you can do it at your own pace and finish off with a beverage (we suggest the fresh orange juice). The only downside to this visit was the swarm of wasps that seem to want to eat everything at the very end of the tour but this can't be helped. A must see for tourists.

I would rate caminito del rey itself a 4/5 stars. However, the tour organisation and a lack of communication caused a lot of stress. The address on the ticket is different to the address of where you are supposed to meet.

We had to run back to a different starting point and nearly missed the bus. We called up the tour operator who said that the bus would not wait 5 minutes for us. Lucky, we found it by asking a stranger. Other guests said they found it difficult to find the starting point.

The female tour guide was not that friendly and we couldn't get an English tour until we complained and were put with an alternative group. We went to Ardales first and offered wine tasting experience but it was one glass of desert wine at 11am.

The restaurant wouldn't serve tapas to tourists so we left and found another restaurant. After caminito del rey, there wasn't any time to get a drink and we had to rush back to the coach. It felt like they wanted the trip to end as soon as possible. Caminito del rey was great but the tour was poor.

Dear jodieo503, Thank you for sharing your experience, I regret to learn the difficulties you faced to find the pickup location, I would like to inform you, that several pick-up locations are indicated to every selling point, online or physical, as well as our request for every customer to reconfirm their tour and pick-up details with the Costa del Sol office to avoid this type of situation. Regarding the lunch options, as our descriptions indicate, the tour does not include a lunch break, customers are given the option to bring a snack but there is not a designated stop for lunch. Hope you enjoyed your stay at Costa del Sol, Sincerily,

Unfortunate the weather was windy and so the walk was cancelled just as we arrived. I still wish to visit the Caminito Del Ray but not sure about this tour operator. The coach was nearly full when it picked us up in Malaga so for us it was a direct trip. The return journey was not direct we were the last drop off after a 3hr trip via Marbello and the surrounding coast line. Not good after the disappointment of not experiencing the Caminito DelRay. Our guide informed us on the coach that we would get offered a new trip or a full refund. We were about to leave Malaga so requested a refund from the tour operator. I sent a second request 4 days later having not even received acknowledgement from tour operator. A week later still no reply. Not happy

This is a must if you visit Malaga, breathtaking views and wildlife. I would go with a guide as they can explain the history and point out the wildlife etc. we saw vultures and a mountain goat.
Wear trainers and I would try and have your hands free as there are a lot of narrow steps, you need to hold the railings in parts. Very few toilets and none had loo roll, put some in your pocket !
Nice food and drink stall at the end of the walk in El Chorro, I had a great pulled pork burger off one of the first stalls in the line.

We took the tour to Caminito del rey with Julia Tours with a “guide”.

We have never met a guide who was so uninterested in her job. During the bustrip she almost gave no informations but spend most of her time chatting with the driver. At the site - which is beautiful - she let all participants take care of themselves and gave no advice, explanations etc. We got the impression that she only wanted to get back home asap. The time set for us to walk through the canyon was far too short. We had to run through the path, from start to finish.

This is our last booking of Julia tours.

The sights in the hike were great, however my rating is about the tour and not the hike itself.

There were multiple guides, however the main guide was speaking in very bad English. It was hard to understand what she was saying. She was apologizing a lot about forgetting words, so it was very hard to understand the history she was explaining. We gained zero value from her speaking. The other guide had very good English, but he was not speaking in the bus.

I might visit the location again, however, I would not be booking with this company.

A rigorous hike along a 5 km path, many sections suspended against the rocks of the gorge. The views and scenery were spectacular. Every turn of the path is another interesting sight to behold. WARNING: be prepared for a hike, up and down stairs, in direct sun, limited shady areas, no bathrooms along the 2 1/2 hr route and take plenty of water with you. I went of a hot day and it became very tiring toward the end of the route when my water was gone. i would recommend this for more ambitious, experienced hikers.

One of the worst experiences ever on Caminito del Rey day trip. They left us waiting inside the bus for 4 hours on the way back (it should take only 45 minutes). That is because they decided to drop every single passenger in their hotel in different cities!! The tour guide kept asking if we were part of the group or not. No respect whatsoever.
