What to expect
Meet your guide at a centrally located meeting place or wait in your Malaga hotel lobby for a pickup. Then, travel toward Granada with your guide and group. The historic town is a must-visit stop on any Spain vacation, but it’s the Alhambra that’s Granada’s main calling card. Set in the hills beneath the sweeping Sierra Nevada mountains, the Moorish palace is home to dazzling displays of Islamic architecture that have earned it a place on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. Discover the palace's standout sights on a tour, then check out the neighboring Charles V Palace and the Generalife Gardens. Have your camera ready to capture the vistas over Granada and Albayzin, the city’s old Muslim quarter. Travel into Granada for a meal at your own expense, then make the most of some time at your leisure. After a Granada walking tour, return to your transport for the journey to Malaga. Your day trip ends back at the starting point.

Disappointing - avoid this trip
Oct 2019 • Friends
Delayed pickups due to people not being ready. Set off from Calahonda at 6.45 - due for pick up at 6.25. many pick-up and delays before got on journey. Unclear regards the schedule for the day. On arrival at Grenada unclear whether we had a guided tour of town or not! Guide raced us up to centre of town and left us! My friend had reduced mobility and no accommodation allowed for this so lost guide.similar issues when at Alhambra. Not suitable for reduced mobility - this should have been advised in advance. Tour guide and driver rude to us on return to coach as they were ready to leave. We arrived at pre arranged time. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE GO ON A JULIA TOUR. TERRIBLE AND OVER PRICED.

Dear Hazel C, Thank you for your feedback. I would like to personally apologize if there was any delay during the tour but wanted you to take into account that it might have been caused by traffic conditions or other factors completely out of our control. In addition, rest assured our corresponding team will closely revise your suggestions to see whether there is room for improvement as suggested. Kind regards, Alex B.

Beautiful but rushed
Jun 2019 • Friends
I have always wanted to visit the Alhambra and I was not disappointed. It is a gorgeous and historically fascinating site. My friend and I booked tickets in a tour group because we felt it would make it easier on us. However, I did think that going in a tour group was not as rewarding as going on my own would have been, although it made the ticket purchasing and transportation a lot easier. We felt that our guide moved too fast through the Alhambra and didn’t talk a lot about the history of the site and the uses of different parts of the site. It was difficult to take photographs because he moved so fast and there were so many people. He did speak English and German very well. My advice is that if you are able to visit the Alhambra without going in a tour group and can reach the site by car/bus/train, you should. It is truly an amazing place that is historically and artistically interesting.

Dear Lilliangholt123, Thank you for taking the time to post a review on our Granada tour. It is fantastic to learn you found our operations to be an easy, good way to reach the Alhambra from Costa del Sol. We strive to provide the best possible service to all our visitors and I am happy we turned out to be the perfect match for your needs. As per the comments on the guide performance inside the site, I regret you felt the tour was rushed through the premises as we schedule the tour in a manner the visitors are able to enjoy all features and architectural traits. We look forward to welcome you back again soon! Best regards, Alex B

Beautiful day and wonderful place
Mar 2019 • Couples
This is definitely a must have tour. The history, the amazing architecture, and the beautiful, tranquil gardens in Alhambra Palace, making it a very special place. Our guide, Paco, is very knowledgeable and speaks multiple languages (English, French, German, Spanish..). This was a very pleasant trip that I also gained new knowledge.

Granada Walking Tour/Julia
Oct 2018 • Solo
Excellent. The tour is almost entirely the Alhambra which is astonishing. Bus drops you off at the main entrance. Our Alhambra guide was very good. He explained a lot. Gave us loads of time for looking, photos and asking questions. How much time you have in Granada depends on how long you take in the Alhambra. We were well over 3 hours. A word of warning. You are on your feet from when you leave the bus until you get to lunch which is in Granada, which you walk downhill to. We had a couple of hours then it was time to walk to the bus which was 20 mins away. Around 5 to 6 hours walking. The tour guide was very good too. Very informative. Did very well especially considering he was speaking in 4 languages! I did this tour at the end of October and it was 25C. Personally I would have found the heat in summer very difficult. The bus journey is around 2 hrs on the road but it does a 15 min toilet break on the way there and 30 mins on the way back. I left from Malaga at 8am and returned just after 7.15pm. If you are late, even by a few minutes, for the bus in the morning, it will leave without you. Worth phoning the company and double checking the pick up point as there are a lot of roadworks in central Malaga at the moment. Don’t be late! All in all a great day and well worth it.

Dear roddyc219, Thank you so much for your review! I will make sure that it reaches the corresponding manager and guides for that day. As you well say, it is important to reconfirm the pickup time for the tours, especially from those departing from Malaga, as due to the number of stops towards the destination we will not be able to wait for those passengers running late. Alhambra is an incredibly beautiful building that must be visited whether it is your first time in the area or you have been there before, and I am glad you choose us for this activity. I look forward to seeing you on any of our tours in the future. Kind regards, Edgar W.

Not as described
Jul 2018 • Couples
Initially when we phoned to confirm our booking and pick up point, we were told we could not be picked up from our hotel even though it had previously been requested. Ensure you arrive to the pick up point early as our coach left before the designated time, with some people just making it.

For our tour we paid extra to ensure we could visit Alcazaba. However, we were very disappointed to find out that we wouldn't visit that as they hadn't allocated enough time, despite the time slot being printed on our tickets. We did visit some gardens, Charles V palace and the general life gardens. But not what we specifically paid extra to visit.

Furthermore, in the afternoon we spent 3 and half hours (which was more time than spent at Alhambra) walking around Grenada. However this was by ourselves without a tour guide and was a complete waste of time, which could of been used to visit the other sights we had paid for in Alhambra.

Overall very disappointed and feel we should have a partial refund as the trip is not as described and not good value for money.

Dear NBarnesWSussex, Thank you for taking the time to post a review on your tour to Granada with us. We do hold pick up from several hotels in Costa del Sol. However, not every hotel is included in that listing and when it is not possible for us to hold a pick up in a particular hotel we always confirm its closest alternative. Likewise, due to traffic conditions we always advise our customers to be at the meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of the meeting time. On the other hand, I have to state we do visit the Alcazaba on the tour you booked. I will personally investigate the reason you might not have visited it during your visit. I regret you did not enjoy the free time given to visit Granada as it is a much praised part of the tour. It gives participants the opportunity to enjoy the great gastronomy and tapas of the city as well as to wander through its charming streets. Best regards, Edgar W.

Azul Verano trip to Grenada and Alhambra
Jun 2018 • Friends
We went on this excursion with Azul Verano from Nerja and was not told that we could not visit the palace but paid the same amount of money just for the gardens! No comfort break from getting on the coach to finishing the garden tour. Supposed to be trip to do shopping in Grenada but by the time the tour had finished of part of the cathedral(had to pay extra for additional section)it was siesta time and shops were closing!
Felt we had been 'ripped off'. Badly planned trip by the tour company.

Dear 565loobyloo58, Thank you for taking the time to post a review about your experience on our tour to Granada. I believe there was a bit of miscommunication when you booked through a third party since we always make clear when the tour includes the Palacios Nazaríes. As you might be already aware entrance to the Alhambra is very controlled and limited, which is the reason there are very few seats available for this particular tour. Moreover, the entrance has a set time to access the premises and therefore the schedule is thigh at the beginning of the tour. Regarding the free time given, I am sorry you could not wander the city for shopping what you were looking for. However, the tour is aimed to give the participants the opportunity to enjoy and experience the Spanish culture, the wonderful tapas and to walk the magical streets of Granada. Best regards, Edgar W
