About the operator
- 460kendallk00Picasso Baby!!It was great seeing some of Pablo Picasso’s work in his home town of Malaga. The skip the line tickets are well worth it and aren’t that much more in price than the regular tickets; the line can be pretty long so it’s worth the price. Theres an option to get an audio handset to hear different things about Picasso’s artwork. The museum has a vast collection of sketches, pottery, sculptures, and canvas artwork.
- geraldjamesmcgrath00Genuine Flamenco at sensible pricesFor a great flamenco show in Málaga we thoroughly recommend El Museo de Arte Flamenco, Peña Juan Breva. It's in calle Ramón Franqueo 4 in the city centre. It's usually on at 8.30pm on Thursdays and Saturdays but they can do additional shows if there's enough demand. Buy tickets in advance or get there at 8. Call +34952 221380 or +3460056 8856. Cost is €15 for adults, €10 for children including a drink and some tapas. It lasts about 90 minutes.
- Stay5458500Joaquin - Alhambra skip the line from MalagaThis was the best tour of a 2 week vacation with my wife. Joaquin was our guide for the day and could not have been a better person to show us Granada and all its treasures. Thank you for all you did Joaquin in making our very full day a day to remember. Will find you when we come back to Malaga.... (the Waikiki of the Spanish coast) 😊
- sox62700Great tour, beautiful sitesWe booked this tour and ended up being the only two people in the group. So, our driver arrived at the hotel to pick us up (he was on time) and he loaded us into his personal car and he drove us to Granada. We started by doing Albaycin first (unlike what the tour description says), so we walked through the city and had lunch. I invited our driver to eat with us and bought his lunch. Then it was off to Alhambra which is very beautiful. Our driver brought us to the entrance and walked in to get our tickets for us. It's a timed entrance, so they tell you what time to be at the entrance. We were able to walk the grounds for about an hour before that and see lots of great things. We were on our own to walk through the rest of the tour and then we met our driver for the departure home. All in all, it was a very worthwhile tour. I will say that our driver was very pleasant but he didn't offer a whole lot of commentary for us to explain the area or history. For the price of this tour I would have expected a bit more "color" commentary, but I wouldn't pass on this tour regardless. We enjoyed it.
- tacitusone00Excellent Trip with JoaquinPicked up at our hotel and had a pleasant ride to Granada. Joaquin showed us around the town and took us to a local place for an excellent lunch. Took us to the Alhambra and dropped us off and we have a good amount of time to explore this fabulous place. Safe and good trip back to our hotel.
- pmcd285700A brilliant tripWe had a really brilliant trip, from our pickup outside our hotel by Joaquim, and our guide jaqueline in granada.it was an exellent experience to whitness such a beautiful and historic city,a must for any visitor to southern spain.
- Qamar N00Great tour from MarbellaWe took the tour from Marriott Marbella Resort. Tour guide was very knowledgeable the history and detail about the Alhambra Palace. We love the tour specially the pick up was from the Marriott Resort and not from the Marbella City Center. Tour include a free time in the Granada City center where we did lunch and shopping. Great tour.
- Zena J00MisleadingWe met up with guide for 1pm tour. We were only couple. The guide was extremely nice and very knowledgeable, his English was great. However the 2 tapas places he took us to were disgusting. They were dingy and the tapas were inedible at the second place. I decided against going to a third place. Also there was no wine information at all. Was extremely disappointed. The description of your was deceiving. They need to upgrade the restaurants they use for tapas. The only saving grace was tour guide
- Carolyn S00Very disappointedMy husband and I were very disappointed in this tour. We paid for a private guided tour and were very surprised and unhappy when the tour guide told us he would not be accompanying us into the Alhambra and that we would be on our own to get around and explore . He explained that we needed to get on the line for the Palace tour by noon, the time on our tickets and how to get there within the large complex grounds. Because the guide was late picking us in Malaga, we had to rush to find the line for the palace tour and got confused and lost. Bottom line, we missed the time on our tickets and the highlight of visiting Granada. Our guide tried to get us in, but we were told multiple times, by multiple people that it "was not possible". Needless to say we were very disappointed. As this was a private tour we paid a great deal of money and did not get what we expected To the credit of the tour guide, he took us of a lovely tour of the rest of Granada and got us safely back to our hotel. This was our only glitch in an otherwise perfect 2 week independent tour of Spain.
- christinag76000Pancho Tours was very unprofessional - very poor serviceWe have booked many private tours so I write this review with much experience. This excursion booked through Viator was so badly managed by Pancho Tours. Firstly it lacked the correct meeting information, I telephoned the local Pancho tours office when we left our ship in Malaga. We were told to meet at Plaza Marina & look for our driver wearing an orange t shirt. The shuttle bus from the cruise port dropped us at Plaza Marina at the appointed time 9:00 am. We looked in vein for the orange shirt, after about fifteen minutes I made another call to the local office, I was told they would call me back as they did not know the driver's exact location. She called back & told us to find the tourist office which we did but of course they knew nothing of our tour! Forty five minutes after our start time we managed to find the driver, in fact he was the lead driver for another group of eight booked with the same company. We were ushered to our driver & a very small Toyota Auris car. My husband sat in the front & I with my legs cramped sat behind the driver. Our driver was to follow the mini bus with the other passengers booked on the same tour. There was no water provided in the car, the drive to the Alhambra took almost two hours as the traffic was heavy & slow as we entered Granada & the scenery is rather boring from the motorway. The first stop to view the Alhambra from a distance was worthless. The second stop to view the Alhambra from a distance was a great problem. We were not told what to expect with the walk only that the vehicles were unable to enter the old town. The walk was up very steep narrow cobble stoned rough roads, one of the passengers in the other vehicle used a wheel chair, my husband uses a walking cane. The view of the Alhambra at the tip of the hill was very nice but it was not worth the hardship for the disabled passengers. WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADVISED IN ADVANCE OF WHERE WE WERE BEING TAKEN & WHAT TO EXPECT. The next drive was back on the motorway to the other side of the city for the entrance to the Alhambra. We were met by the guide (this tour did not include a private guide but since we were offered to join the other group we were charged an additional 30 euros each above the $601 we had already paid to Viator. The guide was very knowledgeable however, he spoke very quickly with a strong accent which was difficult to understand. We spent far too long in the gardens therefor cutting the time short in the palaces. There was no time to stop for lunch or a snack. I should have insisted we stop to purchase water for the trip back as none was provided in the car for the return trip. After the tour of the Alhambra was completed we were lead by the guide to meet the drivers it was a very long walk, I could not understand why the drivers did not meet us as we exited the Alhambra. Other vehicles were waiting for passengers, I suspect that Pancho Tours did not have the essential permits to meet at the exit. Another point about the vehicle provided for us, we have booked with Viator before & the vehicles have been comfortable Mercedes or similar style vehicles, water on board & a smartly dressed driver. This excursion provided with the lowest possible standards!
- weissmanjennifer00Our tour was a total ripoff and Pancho had no interest in making it rightI was hoping not to write this review and gave Pancho several opportunities to give us even a partial refund, but to no avail. We paid 450 Euros to have a full-day guided tour of the White Towns from Malaga. Unfortunately we believed our guide when she told us that our expensive itinerary "wasn't worth the drive" and instead of taking us to Arcos de la Frontera as contracted, she convinced us to go to nearby Antequera instead, which she said was just as beautiful and less time in the car/more time to explore. Turns out she had actually never been there - she just didn't feel like driving us to the further afield town. There was not much to see in Antequera (or at least she didn't take us to much since she didn't know it) so we walked around fairly aimlessly for a few hours. When it was time to leave, she lost her car. We spent nearly an hour looking for it before driving to Ronda. She gave us a short uninformative tour for 30 minutes before she headed home. We would have been just as happy taking a bus to Ronda for a fraction of the price. When I let Pancho know we were sorely disappointed and we had not gotten the 12 hours we had paid for (only 8), they said they were sorry but that they couldn't help - they had already paid the guide and they weren't willing to give back any of their commission. We just wanted to warn fellow travelers that Pancho is not at all interested in customer service or making sure that their expensive guides are doing their jobs well. On the upside, Ronda was lovely and we enjoyed exploring it on our own the next day.
- Goldie24600ATM/Debit CardsWe travel extensively and always use our bank debit card for cash at ATM's as the rate is always better than buying Euros from a bank in the US. Malaga is a wonderful gorgeous town with great food, shopping and sight seeing and we always look forward to going there. However due to the influx of migrants, the crime rate has excelled as well as thief of credit and debit cards. We used our debit card for a purchase in a store and it was denied. We proceeded to an ATM to get out cash and a card did not work at the ATM either. Because we were on a cruise, I did not get international calling for my cell (is no good at sea) and therefore had to find a call center. This is no longer an easy task - be warned! As all seasoned travelers know, you MUST put in a vacation notice via computer on all your credit cards and debit cards before leaving the US. We had not only done such but I personally went to my Chase bank to make sure this did not happen. Well it did!! Because of the 7 hour time difference when I called the bank, I was connected to their call center in India. They were not helpful other than to tell me where I first tried my debit card for the purchase was a high credit card thief store and Chase flagged by debit card!!!!! The obnoxious girl at the call center wanted me to fax all kinds of proof of who I was. Remember I'm on a ship. Not going to happen. Banks in Spain no longer take American Cash in trade for Euros. We wanted to pay cash for the entire trip but ended up having to use credit cards. Another high crime store caused another blocked Credit card in Malaga. I hope this is helpful to all travelers who read this review. If you were going to Spain, pay the fee and by the euros in the United States.
- IR C00A walk with tapasThis guided walk through Malaga was really interesting. Some interesting places to visit and nice tapas. If you want to find out more about tapas this is a good way to find out more. The people who lead the tour are very friendly and take you to some nice bars. Centro Malaga is lovely. This is a great way to spend 3 hours in Malaga!

We booked this Malaga Tapas and Wine Tour about two weeks prior to our trip. We arrived at Plaza de la Constitucion 15 minutes prior to the meeting time. Around five minutes prior, we approached another tour guide who informed us that our guide usually has a sign, but we couldn’t see anyone. Another guide offered to call a guy he knew who worked for Pancho Tours. He said that if no one shows up by five minutes past the meeting time, that the tour is cancelled and to contact the company for a refund. We waited until 15 minutes past the meeting time, tried calling the number on the voucher twice, but could not reach anyone. We also sent an email to the address on the voucher, requesting a refund due to the guide not showing up, but we have not heard anything yet. We are really hoping they issue us a refund since we were there and they were not…

Good morning Jandjs,
We are sorry to hear about your negative experience with us.
There was a mix up with our guide on the day of the tour and that is why he did not show up at the meeting point.
We have proceeded to refund your reservation, in case you did not receive it, please contact us to solve it as soon as possible.
Once again, we are sorry for what happened.

Can’t comment on the tour as we never made it. Unfortunately we had a family emergency and had to get an early flight home. We advised the company as soon as we could-two days before and was told no refund could be given.
I know it’s in there terms but felt very harsh due to our circumstances and our genuine reason for cancellation. I think there should be exceptions to their policy in extreme circumstances otherwise they could be seen as an uncaring, unsympathetic company only interested in as much profit as possible.
Such a shame we missed the tour, was really looking forward to it.

My girlfriend and I do a city break each year, and have done this wine and tapas tour before in other cities. Our guide, Adriano, was a very nice young man who spoke good English. However, unlike on previous tours, he told us nothing about the bars we went to, without prompting, and offered no explanations on the tapas and made no suggestions on what to drink. In fact, the last bar we visited, was only opened last year and so had no historic value of any kind. I will go on other wine and tapas tours, as I know they can be so much better than this one was.

We very much enjoyed our tour. We were by ourselves with our guide, who was pleasant and informative. We tried several tapas at 3 bars and had 3 different types of wine. Everything was delicious! Our guide also had lots of information to share about Malaga and each bar, tapa and wine. It was our first night in town and a great way to start our visit!

Went on this tour a couple of weeks ago. Adriano was our tour guide and took us to 3 great little tapas restaurants away from the usual tourist places. All the tapas we tried was delicious and portions were good, you definatley wont be hungry after this tour! We had loads of variety including the local bocerones, shark and even snails!! Adriano was very knowledgable about the tapas and the local area so was very interesting to go with the food. Thanks

Our guide Adriano was Awesome! He took us to 3 cafes that have been around for a long time, quaint & make you feel at home. Our favs were El Taberna del Payayo y La Salita. Both spots were quaint, very good tapas & wine 🍷 & nice atmosphere.

I felt sorry for our guide a delightful Polish girl called Katya (I think). First up the designated meeting place was fenced off because of upcoming Holy Week. Second the first restaurant on the tour was shut for refurbishment, which apparently they had not told the tour company.
In any event we moved onto the second, a small family restaurant which frankly was pretty ordinary. The anchovies here were delicious though and I was introduced to a typical Malagan drink tinto do verano, a red wine based drink very like Sangria but apparently much easier to prepare. I liked it.
The second and last restaurant (La Casa de Pipayo) delivered the goods as the food we were served was top drawer and very tasty. As the first restaurant did not deliver, Katya doubled up here, which was no hardship at all.
I enjoyed the tour. There were only 4 of us which made for an intimate group with lively conversation. Also as I have said our guide Katya was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the food and Malaga.
So despite the disappointing start a very pleasant way to pass 3 hours

This was a very nice introduction to Tapas and some of the wines of Spain. We stopped at three different Tapas restaurants and the staff at each restaurant provided us a sample of 3 or 4 different Tapas to try in addition to a glass of wine at each one. Kasha took us around and was very nice and was able to explain everything we were eating and the differences in the different wines as well. A very enjoyable afternoon.

Adriano was a wonderful guide. We had 3 stops. The first one was a small restaurant where we had sangria and sampled several local dishes. One was a potato and egg "omelet ". It was more like a quiche. Either way delicious. We sampled Iberico de Ballota, a Spanish ham. There was also bread and cheese. All fabulous.
Our next stop was to a sidewalk cafe where we had the local version of Paella. We drank a lovely red wine. They served bread, a chicken dish and potatoes. All were wonderful
Our last stop was to a restaurant that years ago was a Flamenco and artist hall. There was beautiful art work there. We sampled several types of fried fish. The sardines and calamari were perfectly done. We had Boquerones in vinegar and fried. Amazing flavors! There was bread and, of course wine. This time white wine.
Adriano had a great grasp on the history of Malaga. He educated us as we walked through bother new and old Malaga.
This is a very worthwhile tour.

We really enjoyed our tour, as well as trying lots of new foods even things I didnt think I would ever eat. Our tour guide told us lots of information about the city, history and including where to visit at night if we were looking for food and some alcohol. Plenty of food so do not have lunch before you go.

Depends where you get dropped off but I would say get a taxi to the square (or as close as it will drop you off) and then it will be a 5 min walk to the meetup point but the statue. Great tour so have fun!

About 2-3 hours. It depends how much you chat in each bar, as you only get one small drink in each place.
