About
Gershon is member of the local Jewish Community who invites you to discover the past and present of the Jewish community in Spain. Going through one of the best preserved Jewish neighborhoods in Spain, we will retrace the footsteps of the great Jewish thinkers of the past. We will discover the origins of the first great Jewish renaissance in Europe, as well as the difficult period that preceded it. Through clues, tangible and intangible, we will be able to appreciate the significance of Sephardi legacy. Today, this legacy is alive and well – it permits us to reestablish local communities, and highlight the impact of Sepharad on the Spanish culture, and Spain on the Jewish people. Make yourself at home with Jewish Tours!

Jorge is one of the best guides we have met , anywhere in the world. With respect to Cordoba and Southern Spain history he taught us so so much and we loved every minute!! He is very very knowledgeable and "teaches" in an easy understandable way, speaking perfect English. We highly recommend this tour and Jorge!

We thoroughly enjoyed our morning tour of Jewish Cordoba with Gershon. He was the perfect guide for us, with a warm, engaging style and great knowledge of the history of the Jews in Spain. We were very fortunate to have him as our guide and would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Cordoba or Seville who wants to explore Jewish history.

We wanted To do a Jewish tour of Seville and found someone on TripAdvisor but unfortunately he was not available but he gave us Gershon‘s contact details I emailed Gershon and he came back right away and arranged to meet us at our hotel. He is an extremely interesting young man who grew up in Africa and came to Spain as a young adult. There are not a lot of Jewish sites to physically see but he took us around Seville explaining the history and what had happened throughout the city. We had a wonderful time sightseeing and seeing Seville through his eyes through the different periods of time right up to the present day. One upsetting thing he showed us was the”Jewish Memorial”. We didn’t know such a thing existed snd no wonder. During an excavation the old Jewish cemetery had been discovered. The city had agreed to preserve the bones for reburial (not happened yet) and had “preserved” one head stone in situ. The fact that it was underground in a car park next to the Real Palace gardens is not the worst thing. It’s the fact that the City Council couldn’t even agree to cordon off two parking spaces so that the stone and it’s importance could be seen. Please ask at the Tourist Office where the Jewish Memorial is and how to view it. Maybe if enough people ask they’ll be embarrassed into doing something. ( see pictures)

Anyway thank you Gershon for a great tour and for working to encourage the revival of a Jewish community in Andalusia.

Jorge was amazing!! I could not have asked for a better guide, or a nicer person. He was a fount of information and had a ready supply of maps and interesting material at his fingertips! Highly recommended if you want to get a real understanding of what the Medieval Jewish experience was like.

We took a private tour, walking around the old city of Cordoba and what remains of its Jewish past. Gershon is knowledgeable and friendly, and adapted the tour to our personal interests. He covered much history, background, and current status. The tour was a thoroughly informative and enjoyable experience.
